Renowned game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, known for his masterful creations like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, has long been celebrated for his innovative approach to game design.
In a revealing interview back in December 2018, he spoke about his creative process and how he crafts the immersive worlds that have managed to captive gamers worldwide, time and time again. However, with the upcoming Elden Ring Dlc, Shadow of the Erdtree, Miyazaki has seemingly broken tradition.

Yesterday, the folks at Vertical let us know they’d be dropping a trailer for the horror film The Exorcism (formerly known as The Georgetown Project), which stars Russell Crowe and is set to receive a North American theatrical release on June 7th, online today. Sure enough, a trailer for The Exorcism has just arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above!
Crowe recently played real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth in the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist, which could turn out to be a franchise starter. He actually worked on this movie before making The Pope’s Exorcist – in fact, The Exorcism was first announced four and a half years ago. So it’s good to see that it’s finally making its way out into the world.

Not many would consider it hard labor to stand in the shadow of Jennifer Lopez. Few, perhaps, could stand as still and as long as documentary filmmaker Jason Bergh.
For nearly a decade, Bergh has recorded the multi-hyphenate star behind the scenes as she has charted new paths as a content producer and beauty mogul, and danced her way onto America’s biggest stage — the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Last month, Bergh took his loftiest seat at J. Lo, Inc. by serving as director for “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” a much-discussed documentary about the making of Lopez’s 2024 visual album “This Is Me … Now.”
Imposingly tall and excessively kind, Bergh has been a gentle giant in the unscripted space for years. He’s directed episodic and short content on notable music figures like Alicia Keys and athletes Stephen Curry and Clay Matthews. After the dust settled on “Greatest Love Story,...

Pop star Shakira is finally coming out with a new album after a long seven-year gap. The Hips Don’t Lie star is currently promoting her 16-track album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran or Women No Longer Cry. The artist reportedly intends for the album to be empowering, enabling women to rediscover their strengths and build bridges between people.
While Shakira sought to empower women with her new album, she reportedly had some strong opinions about last year’s Barbie. The pop star mentioned that her sons found the film to be ‘emasculating’ and that she agreed with the same. Fans slammed the singer for her statement on the movie as she joined a few more celebrities who bashed the film for similar reasons.

‘Kidz Bop’ Could Never: Watch a Bunch of Children Cover Nine Inch Nails’ Self-Loathing Anthem ‘Wish’
Music is a great way to teach children about the important things in life — love and loss, hope and sadness, the power of people, and absolutely debilitating, destructive self-loathing and masochism. That’s why we must give a shout-out to the kids who dared to do the impossible and covered Nine Inch Nails’ “Wish.”
The cover is at once very faithful and, understandably, heavily censored: Total hard rock abandon, led by a menacing lead vocal performance from 10-year-old singer Zoë Franziska, who still manages to inject some serious edge into tweaked,...

For years, fans of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series believed the books simply couldn’t be adapted to the screen. There were too many characters, spread across multiple continents, in stories that would take years to intersect. And much of the plot was inspired by events that took place decades, if not centuries, before the contemporary action. It was an impossible task, everyone assumed. No one could do that.
Then David Benioff and D.B. Weiss actually did it. HBO’s Game of Thrones was a global smash,...

Comedy series “Tacoma Fd” has been canceled at TruTV after four seasons, Variety has confirmed.
The series originally debuted on the basic cabler back in 2019. The show was part of the network’s push into original scripted series, alongside other shows like “At Home With Amy Sedaris,” “I’m Sorry,” and “Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters.” However, TruTV’s original programming lineup has been winnowed down to virtually nothing in the past few years, with the only original series still on the network being the hidden camera show “Impractical Jokers.”
Likewise, fellow TNets like TBS and TNT — all of which fall under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella — have gone from notable rosters of scripted shows to having none. Most recently, the TBS comedy series “Miracle Workers” was canceled after four seasons. That show featured a cast that included Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi.

The ongoing Motörhead live recording series, The Löst Tapes, is being collected on a new eight-disc CD box set arriving February 23rd. In addition, a fifth volume in the series, Live at Donington Download Fest ’08, has been announced as part the box set and as a standalone vinyl release.
The Motörhead camp launched The Löst Tapes series in 2021, restoring previously unreleased Motörhead concert recordings sourced from cassette tapes discovered in the archives of the late Lemmy Kilmister.
“[Cassettes] were a standard part of every tour … Motörhead were certainly no exception, recording show after show,” read the press release for the box set. “They contain gold, pure aural gold, and had for many years sat hundreds of feet underground in a small cave Lemmy owned, guarded by small, hairy centurions in Roman armor with small spears and bad attitudes. Shah Rukh Khan has been the man of the year 2023. While he has decided to take a break in 2024, it would be a much-deserved break since he single-handedly revived the box office in India and overseas for Indian films. Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki are three films that performed brilliantly overseas.
While the actor has breathed life into numbers with the three films, he achieved the rarest of achievements with his cumulative box office collection overseas, the reason why he is called the undisputed king.
Together, the three Shah Rukh Khan films collected a whopping $100+ million at the box office. While Jawan and Pathaan collected close to $50 million overseas, Dunki collected almost $18+ million overseas.

Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest Hollywood star to share anecdotes about Matthew Perry. The Oscar-winner took to social media to recall the time she met the late Friends actor and all the fun times they had together.
“I met Matthew Perry in 1993 at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts. We were both there for most of the summer doing plays,” Paltrow recalled. “He was so funny and so sweet and so much fun to be with. We drove out to swim in creeks, had beers in the local college bar, kissed in a field of long grass. It was a magical summer.”
Paltrow remembered that Perry had just “shot the pilot of Friends but it had not aired yet,” revealing that the actor who would go on to play Chandler Bing in the sitcom “was nervous” and “hoping his big break was just around the corner.”

Over the weekend, David Gordon Green’s legacy sequel The Exorcist: Believer passed a big milestone at the worldwide box office, officially crossing the $100 million landmark.
Worldwide, The Exorcist: Believer has thus far scared up a total of $107.5 million in its 17 days of release, $54.2 million of which was made here in the United States.
For the sake of comparison, Gordon Green’s Halloween Ends, the final part of a trilogy of legacy sequels, finished its worldwide run with $104.3 million last Halloween season.
The reported production budget for The Exorcist: Believer was in the ballpark of $30 million, meaning it’s likely turning a profit in theaters. The catch? Universal spent $400 million acquiring the rights to The Exorcist, so it’s a bit complicated to measure the success of this one.

The franchise’s first movie in nearly twenty years, director David Gordon Green’s The Exorcist: Believer arrived on the big screen over the weekend, but how did it perform?
The legacy sequel, the first film in a planned trilogy of movies, topped the box office here in the United States, scaring up $27.2 million in its debut weekend across 3,663 theaters.
Worldwide, The Exorcist: Believer debuted to $45 million, a number that exceeds the reported $30 million production budget of the new movie. But there’s some fine print to that.
The catch? Universal spent $400 million acquiring the rights to The Exorcist, the studio banking on big box office numbers to make the investment worthwhile.

When the Watson Twins sang for Jenny Lewis on her 2006 album Rabbit Fur Coat, they viewed it as simply doing a favor for a friend. Lewis was the Watsons’ neighbor in the Silver Lake neighborhood of L.A., and Chandra and Leigh Watson always liked an opportunity to jam.
Back in high school in Kentucky, the sisters could often be found at their friend’s Grateful Dead shop singing harmonies behind whoever had an acoustic guitar. To them, the Rilo Kiley bandleader’s project was no different.

Netflix and Amazon are currently competing for a lucrative package deal. The two streaming giants are in a bidding war over a novella by Don Winslow called Crime 101. The package includes two attached stars — Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal. It also has a director set to helm the project with Bart Layton, whose credits include the documentary The Imposter from 2012 and American Animals from 2018. The bidding war for the property may have been narrowed down to Netflix and Amazon, but Deadline is reporting that Amazon currently has the edge in the fight.
Although the actors and directors are attached, there is currently no deal in place, according to sources. Prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, both Hemsworth and Pascal were showing interest and, presumably, both had been forbidden to do any official business once the strike had taken place. Exclusive: In a whopping deal, Amazon and Netflix are battling ferociously for Crime 101, a package based on a novella by Don Winslow that has Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal attached to star. American Animals helmer Bart Layton is attached to direct the film. It came down to Amazon and Netflix, sources said. Amazon appears to have the edge.
No deals are in place and according to sources both actors have shown interest in the project prior to the strike. This technically at this point is a rights deal with a UK-based producer, which passes the sniff test.
Working Title’s Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan, and Shane Salerno’s Story Factory are the production companies that put the package together along with CAA.
It’s a great crime story in the vein of Heat. High-level jewel thefts are taking place up and down the Pacific Coast and police have linked them to the Colombian cartels.

Well, that's one way to set up the series finale.
On Mayans M.C. Season 5 Episode 9, E.Z. Reyes was served up a nice dose of food for thought as he tried to come to terms with the pressure of being the person leading a gang.
Obviously, someone familiar to fans would show up on the road to help him out of this pickle, but my jaw hit the floor when Sons of Anarchy's Drea de Matteo returned as Wendy Case.
After nine years, de Matteo slipped back into the role like a glove as Wendy helped E.Z. understand that the people in his life would never understand his machinations if he doesn't let them in.
If you watch Mayans M.C. online, you know E.Z. has been straddling the fine line between good and evil, something that's been eating away at Sofia because she's felt a lack of connection with her boyfriend.

A colleague of mine, Marc Edward Heuck, once compared the films of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe to 7-Eleven hot dogs. The comparison was meant to be favorable. In both cases, the thinking went, the artisans in question know full well that they are not offering haute cuisine. Instead, the consumer is getting something efficiently constructed, barely flavorful enough, and perfect for a night when the edibles hit a little harder than expected. Broken Lizard's films have never elevated beyond the realm of raunchy, frat boy-style chuckle-fests, but have possessed just enough zingers, oddball gags, and precision-strike profanity to entrench themselves in the friendly cult trench inside the human brain. They possess an affable, thrown-off quality that makes them weirdly appealing, even as the jokes periodically fall flat.
Their newest film, "Quasi," directed by Kevin Heffernan, and written by the entire troupe is a "Carry On"-style sendup of Victor Hugo...

Not to be confused with an adaptation of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” comedy troupe Broken Lizard’s “Quasi” tells a story that’s truer to the Oxford definition of its title than the 1831 Victor Hugo novel that inspired it. Kevin Heffernan settles uneasily into the director’s seat usually occupied by colleague Jay Chandrasekhar for an underdog story more interested in leveraging funny pronunciations of French words for underwhelming laughs than in creating real characters — much less a visual backdrop that doesn’t look like a second-rate Renaissance Faire.
Set in a 13th Century France that narrator and sometime Broken Lizard collaborator Brian Cox helpfully informs us “sucked,” the film centers on Quasimodo (Steve Lemme), a social outcast who works in the torture chambers of King Guy (Chandrasekhar). Exclusive: Broken English has optioned an original screenplay by Erick Galindo and Patty Rodriguez for the holiday ensemble film A Christmas to Remember.

Syd, the impossibly cool writer, producer, and frontwoman of the beloved alt-r&b band The Internet, masterfully dictates the evolution of a failed coupling on Broken Hearts Club, her second solo endeavor. Syd’s sound is often atmospheric, and she knows it. “I think a lot of people would agree that my voice and my...

The lasting horror of war is the blight it leaves on the lives of those left behind. Early sound pictures tried to deal with the guilt and pain of WW1, and the great Ernst Lubitsch took time out from romantic comedies and musicals for this very grim rumination on lies and responsibility. A French soldier decides to contact the family of a German he killed in the trenches; with no clear purpose or plan, he’s apt to make things worse for everybody. Lionel Barrymore and Nancy Carroll are wonderful, but you’ll choke up in the scenes with the German mother, played by Louise Carter. The film is best known for its opening montage, in which Lubitsch openly attacks the hypocrisy of militarist patriotism. It’s an exceedingly effective, non-hysterical piece of anti-war filmmaking.

Breathtakingly shot documentary records long push to cross a series of Alaskan mountains, and the geographer who first charted them
Fifteen miles to the south-east of Denali, the highest peak in North America, lies a colossal mountain range that rears from the ground like a vertiginous jaw. Fittingly, the various summits of this natural wonder are called Moose’s Tooth, Eye Tooth, Sugar Tooth and Broken Tooth. While many explorers have conquered each of these peaks, none have attempted a lateral climb from summit to summit, akin to walking atop the skyline. But a black-and-white aerial photograph of the forbidding path, all snow-capped and wrapped in billowy clouds, beckons the adventurous spirit of mountaineers Renan Ozturk, Freddie Wilkinson and Zach Smith.
Directed by Ozturk and Wilkinson, this awe-inspiring documentary is as much about their years-long attempts to scale the Tooth traverse as it is about Brad Washburn, the man behind...

Iff Panama’s co-production forum, the Panama Film Match, launched in 2020 in a virtual format. It’s now holding its first in-person format between Dec. 2-4 as part of the 10th Panama Intl. Film Festival (Iff Panama).
Creating a co-production forum has been a long-standing goal for Iff Panama, the highest-profile film event in Central America. The Pfm is a sister event to Iff Panama’s pix-in-post sidebar, Primera Mirada, which are already showing synergies.
One of the projects that received a special mention in last year’s edition of the Pfm, Ariel Escalante’s Costa Rican supernatural drama “Domingo and the Fog” is returning this year as one of the five films competing in Primera Mirada.
The forum is supported by the Idb Lab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group.
