Orphan Black follows outsider, orphan and street-wise chameleon Sarah. After witnessing a woman's suicide, Sarah assumes the strangers identity - who happens to look just like her. Expecting to solve all her problems by cleaning out the dead woman's savings, Sarah is instead thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery as she realizes the dizzying truth - she and the dead woman are clones. As Sarah searches for answers, she discovers the chilling fact that there are more people like her out there - genetically identical individuals who were planted in unsuspecting birth parents and nurtured in completely different circumstances. With no idea who created the clones, she'll need to discover the reason in a hurry as an assassin is killing them one by one. Written by Annonymous
For a show produced by BBC America, I have to say the production quality for this show is very good.
While being a science fiction of sorts it's smart enough to focus more on the characters and plot then the science premise. The human cloning is a backdrop, at least in the first episode as the protagonist tries to sort out what is going on and take advantage of the situation she finds herself in.
I've only seen the first episode which premiered tonight, but so far the show has promise and I will try and catch future episodes as they air.
The only complaint is I feel the show was a bit rushed, the main character and the viewer is forced to absorb and grapple with a lot of information, and the scene in the last 5 minutes of the premiere episode could have waited until the second episode before introducing another huge twist.
