Mary Pat Gleason, a prolific character actress with more than 100 TV and film credits, including CBS’ sitcom Mom and A Cinderella Story, died of cancer June 2, according to a post on her Facebook page. She was 70.
Born in Lake City, Mn, Gleason began her decades-long career in 1982 with a role in NBC soap opera Texas. She went on to star as Jane Hogan in daytime drama The Guiding Light, and won a daytime Emmy as part of the writing team on the show, which ran for 72 seasons on CBS.

Exclusive: CBS Television Studios has signed a first-look production deal with Propagate, the company led by Ben Silverman and Howard Owens. The agreement covers scripted projects from Propagate as well as subsidiaries Electus and Big Breakfast, across all platforms.

The “Once Upon a Time” alum has joined Jordan Peele’s “Twilight Zone” reboot at CBS All Access as the star of an episode titled “Point of Origin.” The anthology series’ installment will also feature James Frain and Zabryna Guevara.
Goodwin is best known for her roles in HBO’s “Big Love” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.” Her other credits include the animated film “Zootopia,” “Walk the Line,” “Killing Kennedy,” “Mona Lisa Smile,” “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton,” “Something Borrowed,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “A Single Man.” She also appeared on stage in the plays “The Corn Is Green” and “Dead End.”

His passing was confirmed by Propagate Content co-ceo Howard Owens, who worked with Lyle at NatGeo. The cable channel has scrapped plans for a TV adaptation of the former Fox News host’s 2014 bestseller Killing Patton, according to our sister site Deadline. The book, co-written by Martin Dugard, theorized that World War II general George Patton may have been poisoned by Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin; the TV adaptation was first announced back in November 2015.

You can all put your boomboxes back in the closet: NBC will not move forward with a Say Anything television series.
Following objections from director Cameron Crowe, 20th Century Fox TV has shelved the project, which was intended as a sequel series to Crowe’s 1989 film, our sister site Deadline reports.
Crowe, who reportedly had no knowledge of the project before yesterday, took to Twitter to clarify his stance on the matter:

The National Geographic Channel is switching its attentions from the assassinations of presidents, to the assassination of religious figures – with a four hour mini-series adaptation of the 2013 book Killing Jesus, by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. As the follow-up to the successful TV versions of their earlier books, Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy, the project will be written and executive produced by Walon Green (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), with Christopher Menaul (Summer In February) in the director’s chair.
This re-telling of the life and death of Jesus is set against the backdrop of intense conflict within the Roman Empire, and will now star multiple Emmy award-winner Kelsey Grammer (The Expendables 3) as King Herod – “the unrelenting and ambitious Roman King of Judea, who attempted to kill Jesus at his birth.” Stephen Moyer (True Blood) will feature as Pontius Pilate – the fifth prefect of Judaea, and the man who ordered the crucifixion of Jesus.
