Exclusive: Former CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl and Cannonball Productions principals Sean Hanish and Paul Jaconi-Biery have completed principal photography on a documentary series about the famed 1982 Milwaukee Brewers.
Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers chronicles the ups-and-downs of an almost championship season. The story is about the love affair between a down-on-its-luck blue collar city, and a perfectly matched blue-collar team — one that continues to this day, 40 years later.
The ’82 Brewers, known affectionately as “Harvey’s Wallbangers,” made it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series, only to lose. But then, in their lowest moment, the city threw the Brewers a parade that rivaled any celebration thrown for a team winning the World Series.
“They say never meet your heroes because they are bound to disappoint. But I can attest, these ballplayers deliver insights, recollections and stories about the magical summer of...

Minnie Driver played grown-up Wendy Darling in NBC's Peter Pan Live!, but unfortunately, she didn’t get to fly. Instead, the About a Boy star provided the show’s narration and in the end, watched as Peter and her character's young daughter flew off into the night.
Despite a flurry of Internet reactions during the telecast, the three-hour musical event pulled in 9.1 million viewers – a good showing for a primetime program, but still less than half the number of people who tuned in for last December’s The Sound of Music Live! with Carrie Underwood.
Though she was backstage at the show, Driver is keeping quiet about any technical mishaps that might have happened during NBC’s second live musical event.
"I’ll never tell," she told Et, but insisted there were no major malfunctions. "Astonishingly, there was hardly anything that went wrong."

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

It’s a good day to be a television fan. No matter what you’re watching, the WGA has you covered, honoring an eclectic round-up of small-screen entertainment for its annual awards ceremony. Thursday morning, Writers Guild of America, West (Wgaw) and the Writers Guild of America, East (Wgae) announced nominations for outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio, and promotional writing during 2014. Winners will be honored at the 2015 Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City. No one show dominated the WGA’s various categories. "Game of Thrones" and "Mad Men" nabbed nominations for individual episode nods and Drama Series, while "True Detective" squeezed into the latter category along with a mention in New Series. Amazon Prime’s "Transparent" is the heavy-hitter in the comedy category, earning spots in the Comedy Series, New Series, and Episodic Comedy categories. Check out...

Last night the 2014 Emmy Award winners were announced with "Breaking Bad" taking home top honors with five wings including Outstanding Drama Series, followed by "Modern Family" with three wins including Outstanding Comedy Series. FX programs "American Horror Story: Coven" and "Fargo" each took home two awards including an Outstanding Miniseries win for "Fargo". Meanwhile, new shows such as "Orange is the New Black" and "Silicon Valley" went home empty handed and for all the fanfare it received in its first season, including 12 Emmy nominations, "True Detective" only took home one win, that being for director Cary Joji Fukunaga". Personally, I don't give a lick about the Emmys, it's right there with the Grammys in terms of worthless awards shows for me. It's a show wherein people must nominate themselves and while most award shows are no better, this one is down there near the bottom for me. So, with that said,...

Breaking Bad’s amazing final season always meant that it was a likely winner come awards season. However, the debut of the critically acclaimed True Detective earlier this year did leave many wondering whether it might rob the end to Walter White’s story of one final sweep of prizes at last night’s Emmy Awards.
As it turns out, Breaking Bad would end up being rewarded for those amazing final episodes, though True Detective did earn a very well deserved award for director Cary Joji Fukunaga (who helmed all eight instalments).
The UK was represented by Sherlock, and that too did exceptionally well, walking away with Emmys for Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and writer Steven Moffat. Looking at the results, it’s hard to imagine anyone being too upset with the results, though many Game of Thrones fans won’t be happy to see that it was again snubbed.

The Lifetime movie “Return to Zero” is a wrenching drama about a couple coping with the death of their unborn child, and a film that landed Minnie Driver her second Emmy nomination as a mother struggling with devastating loss. The drama from writer-director Sean Hanish turned to Kickstarter to raise enough money to complete its post-production, and received contributions from more than 700 families of stillborn children. What was the toughest thing you had to do in the movie? The toughest thing I had to do in the movie was to go to an extreme, emotional place I had never been.

Television fans, the moment is finally here! Mindy Kaling and Carson Daly woke up at the crack of dawn to announce the contenders for the 2014 Emmy Awards this morning (July 10).
There is plenty of hype surrounding this year's nominees, due to the high caliber performances that spread across both the drama and comedy realms. One of the biggest stories for the upcoming award show is HBO's series "True Detective" choosing to submit as a drama instead of a miniseries. This puts up plenty of competition for fellow dramas including “Breaking Bad,” “Mad Men" and “Game of Thrones."
As for the comedies, newcomers "Orange is the New Black" and "Silicon Valley" are expected to put up a stiff arm towards its competitors like "Veep" and the always-successful "Modern Family."

The 2014 Emmy Nominations were announced this morning, and like always they will please and upset people depending on whom you talk to. The great news is that TV Drama is alive and well; it has to be celebrated and just a nomination for attention makes me happy. If you haven’t been watching or have watched shows like True Detective, Fargo, Louis, and Shameless, maybe it’s time. The quick snub I saw would go the mentioned Shameless and the performance by Emmy Rossum (pictured above). She was perfect this past season and watching her on screen was consistently memorizing; another season is on the way thankfully.
The best new TV shows of the year, Fargo and True Detective share a lot in common. Both shows are doing one and done seasons meaning each season is set to have a new cast and with True Detective a new location. They...

The nominations for the 66th Emmy Awards were released this morning, and I’m surprisingly satisfied with the results. Though there were an overabundance of nominations for the so-so Netflix series House of Cards and not nearly enough (read: any) for BBC America’s criminally-underrated Orphan Black, including for lead actress Tatiana Maslany, the categories shook out in a mostly predictable, if fair way.
Of course, heavyweights Breaking Bad and True Detective will be duking it out in the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series categories (the latter of which saw both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson swipe nominations). Other shows which scored big include American Horror Story: Coven, dominating the Miniseries categories, Game of Thrones, which has the most nominations at 19, and Fargo, trailing just behind with 18.

The 2014 Emmy Award nominations were announced today and led by HBO's "Game of Thrones" with 19 total nominations. New show "Fargo" scored 18, followed by "American Horror Story", "Breaking Bad", The Normal Heart and not too far down the line "True Detective" with 12. The one show I love and continue to watch, "Hannibal" received zero nominations, but then again, I have never paid too much attention to the Emmys, primarily because people have to nominate themselves, something I've never understood. "Game of Thrones" 19 "Fargo" 18 "American Horror Story: Coven" 17 "Breaking Bad" 16 "The Normal Heart" 16 "Saturday Night Live" 14 "House of Cards" 13 "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" 12 "Downton Abbey" 12 "Orange Is the New Black" 12 From a network perspective, leading the pack was HBO, coming in just one nomination shy of a 100 and it wasn't even a close race with CBS coming in second with 47. The first major awards ceremony honoring this past year’s accomplishments on the small screen took place last night as Cedric the Entertainer hosted the 2014 Critics’ Choice Television Awards from the Beverly Hilton. I’ve always preferred the Critics’ Choice Awards to the Emmys, just because my views tend to line up more with the members of the Broadcast Television Journalists Association. This year was no different, as a number of highly deserving actors, actresses and shows were honored.
Allison Janney was the clear winner last night, taking home two Critics’ Choice TV Awards. Some of the biggest shows on television went head to head. Here's who came out on top.
All the hottest names in TV turned out for the 2014 Critics Choice Television Awards on June 19, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Cedric the Entertainer hosted the gala event presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, and the night was really a battle between two cable channels.
Premiere pay-cable network HBO had a whopping 18 nominations, but in a show of strength for a smaller cable channel, FX topped that with 19. Meanwhile, the big contenders for individual shows were the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, the CBS drama The Good Wife, FX's crime dramedy Fargo, Showtime's drama series Masters Of Sex and HBO's The Normal Heart, all getting five noms each.
Also, Netflix struck a blow against the traditional television hierarchy with their original series Orange Is The New Black competing in several key categories.
