The person who wrote the check makes Alicia uncomfortable from the start, but raises the stakes when he calls her again later. The Good Wife -- After Alicia tells Kalinda about the mystery check she found and the weird phone calls, Kalinda buys a giant sledgehammer and breaks open her wall, from which she pulls out a ton of cash and a gun. Storyline

Alicia Florrick is the wife of a former state attorney for Cook County. He has been imprisoned after a sex and corruption scandal. Alicia must deal with the public humiliation. She must also fend for her two children. After years of being a housewife and mother, she returns to work as a litigator at the law firm Stern, Lockhart & Gardner.
