Better warm up the TiVo, Team Jacob; Us Magazine reports that New Moon hunk Taylor Lautner will be testing out his comedic chops on December 12, as the host of Saturday Night Live. (Apparently, SNL's attempts to woo Lautner's co-star, Robert Pattinson, have so far fallen flat.)
The questions abound: Do you think Lautner has the sense of humor to pull off the gig? Do you think T-Laut will spoof his classic The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D? Perhaps most importantly, how many skits do you think will require Taylor to doff his shirt? Share your predictions in the comments

Chances are, I will never watch Robert Rodriguez's The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D. However, I have now watched the video of Taylor Lautner promoting the 2005 film on Access Hollywood by showcasing his extreme martial arts skills three times. Seriously impressive and screaming Gymkata Remake! (No, I'm not ready to let that dream go.)
Watch that video after the jump, then check out two more clips in which young Lautner discusses his first-degree black belt ("I like this belt," he giggles, "It's like silk") and how difficult it is when your focus is constantly shifting between school and

Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift may have yet to confirm their rumored relationship, but if they do, Miley Cyrus wants them to know that she has their back.
The Hannah Montana star, who's friends with both the Fearless singer and the New Moon hunk (she's known Lautner "for, like, a really long time," since she auditioned for the 2005 classic The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D), said in a radio interview last week that if the two are actually dating, she's A-ok with it.
Said Miley,
"The Taylors? Oh, I don't know. I'm not into the drama. I have no idea [if

Taylor Lautner got public attention after starring as Sharkboy on 2005 movie "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D". Recently, his co-star on the film, Kristin Davis, said she is still concerned about his personal life.
"I'm just a little ... I feel protective, like what is he doing without his shirt on? And then I hear he's dating people and I'm like, 'Ahh!' " the "Sex and the City" actress told MTV News. Gushing about Lautner, Kristin stated, "He's a great kid and he works really, really, really hard and he had a great professional ethic when I worked with him. [He was] nothing of those negative things that you think of with child actors. So for anyone to be succeeding, I'm happy for him."
Recalling the time when she filmed "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D" along with the 17-year-old hottie, Kristin said, "Oh, the youngster! He was the Sharkboy, and

Kristin Davis knew Taylor Lautner long before he was the beefy heartthrob from the "Twilight" flicks. The "Sex and the City" star worked with the 17-year-old when he played Sharkboy in 2005's "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D," and like any proud mom-type figure, she's happy to see how far he's come.
"Oh, the youngster! He was the Sharkboy, and I played the mother of the other kid who imagined Sharkboy and Lavagirl in Robert Rodriguez's movie, and I met him down in Texas. He was a kid," she enthusiastically told MTV News about her former co-star. "He was a kid and he didn't have those muscles, and I don't know what happened. I see these pictures [now and] I can't believe it.

Feeling a little maternal, huh, Kristin Davis?
The Sex and the City actress starred in the 2005 classic The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D with current Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner, and four years later, she tells MTV that she still feels very mommy-ish toward T-Laut.
Says Kristin,
"He's a great kid and he works really, really, really hard and he had a great professional ethic when I worked with him. [He was] nothing of those negative things that you think of with child actors. So for anyone to be succeeding, I'm happy for him. I'm just a little ... I feel protective,

It's official. Here's the press release as posted by Ain't It Cool News:
Taylor Lautner To Reprise His Role As Jacob In New Moon
Los Angeles, CA January 7, 2009 – Summit Entertainment and director Chris Weitz are pleased to confirm that Taylor Lautner will reprise his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight franchise’s next film installment New Moon.
“I'm very happy that Taylor will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit, the producers and Stephenie Meyer,” said Weitz. “The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books
