Remember how Liam Neeson, at one point in his career, decided he would play only action heroes and how most of his recent characters were basically Bryan Mills from Taken in a different context? Well, it seems that another acting legend has chosen the same path, as Oscar-winner Russell Crowe is once again going to play an exorcist in the upcoming movie The Exorcism, which is set to be released on June 7, 2024. Now, the first official trailer for the movie has been released and we are going to show it to you below.
Now, our introduction was – in case you do not know – like this because Russel Crowe starred as an exorcist in the 2023 movie The Pope’s Exorcist, which – believe it or not – has absolutely no connection to The Exorcism. It seems that Crowe liked the previous role so he decided to reprise it but in a completely unrelated movie.

"Can he be saved?" Vertical has revealed the official trailer for a horror thriller film titled The Exorcism, starring Russell Crowe - though it's not related to his other exorcism film The Pope's Exorcist from last year. This was originally titled The Georgetown Project, but they gave it this new title that will confuse people into thinking it's related to the classic The Exorcist. Though it sort of is. This film is made by Joshua John Miller, son of actor Jason Miller, who played the doomed Father Karras in the original Exorcist film. It's inspired by his experiences growing up knowing his dad played that role. A troubled actor begins to unravel while shooting a horror film. His estranged daughter wonders if he's slipping back into his past addictions or if there's something more sinister at play. Also starring Ryan Simpkins, Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, Samantha Mathis, & David Hyde Pierce.

Yesterday, the folks at Vertical let us know they’d be dropping a trailer for the horror film The Exorcism (formerly known as The Georgetown Project), which stars Russell Crowe and is set to receive a North American theatrical release on June 7th, online today. Sure enough, a trailer for The Exorcism has just arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above!
Crowe recently played real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth in the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist, which could turn out to be a franchise starter. He actually worked on this movie before making The Pope’s Exorcist – in fact, The Exorcism was first announced four and a half years ago. So it’s good to see that it’s finally making its way out into the world.

A couple days ago, Vertical announced that they will be giving the horror film The Exorcism (formerly known as The Georgetown Project), which stars Russell Crowe, a North American theatrical release on June 7th, with the streaming rights going to Shudder. Now the Motion Picture Association ratings board has revealed that they have given The Exorcism an R rating – and we’ve learned that the film’s trailer will be dropping online tomorrow!
The Exorcism has been rated R for language, some violent content, sexual references and brief drug use. This isn’t the first time the movie has been given an R rating, as it was previously given an R for the exact same reasons last June, when it was still going by the title The Georgetown Project.

Russell Crowe recently played real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth in the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist, which could turn out to be a franchise starter… but before Crowe made that movie, he made a different supernatural thriller that deals with exorcism. Four and a half years have gone by since it was announced that Crowe had signed on to star in a film that was then known as The Georgetown Project, with Joshua John Miller directing. Now retitled The Exorcism, that film has been acquired by Vertical for a North American theatrical release that’s scheduled for June 7th. The streaming rights are in the hands of Shudder.

For those of us who remember going to the movies in 1977, we were treated to Star Wars, Smokey And The Bandit, The Spy Who Loved Me, Airport 77, The Car, Orca and Capricorn One. There was a rich wealth of movies to choose from and a time when audiences in their local cinemas would cheer and clap for the heroes. Then on December 14, 1977, coming off the success of Jaws, that director Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi masterpiece graced the screens. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind was the filmmaker’s next movie and, along with star Richard Dreyfuss and the magnificent score from composer John Williams, took audiences on a journey of mankind’s first meeting with aliens and let us know we are not alone in the universe.

Also announced Thursday:
• Steven Spielberg will participate in a Q&a with Howard Suber — the UCLA faculty member at the center of the recent six-part TCM documentary The Power of Film — ahead of a director’s cut of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977);

The Losers return to a very familiar place: ‘Salem’s Lot. But things look a tad different in 2004.
Starring Rob Lowe, Donald Sutherland, Samantha Mathis, and the late and great Andre Braugher and Rutger Hauer, this TNT miniseries updated the 1975 novel by shifting the vampiric action into modern times. This affords the narrative a more topical lense, particularly the mutual feelings of a nation still reeling from 9/11 and the ensuing war overseas.
Join the Losers in the popular Stephen King town as they weigh in on the miniseries’ 2004 vibes, the eerie connection to Wolves of the Calla, the changes to the source material, and the phenomenal cast — particularly Sutherland and Brauer. They also debate whether it’s cynical or earnest, why all the characters are jerks, the edge lord vibe of it all, and its connection to a more recent miniseries cut from the same cloth: Chapelwaite.

The word is all over town. After leading SAG-AFTRA to an historic new deal with the Hollywood studios, Fran Drescher has leverage, rediscovered fame and momentum.
Could she use all that to transition into a political career?
“This has been a great launching pad for her. So it wouldn’t be unusual for her to try to make that leap,” said Jorge Flores, a Los Angeles-based political consultant who has run campaigns for Congress and state offices.
“Certainly she has raised her profile significantly, and has developed a base with certain constituencies across labor,” he noted. “I could see her potentially running for Congress on the sort of issues that she’s been dealing with in SAG-AFTRA. Macro issues as far as cost of living, equity issues, is where I think her platform would be aligned with a member of Congress.”

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, the prequel to the 2019 remake, explores some of that history without any purpose other than to deliver entertaining jolts and a potent reminder that Jud Crandall was right: sometimes dead is better.
Writer/Director Lindsey Anderson Beer, sharing writing credits with Jeff Buhler, sets the prequel in 1969 to introduce a young Jud Crandall (Jackson White), who seeks to leave Ludlow behind with his longtime sweetheart Norma (Natalie Alyn Lind). Never mind that Jud can’t figure out why he’s managed to evade all the Vietnam war drafts; there’s an unspoken sickness rotting the roots of Ludlow, an evil desperate to spread across the town. Jud learns firsthand about the evil when Bill (David Duchovny) buries his son Timmy Baterman (Jack Mulhern) in the cursed burial ground.

"That's not Timmy... Something's talking through him." Paramount Plus has revealed an official trailer for the direct-to-streaming horror film Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, which is actually a prequel to the famous Pet Sematary book by Stephen King. It has been adapted into movies twice before: originally back in 1989 (the better movie), then again for the 2019 Pet Sematary flick from Paramount. They're trying to keep this horror series alive! Set in 1969, before the events of the previous film, the plot follows a young Jud Crandall about to leave Ludlow, Maine, when he discovers a local cemetery where everything dead can be alive again, without imagining the horror that will affect his life. Pet Sematary: Bloodlines stars Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star Lablanc, Samantha Mathis, Pam Grier, and David Duchovny. This looks like a generic direct-to-video sequel, a shame because the original story is scary...

The prequel stars Jackson White (Tell Me Lies), Forrest Goodluck (the upcoming Lawmen: Bass Reeves), Jack Mulhern (Mare of Easttown), Henry Thomas (The Fall of the House of Usher), and Natalie Alyn Lind (The Gifted). Additionally, Isabella Star Lablanc (True Detective: Night Country), Samantha Mathis (Billions), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown), and David Duchovny (The X-Files) star in the original horror film based on Stephen King’s bestselling book.

"Pet Sematary" is often hailed as one of Stephen King's scariest books. Hell, part of the marketing campaign for the book itself talked up the fact that it scared even King himself — he was so put off by how nasty the story was that he reportedly put it away in a drawer and didn't want to publish it. Eventually, though, King's tale of terror saw the light of day, and Hollywood came calling. "Pet Sematary" was first adapted to the screen in 1989, followed by a sequel in 1992. Then, in 2019, we got another adaptation, one that severely altered the source material. Some people were cold on the 2019 film, but as a big "Pet Sematary" fan, I dug it.
Now, that 2019 film is getting a prequel with "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines." The story follows a younger Jud Crandal — Jud, you'll recall, is the nosy neighbor played by John Lithgow in the 2019 film. A...

There was a large crowd in the room when SAG-AFTRA and Hollywood’s major studios and streamers formally began contract bargaining negotiations on June 7.
About 80 participants from both the labor and management sides gathered at the Sherman Oaks headquarters of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers for the first day of what everyone knew would be a difficult negotiation for the performers union, which has been on strike since July 13.
One big presence in the negotiations process who was not there in person on Day One was Fran Drescher, president of SAG-AFTRA. But Drescher had no trouble making herself heard that day. She addressed the gathering via video conference call from Paris, where she was attending a family wedding. But she had no trouble getting management’s attention.
Drescher gave something of a 10 to 15 minute opening statement to the room that set off alarm bells on the management side.

Sharpen your ax, order new business cards, and crank up some Huey Lewis and the News because the LA-based comic book publisher Sumerian is bringing an American Psycho comic book to shelves. According to Deadline, the four-issue series, publishing later this year, “will have a dual narrative, one showing a different perspective of Bateman’s killing spree (with a notable “twist”) and another revealing a modern-day arc with “surprising connections to the past.” The new arc is a sequel to the 2000 thriller from director Mary Harron.
Sumerian’s American Psycho comic book centers on “an all-new psychopath as social media obsessed millennial, Charlie (Charlene) Carruthers, goes on a downward spiral filled with violence. Horror fans, get ready for a new trip to the pet cemetery. Paramount+ has revealed the first look at the upcoming prequel to Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, titled Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. The prequel will explore the origins of the cursed burial ground that brings back the dead, but not as they were before.
The first look image shows a brown dog walking on a dirt path in front of a sign that reads “Ludlow”. The dog is presumably one of the pets that will be buried and resurrected in the prequel, and the sign indicates that the story will take place in the same town as the original novel and its adaptations. The image has a vintage feel to it, suggesting that the prequel will be set in an earlier time period than the 2019 film.

Author Brett Easton Ellis is known to broach subjects that are uncomfortable or outright horrifying, but it is with his 3rd book that he went for the throat so to speak and tackle a more traditional genre topic in a thoroughly nontraditional way. American Psycho was quite controversial upon its release in 1991 and the film based on it in 2000 (watch it Here) was divisive then and it’s divisive now.
Take a look at the craftsmanship on that card as we find out what the f*ck happened to this adaptation.

Christian Bale starred in the 1994 film Little Women during his rise to mega stardom. The movie starred a predominantly female cast, which Bale once quipped he felt a male possessiveness over.

Little Women was a 1994 film adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott novel of the same name. The movie featured an ensemble cast that included the film’s star Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, and Susan Sarandon. Bale was soon cast as Ryder’s neighbor and potential love interest in the feature.
A much younger Bale first became vaguely aware of the project after a meeting with the film’s director Gillian Armstrong. But at the time of the meeting, Bale confided that he understood very little about the details of Armstrong’s movie.

Picketers gathered outside Warner Bros. in Burbank today found themselves buoyed by a unique presence: Flavor Flav. The hip-hop icon-turned-reality star showed up to cheers from the assembled WGA supporters.
Dressed in a festive yellow-and-blue track suit and wearing a demure (for him) red clock around his neck, the Public Enemy also brought a boombox and blasted the group’s classic “Fight the Power.”
Possibly even better, Flav brought a lot of food.
“A true spread of burgers and pizzas at Warner Bros courtesy of Flava Flav!” wrote Abbott Elementary writer-producer Brittani Nichols on Twitter above a photo of the rapper delivering at least a dozen boxes of grub.

It was true in the early '90s and it remains true now: Mario is the king of video games. To this day, there's arguably no mascot more recognizable for an industry worth billions and, by the end of the '80s, Hollywood was starting to realize this whole video game thing was here to stay. Naturally, that meant capitalizing on the popularity with a major motion picture. It also meant that Nintendo's "Super Mario Bros." was the white whale of IP that any studio could hope to get their hands on. In 1993, the result of producer Roland Joffe's unlikely bid to win those rights hit theaters and set the tone for video game movies for years to come --...

Luigi is the man. The green-capped, younger brother of Mario—as well as the one with the far more luxuriant mustache—jumps higher, runs faster, and looks plain cooler while doing it. This is a truth that’s universally acknowledged by gamers of a certain age. For if you were a younger sibling growing up sometime in the ‘90s or late ‘80s, you were always Player 2. You were always Luigi.
I was one such player, the kid brother of a sister who adored Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Nes. There were thus many an afternoon spent waiting for my turn to play as the Italian plumber who’s dressed like it’s always St. Patrick’s Day. However, beginning with the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 in 1986, Luigi has low-key been designed as the better character with higher and further leaps, albeit less balance and traction in his landings.
