Banned but Timeless
2 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Man, I remember this, I had a copy of this in one of those old compilations of Daffy Duck cartoons, way, way, back, when I was a kid. I can recall the Hirohito duck and his weird "Enrgish" singing and that parody of Hitler's speeches added with the "my momma a told me" and the Mussolini duck with the applause sign, and the only audience was the little fowl bound by a ball and chain. I also recall the marching of the three dictators with the "one, two, buckle my shoe..." and so on, and so on. Wooooo! All those years ago, these memories I had with this, and now on my age of 20, I can hardly believed that this was banned! But I would say it would be okay to watch this for fun or if you want to know a little about WWII, but you'll love it, it's good. By the way, that was not Daffy, during the salute, it was some lookalike, and there was this cut ending, where, after the rabbit knocks himself down, the three ran, only to be shot by a soldier coming out of an ad, and then the dove tells his children he hates war, but he chose no to run, and the there's three that didn't get away, then we see the dictators heads mounted on the wall, then some message says this is possible, all you have to do is buy United States Savings Bonds and Stamps, For Victory. I guess they cut that out because the advertising became useless after wards.

Hey Mr. Garrison, ever read the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe?
18 January 2006
No? Neither have I, after hearing about this from my friend, I wondered what it would be like, if it might be just another overrated blockbuster, or if it was going to be good, well, I must admit I enjoyed, even though I found the earlier parts boring, but because I decided to stay, I was able to be more open minded to it, more attentive and decided to give it a chance, and it really is a true masterpiece, enough for the whole family to enjoy, it was colorful, dramatic, full of suspense and action of the LOTR variety, and it was mesmerizing, an eye candy and a wonderful story and lessons about working together, and trust, and who said anything about Christianity? As a Christian I didn't see anything about it, except for the reference to Genesis, but that didn't explain anything to me, sorry to say that, but that's just how I see it. My only complaint is the release date here, because it had a reference to Christmas, if it was released in December, it would have made more sense, but that's just me, it didn't matter to anyone else and it didn't make it bad, it was good either way. But I really have to read the books to know more of it, so must everyone else who enjoyed to feel the magic of it, or maybe they already did, hope they did. Anyways recommended to the whole family, if I did read the book, and did a report on it, I would give it a good review, and A, sorry Cartman, you get an F, I did not find this camel you said, I don't know what you were reading.

Comment on a film when you're less excited
11 October 2005
After hearing about another installment of the Living Dead movies, I was excited, after seeing the movies and remakes, I wasn't sure how it would appeal to the new audience, or how it would have a social commentary or how it would be about, I only heard it would have things Romero wanted to do for Day of the Dead, but couldn't do it because of the cost, and space. So after hearing that, I wasn't sure what to believe, more of a mixture of emotions, will it fail or will it capture the feel of the old movies(especially with the idea of running zombies nowadays). But after seeing it, I must say it truly was a Romero film, and it was excellent, though maybe to others it wouldn't(thanks to today's zombie movies, but I think they are okay), but still it had the feel somehow, it had a bit of a social commentary of what America(maybe the world) has become, like the idea of the rich being in big buildings protected and the electric fence around it, keeping the zombies out, but it has also become almost like a prison for the people in it. But the idea of the dead being able to communicate and use weapons, well it wasn't bad(there was a zombie that uttered a word, almost in Day right?), it looked a lot more impressive than running zombies in my opinion. The only problems I have, is that it didn't have enough time to explain the story of the characters in the film and not enough of them were interesting, well I think the zombies were very interesting, so was Cholo and Kaufman, but others seemed very predictable. Overall a decent horror film, and it shows in my opinion that there is still light on Romero's Dead films. be sure to spot Tom Savini reprising Blades of Dawn of the Dead albeit a zombie, and Simon Pegg of Shaun of the Dead, my other compliant is that Nick Frost(Ed) wasn't included. Oh well, good film anyways!

Weird Anime Excel Saga (1999–2001)
Funny, very funny, if Mel Brooks made an anime, it would look like this.
17 September 2005
And I mean this is a very funny anime with a lot of parodies and spoofs, with other typical jokes and scenes you'd expect from an anime. The story is as follows: so-called heroine(anti-heroine?)Excel works for some crazy guy who lives in his basement, and looks like a stereotypical villain in anime, and tries to take over the city F City then the rest of the world blah blah blah blah, and keeps failing, and they have another associate the anemic Hyatt who keeps dying, and their neighbors, Watanabe, the poor unfortunate guy with idiotic roommates, and is also in a group trying to defend the City, and Pedro the guy who died and is kept by the Great Will, a universe with womanly arms and voice, who keeps the story in order. Overall a very funny anime series, and like I said if Mel Brooks worked on anime it would look like this, except the only things that are missing are the Jewish jokes, Leslie Nielson, and Mel Brooks himself saying "we have much to do and less time to do it in". Instead we have Nabeshin and Koshi Rikudo taking their roles, with Rikudo saying I hereby give permission to have Excel Saga as... and so on. Expect to see spoofs or at least references to Sailormoon, Dragon Ball Z, Love Hina, Doraemon, Fist of the North Star, Gundam, Titanic, Mickey Mouse, Looney Tunes, American gangster films, Aliens, Star Wars, BioZombie(a Hong Kong spoof of Dawn of the Dead), Lupin III, Di Gi Charat, Golgo 13, etc. I also recommend watching Parallel Trouble Adventure Dual! another spoof/parody, Galaxy Angel, GTO, and Eden's Bowy. They are also funny like this.

Brilliant film, too bad it never got the credit it deserved.
17 September 2005
An excellent film about the great depression fighter Jim Braddock who started as a poor has been prizefighter because of a broken right arm, and does everything he can for his family, driven by love, honor and an incredible dose of grit, he willed an impossible dream to come true. In a last-chance bid to help his family, Braddock returned to the ring. And he kept winning and inspired many people who are suffering under the great depression, because even though he is old and a bit of a has been, he never gave up, and he revived the American Spirit of 'never giving up' to them(which is why he is called the Cinderlla Man). Braddock rocketed through the ranks, until this underdog chose to do the unthinkable: take on the heavyweight champ of the world, the unstoppable Max Baer, renowned for having killed two men in the ring. But I think Max Baer portrayed as that was a little too much, but ya gotta love Craig Bierko's performance. Ron Howard did quite a good job at this, but too bad it didn't sell too well at the box office, this is great stuff here, too bad all the attention went to other overrated blockbusters such as 'The Dukes of Hazzard' and 'Bewitched'. But you gotta give this credit, it is worth watching, great acting and drama, watch this, you'll love it too believe me.

Forget Pearl Harbor, this is THE war movie.
1 September 2005
My brother was the first one to talk about this, I wasn't sure what to think so I decided to look out for it. Last week, I went into the mall, I saw this being advertised, and hearing it is a war movie, I decided to check it out. I missed the first credits, but that didn't really matter, about the film, I must say this was a very decent movie unlike the ones which were released the same day, it lived up to it's title and story, it was based on a book, what do ya know? Anyways back to the film, it tells the true story of the 6th Ranger Battalion, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Mucci who undertake a daring rescue mission against all odds. Traveling thirty miles behind enemy lines, the 6th Ranger Battalion aims to liberate over 500 American prisoners-of-war from the notorious Cabanatuan Japanese POW camp in the most audacious rescue ever, and audacious it sure was! The fight scenes were kinda impressive, and the scenes with the underground organization were okay, it showed accurately how the Japanese treated our people here during that time. Overall an impressive film, and Cesar Montano was convincing as a the captain of the Philippine forces and he did his role well. Recommended to all movie goers who would like to know about WWII in the Pacific, especially to the people of my city, and especially the Japanese people, even though others there might not get it, others would, at least it is more accurate, true, and this time it got the mark, unlike Pearl Harbor. But one more thing bothers me, why was this pushed back indefinitely by Miramax a few years ago? Was it because they wanted it to be in line with films 60 years after the war ended, or was it because of the war in Iraq? I hope the war in Iraq is not the reason, because this film is about World War 2.

Full Metal Panic! (2002–2006)
"What is your major malfunction dirtbag?" is what was missing, and is possibly what Kaname might have been thinking about Sagara.
22 August 2005
Wow, a very funny anime series that has a lot of stuff, action, comedy, romance, drama, a little psychological theme ala Evangelion, but not too much of it, but a bit similar, and the main character who acts a little bit like Heero of Gundam, except crazier! In this one, a secret military organization serving no certain country, with technology and military equipment that years advanced and is ahead of Japan, US and Russia, deals with dangerous situations and rescues people from terrorist attacks, now has to protect someone, a Japanese student who is said to be a "whispered" the ones who have knowledge about secret technology, and is said to be targeted by terrorists, so they send someone, a 16 year old of Japanese descent to be the one to protect her, the 16 year old, who is Japanese, was raised in Afghani deserts and was trained as a child soldier, has had a lot of training, from unarmed combat, to piloting the M9 mechs, but has one problem: he doesn't have a clue of how to live in a normal environment with people his own age. So this maybe a tough mission for him. Overall a very funny show and perhaps one the best new giant robot animes out there, cool characters and beautiful animation, and intense action, and great comedy, especially the school scenes with Sagara, who still doesn't know a thing about high school or Japan. Sad. The only problem is that some of the characters, especially the bad guy, had very little character development, that the origin and explanation of their background was too vague. But overall a decent show recommended to all otaku, even to those who non or open to this type of animation.

Full Metal Panic! (2002–2006)
A light hearted version and side story of a great series.
22 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
After Full Metal Panic, one might ask, what is happening with Sagara and Kaname now? Well, this one explains it, well almost, albeit a comedic way, basically, this is more of a spin-off or side story and has nothing to do with the mechs or the action though some familiar characters such as Mao, Weber, Kalinin, Richard, and especially Tessa do make appearances in several episodes, and it mostly focuses on how Sagara does in living a normal teenage life, and still has the military mentality he always had, especially when challenged by the karate club, or thinking that the love letter he got was a bomb, and he still uses his weapons and gadgets he had during the first series! But mostly it's all comedy, no mech fights here, but maybe a little gun fighting, albeit non-lethal, but it is still promising, up to the last episode, you get a ton of laughs, recommended to it's fans, and be sure to watch The Second Raid, which continues the Full Metal Panic story. By the way, a few episodes weren't shown in syndication as the rest due to a kidnapping, the episode had a familiar scenario, so it was pulled off.

Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde version of The Inspector, and good at it!
22 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
In this one, after arresting a seemingly insane scientist, who keeps saying the cops are the ones who are crazy, The Inspector and Sgt. DeuxDeux investigate in his mansion, believing that a monster he created is still within the vicinity, until Deux drinks a strange potion which turns him into a monster, and keeps turning back and forth into it, but they still believe there is still a monster until the inspector chickens out when he finds Deux is the monster, until the real monster comes out saying how glad he is the two are gone, and how they frighten him. Funny but a bit predictable, I found the scene when Deux transforms and goes back to normal after seeing himself in the mirror the monster he became, and the ending where he keeps transforming back and forth very hilarious, I like that part, "No, no, don't leave me with that monster!" Anyways still a good episode, and funny too.

Hehehehehe.... A Classic Inspector episode
22 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I got to admit, I really loved those Freleng cartoons, Pink Panther, The Ant and The Aardvark, Roland and Ratfink, Hoot Kloot, and The Inspector was no exception, it was one of those classics that still make you feel good, and very memorable. In this one, the commissioner needs sleep, but some cat keeps singing, and the inspector tries to shut it up, only failing and ends taking the blame for it! Especially it being a holiday, he still tries to make sure the commissioner gets the sleep and peace he deserves, but to no avail until he gets the cat, and things become quiet for now, or do they? How many live is it a cat has?(or at least that's what people believed those days). A must watch episode for those who like this series.

The Ant and the Aardvark (1969–1972)
10/10
Fond childhood memories
22 August 2005
Back when in the States, I was like about 7 or 8, I always woke early, just to watch this, together with a whole bunch of other cartoons like HootKloot, The Road Runner Show, The Pink Panther. But this was perhaps one of the most memorable and funny animated works out there, and I still find it very funny today, I'll never forget the episodes, like the one where two aardvarks were fighting over the can of chocolate ant pudding? or the one where the aardvark is trying to reach the island where all the ants are at, and my personal favorite, the one where the ant, the aardvark and a dog end up in an animal hospital, which would later be the basis of a similar Looney Toon cartoon with Sylvester, Tweety and the bulldog. This is one of the most unforgettable cartoons out there in which anyone would love to revisit, I would. An excellent series.

Sure puts the 'F' in funny!
11 August 2005
F---yeah! Trey Parker and Matt Stone sure did a good a job in bringing this spoof of all the Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay films in this puppet movie that's also a spoof of the cult classic marionette action TV series Thunderbirds, and at the same time, it pokes fun at all political sides, though George Bush and John Kerry were missing, crap! But still, it is funny to see them make fun of all the clichés in action films and war on terrorism. In some ways, it does poke fun at America itself especially poking fun at how other countries see America, and make liberals look the way conservatives see them(I liked Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins and Michael Moore puppets),and make other nations look the way some people see them. And not to mention Kim Jong Il! He was very funny with the 'Ls' and 'Rs' and his song about him being lonely. Overall this has to be the funniest Trey and Matt made next to South Park, recommended to the fans of South Park, and to those who like adult humor, the spoofs here are hilarious! F--- yeah!

Johnny Depp never performed so sweet
11 August 2005
In this version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, I must say that Tim Burton did an okay job in adapting it to a new generation, though, I believe Johnny Depp's acting as Willy Wonka, was a little too exaggerated, I mean he acted a little weird, especially at the ending, but I must say it was clever, and he looked cool, the hat and the hair, he looked Marilyn Manson a bit, and he was really inspired by his look too. And I liked the way he spoke also, especially when he was reading the cards, and when he keeps getting flashbacks, especially when he remembers his dad, I liked that part. And I must say the umpa lumpas(not sure if that's how it's spelled) were very cool, and I liked their songs. Overall a nice movie, but another remake, but it is not one of those bad ones, but still, this has to be one of the most promising movies out there, and this being a Tim Burton film, most of his films are amazing.

Godzilla (1954)

This is really Godzilla
4 August 2005
Yes it is, unlike the Jurassic Park rip that Emmerich and Devlin tried to pull off, this is a true kaiju film, the real Godzilla that we all know, that went after people, trampled houses, tore down buildings, roared so loud, and showed no fear, it was unstoppable, gigantic, and most important of all, it had fire breath weapon! Just like a giant cross between a dinosaur and dragon, it caused rampage all over Tokyo, it is born from the bombs of US, supposedly to go against the COld War, and nuclear weapons in general, it is not anti-US if that's what you're thinking, and sure it was black and white, Japanese, and the effects aren't as good as today's standards. But still, you cannot deny the terror and the film that is Godzilla! Still good after 50 years, this was the film that had the kaiju eiga started, perhaps the most recognizable and best of all of them. Watch this, this is great, even though it looks old. Give it a chance.

I remember this!
4 August 2005
This is the Godzilla which I watched as a kid, back when I was still in the States, this movie which features a hatch ling of Godzilla's kind, though goofy looking, it was cute and silly, and it blows rings of energy instead of the flame Godzilla does. It has a parent-child relationship like story between Minya and Godzilla, like when the giant monster insects attack, Godzilla helps it, and tries to show it how to really use the fire breath, but then it improves in the end, and it also shows that Godzilla really does care for the young one after all(awwwww). And of course it has its shares of giant beasts that dare challenge Godzilla, and the hapless humans who get caught in between, especially the giant spider that traps them with a web. Bad dubbing, no sfx, just extra parts to use as special effects, goofy designs, but overall a good movie, better than the US Godzilla(1998). It is worth adding to the collection for every Godzilla fan out there.

Intense
4 August 2005
The alternate ending, which most speculate is the real ending is astonishing, and great, though it did leave room for more questions to be answered, and it seemed to be more on the psychological side of the story and goes very deep to that in the middle of it towards the very end, it did have good action in the beginning and a lot of gore, blood and violence, but I have to admit the middle part was interesting but there was little character development, and some scenes were unnecessary, I mean what was the relevance of the live action sequences and scenes which looked like letters? But still it was interesting and solid, and a great musical score and soundtrack, though the ending was vague. I know a lot of people didn't like the way the series ended, but I think it was okay, though someone told me that this is the real ending, and the last episode is more of an epilogue, not a climax, so I must this is a very promising film for the fans.

The Island (2005)
7/10
Skeptical at first, but then...
3 August 2005
What do you know? It's great, the action, the plot, though not original, it is said to be a remake, but it was a good one, better believe that! It is about a group of naive humans sheltered in this futuristic metropolis after they've been told that the world has been destroyed, and they do labor in the place their in, and there is this lottery, that if they are selected, then they can go to 'The Island', the so-called last paradise on Earth. Until one of them played by Ewan McGregor, discovers that they are actually "spare parts for rich people in the real world, in short, they are clones, and to the perspective of the scientists who created them, "what's wrong with killing them? They aren't even real people." And Licoln Echo Six, together with the winner, played by Scarlett Johansson, escape and try to find a way to end what they are doing to the others. Overall, a very good popcorn flick, with a great action, and a great cast, I loved Djimon's character also, and a great plot, depicting human cloning. Michael Bay did a good job, even though, according to several sources, that he is said that he didn't buy the rights for this, I heard this is a remake of a B-movie called The Clonus Horror, or something, and I heard the director, I think he is named, Robert Fiveson, and he might sue them, but I'm sure they will reach a compromise, my thoughts only! Overall, better than Pearl Harbor! End of a Comment: I forgot about dissing this more than Michael Bay forgot to buy the rights for The Clonus Horror, when he made The Island. I changed my mind about him making movies more than he changed it from being a B-movie, And that's an awful lot there. And now, now I liked this, and the point is: The Island is better than Pearl Harbor and I like it. I need to see it again more like Michael Bay needs a good lawyer if he ever gets sued. I need it more like Ewan McGregor needs a different look, he looked just like Christian, the CLB from Smackdown. And now, all I can think about is seeing this movie again! The Island did not suck and I wish to see it again. Why does Hollywood have to keep on remaking movies? I guess The Island is better than Pearl Harbor, just a little bit more than Fiveson needs to calm down.

Sin City (2005)
10/10
Sinfully delightful
26 July 2005
One of the most shocking, and most intense, thrilling shocker movies, ever made, Sin City does it all, with it's action, and noir like stories in the fictional city, which is full of crime, murder, scandal, prostitutes, corrupt officials, politicians, gun toting, sword wielding women, and a lot of other depraved sickos, and you get to hear each person's side of the story, of the situations of what's on and what's happening in Basin City, especially what's happening in the outskirts of the city, especially the one in the farm, which seems to reminisce the murders of Ed Gynne, and Elijah Wood's character was kick ass! Each scene features black in white, mixed with color in some scenes, with red in the cars, and the blood, though some of the blood is white, perhaps for legal reasons, and also in one of the segments, there is color, and the cars also get different colors. Robert Rodriguez did such a good job in making this adaption onto the big screen, with the help of Quentin Tarantion of Kill Bill/Pulp Fiction/Reservoir Dogs fame! I must admit, this surpasses both Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction in terms of plot, and action. Recommended to all who enjoy Rodriguez's films and action films, especially violent ones, and to the fans of the original comics, and I heard there is a sequel in the works, and I feel overwhelmed with joy, hoping it will be as good.

The Pianist (2002)
10/10
A great blend of emotions, depicting the horrors and nature of the Holocaust
21 July 2005
An excellent film about a musician making his way through the holocaust, and great and convincing acting by Adrien Brody, an excellent blend of emotions depicting the harshness that the Jews went through those times. I must admit Roman Polanski did a very good job showing us the misery and suffering of Poland during the days of Hitler, the holocaust and the horrible inhumane things they did to them, which could shock you and make you sympathize the people in it. Adrien plays a pianist who is very successful in Poland but during the outbreak of the Second World War, however, he becomes subject to the anti-Jewish laws imposed by the Nazis. By the start of the 1940s, he goes from piano concert halls to the Jewish Ghetto of Warsaw and then must suffer the tragedy of his family deported to a death camp, then into a forced German Labor Compound. Overall, a true work of art, and a compelling movie which would make you cry and sympathize the people, seeing how they were killed, and you would enjoy it too, great work of Polanski despite his past, which I will not discuss. Recommended to those who like dramatic movies about WWII and others.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
9/10
Fast paced, wacky, and cool!
19 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
One of the best films out there, and one of the films that made Quentin famous, Pulp Fiction is one of those films that are thrilling and clever, that it makes you want to see it again and again. Though, it is non linear and it is more of a character based movie, it remained solid and entertaining, you see that the criminals or assassins are more than just interesting and cool. The dance scene was kinda funny, it was good to see Travolta dancin again, though not from the way he used to, and I liked also the scene where they try to inject Uma's character, and when she got up, that was amazing. I liked also the segment of the watch, the one with Bruce Willis. When he bumped into Ving Rhames' character, that was cool, and I also liked how they got back at the cop and store owner, and I must say Sam Jackson's character was very strange, but still, he was great and convincing in his character. Definitely a must see for those who love fast paced movies, and those who love Quentin Tarantino's work.

Mixed signals
15 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
As a fan of the classic movie and the novel, I must say this film, was worth my money. It was different, but the important parts of the original story, that's where it was faithful, though it seemed a bit plot less, but it had one. Here's my analogy of the film:

How it remained faithful(spoilers ahead): 1.The narration at the beginning, the only thing that changed was the year, instead the narrator says 21st century, but hey, it took place in our time right?

2.The way the aliens came, not through flying saucers.

3.The structure of the ships, they were pods with tentacles, that tore down buildings, used blood from humans, and shot heat rays, and they didn't use flying spaceships, or saucers.

4.The three escaped into the country side.

5.The military fought hard but it was in vain.

6.There was a scene where they escaped to the sea though a ship.

7. How they were stopped.

Changes: 1.The story focused on a family, the Ferriers and not a scientist.

2.The way the aliens came, instead of a cylinder, it was lightning.

3.There were no reports about invasions, just storms.

4.No fight at sea.

Despite these changes, I must say that this was a very promising movie, that is worth checking, and a great performance by the actors, and great return to alien sci fi for Spielberg. But, stop comparing this to Signs, OK? Thank you.

The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991–1996)
A great cartoon ahead of it's time
9 June 2005
This cartoon is the first show I saw on SNICK back then in Nickelodeon back in the States and perhaps one of the best I've seen. Though it had gross humor, and the animation was bizarre, enough to give a kid nightmares, but even so, this is one of the best shows to come out in the 90s next to Rugrats, Beavis and Butt-head, and the humor in it was also funny, it's a shame Nick didn't like too much, but despite that, the audience it drew cried for more, more, more, more, more, and more! It also influenced other cartoons, such as 2 Stupid Dogs, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, and Catdog. But I say this is better than any of those, though it also had a bit of controversy, due to the fact that it was shown to 6 year old children and Nick thought it was too adult, but hey, it was a fun run. I'll never forget it, those were the good old days, Nick had some fine shows. My favorite episodes were Circus Midgets, An Abe Divided, Ren's Retirement, Sven Hoek, and Monkey See, Monkey Don't.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002 Video Game)
Calling Crockett and Tubbs, and the A-Team!
9 June 2005
Tommy Verctti is on the loose! In this spectacular sequel(prequel?). Another great GTA game, with a lot of great surprises, and everything else you'd expect in a GTA game, gangs in which you do the dirty work for, driving around in cars, running over people and property, picking up girls, blowing things up, starting fires, shooting guns, all in a city depicting the 1980's Miami, plus, you get to purchase properties, this is also the first one in which you can buy properties and make money from them, change clothes, change guns, and more mêlée weapons, like a chainsaw, knuckles, and a golf club, and more vehicles, like a golf cart, and motorcycles(which GTA 3 lacked) and helicopters! And you also have your own mansion and henchmen. Overall a great game, with great enhancements, and graphics, and great 80s sound, my only complaint is that some of my favorite 80s songs are missing, most of them are great, but there are some missing. Very good game, excellent, great work Rockstar, buy it! By the way, if you buy the PC version, you can put your own songs, try putting 80s tracks in it, like the Miami Vice theme and play it while you're on a boat.

Grand Theft Auto III (2001 Video Game)
Liberty justified!
9 June 2005
This is one of the most entertaining and controversial, yet wonderful games out there. Though it received heat from parents everywhere and other countries tried to ban it, it is without a doubt one of the best, and one of a kind out there(Do they think younger ones would play this? This is for older ones). Well it may not be for everyone, due to the violent content, grammar, and sex, but hey it is a satire of everyday life, but mostly depicting a grimy, rough city, supposedly this is supposed to be New York, where you control a nameless(we shall learn his name in GTA:SA!) and speechless gangster who's been wronged by the gang he worked for, now he goes freelance in the Pulp Fiction-esquire environment of Liberty City, where you work for different gang factions, just to do their dirty work. But that's not it, you can also walk around steel a car, and do whatever you will, it's non-linear! And because it is, you don't have to do some of the missions, though most of them are part of the story. This is one of the best and it is the first game of it's kind I played. If you like this play also Mafia(more like a 1930's GTA to me), GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas, thank you Rockstar, it's good, see.

Well done, but a little empty
7 June 2005
In this movie which is supposed to be a fictional re-enactment of the Columbine incident, Gus Von Sant gives us this movie about an everyday normal life turned into chaos when two seemingly outcast teens start rampage shootings in their school. I must say, this is fascinating and disturbing, and it was well done, you never know what really caused the boys to go insane, and to tart shooting, just as you don't know the reason why the Columbine kids did the shootings too. Though a very shocking film, in which the scenes were done in a documentary like way, it lacked total character development of the other students, for example the girl in the library, and the blonde guy, and the big black guy, they were just there for a short while, and the big guy Benny, had no lines, what was he supposed to be anyways? And it seemed as if though everything was non-linear, everything that was shown in each scene of the character happened at the same time, especially with the blonde guy at the beginning when he saw the two, he asked what they were doing, when we knew what they were about to do. Well at least it has you wanting to see it to the end, and it has you wondering, though it leaves you feeling empty at the same time. Still it was good.
