Triangle of Sadness (2022)
Traingle of Bordom
Wow...that many reviews and so many overwhelmingly positive. I had to watch this. But I did not know that the whole movie is about some low-level jokes about some rich guys on a yacht. Cookbook plot with steady bashing of the rich, some anti-capitalistic critics, topped with some left-wing schemes.
If the exercise was to make a political correct movie about the some rich extravaganca, alright, done, now, please go on. I am not sure why every critic is forced to write the same positive review, but I guess this is the times, where every one has to write those reviews. How could one not be serious about labor exploitation (if any in this movie...)?
It is a merely critical satire about rich people. Mocking over this is mainstream. Don't care about if it is funny or deep or any thing, which makers a movie watchable and interesting. And Woody Harrelson, come one. If he is in, then it must be good. But no, it is not, is is just some cheap trick with cheap laughs and a cheap story line.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
Language
Is it really necessary to have the f-word at least 152x in one movie? The other words, I didn't even count.
I don't think so, it could go without, too, and become a decent action movie.
No Time to Die (2021)
Finally, political correct mainstream has taken over.
Now, we can finally watch, how some thing SHOULD be. And the end, bravo. That does it really. I feel sorry for Craig to be part of such a shame.
And in 5 years, when mainstream has changed, again, we change it too. All actors must be of equally adjusted color, sex and gender, political views included. No sex scenes without a coach, no alcohol without some subs, no brutality and blood and gore, etc. Etc.
Awful, really really awful.
Nuevo orden (2020)
Wanted too much.
Nothing more to say. Also, chaotic and confusing. The green water was only for show. And not everything which cant (shouldnt) be explained has a deeper or intellectual meaning, which could be interpreted into the movie.
Overall, I liked it and it is funny to see how a revolution eats its own children. Mexico is the right place for this movie, down south, lots of examples how it works.
Smashed (2012)
For anyone who thinks, getting and staying sober turns your life to sunshine and honey...
This is your movie. As sad as it is, getting sober is non-negotiable, even with a partner. Hopefully, some stories like this work out in real life in a more nicer way, but life is as it is.
Anyway, staying sober does not change your life to milk and honey, it just gets more real and we have to deal with that. I also miss getting drunk lot of times a day, but in the end, staying sober is the only choice. That does not mean, an alcolholic wont stay an alcoholic, we just take a life time vacation of it.
I am glad in a way that this movie has not a happy end in the way of having a couple riding into the sunset 😀
F9 (2021)
Why did you do this to us?
After some minutes, remember the stunt with the rope, I thought: oh come on, don't be so critical. But it did not stop, it did continue till a car drove by earth.
So, I ask myself: why did you do this to us, to me? Me, 45 years old, always liked the later series because of the nice cars, driven and acquired by the crew. This time, the most dangerous and valuable car was some Nissan, I guess. Also, many characters were just recycled in some stupid "revival" plot.
I think, a series like this should retire and vanish in pride, don't make the Bruce Willis on it and make one stupid movie after another just to fill up the cash box.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
I expected the worst...
...and the Movie did not prove me wrong, at least the first 20mins. Then, I switched off and took some walk.
I didn't expect, that with all that money, glamour and stars, there could be an outcome like this, really, I am pretty disappointed. But maybe this is what you get, when you do an action movie, from women for women. I don't even know if women do like this flick, but I am pretty sure, the intro scene with all those wild Amazons drives away most of the women.
Vivarium (2019)
Very Brave Idea...
...but I wouldn't advertise it as "comedy", just because Jesse Eisenberg is in it.
The plot develops slow, but solid and I must say, I was nicely surprised, my kind of style. I guess, it was some brave decision to make this one. But nice, very nice....
Peppermint (2018)
Revenge movies can also be female!
Now, it is official: Revenge movies can also be played by nice, handsome women. It is not only Denzel Washington or Liam Nesson, who are able to act seriously, play hard and produce some real revenge story :-)
Ghost World (2001)
Short, describing, honest
This movie was really beautiful! I am deeply impressed by the story and the acting. With only a few actors (good ones, like Steve Buscemi), the whole plot was overwhelming and suspensing. Maybe, the movie is more a drama than a comedy, but some things a so sad and depressing, that they are funny, too. Take for example the man, who is waiting for the bus, which never comes. This is a nice example of the large pool of pictures, the movie maker draw.
For the fans of happy endings, I can't promise you, that you get what you expect. I was little set up about the ending, but, it leaves room for further reflecting and thinking about the whole plot. This movie reflects sometimes the world of us inside. So, by watching this movie, be sure not be carried away too far, you will get back to real life after the end.
High Heels and Low Lifes (2001)
me likes British charm!
First of all, I did not expect a lot of this movie, don't know why, but the title sounds a bit sluggish. But after watching this movie for some minutes, the well-known feeling of the movie "The Snatch" came up to me and made me feel familiar. This movie is not as deep digging as "The Snatch", but design and humor come from the same isle, real British charming. Moreover, Minnie Driver made that movie complete. So, grab it , it's worth watching!
The Skulls II (2002)
worse than the first part
sometimes, coffee tastes like being brewed twice, so does this movie. first part was not more than average, second part was not more than the worst. same scheme allover the movie, this movie is just for killing your time!
Hearts in Atlantis (2001)
Moving Fairy Tale
nice and beautiful, catching and moving, like a good movie should be; fans of happy-ends may be disappointed, but the story itself is some kind of happy end
