Elizabeth should've known better

The Secretary of State should only attend to matters concerning the country with foreign power, not meddling in states affairs.

Being Careful...
dtporter-886-88302024 December 2018
Let us make sure we never broadcast teleplays which deal with troublesome topics. Otherwise, we'll create a viewing public who cares about said topics. I suggest we delimit teleplays to bland issues so people can use TV for the purpose for which it was intended--entertainment which facilitates lockstep adherence to society's accepted mores and values.

Best episode of the whole show
yosvaniramos22 July 2019
Funny how these two episodes ruffle some feathers with some people, obviously Republicans who are giving these episodes a 1. Guess what, this is the current reality in the USA, what's actually happening here. I'm glad this season the show has decided to touch on current issues like this. I give it a 10.

Breaking Point
grammydawn-434041 January 2019
Very sad to say goodbye to this show. This episode was so blatantly bigoted (yes, bigotry swings both ways) that I had to give up. I have lived in Arizona for over 50 years and can honestly say I have never seen such a poor representation of the people of this state. We do not talk like hicks, wear poorly shaped cowboy hats or fear brown people. There is room for political disagreement, but not for the demonization of those who hold different opinions. And the absolute biggest misrepresentation was that the ninth circuit would not issue an injunction against the "law". I expect a modicum of reality in my TV viewing unless I am watching fantasy.

liberal bias is over the top
jodi-4452816 July 2019
This episode just about ruined this show for me. This year's liberal slant is so blatant. I have no problem showing difficult issues, but too many shows are going this way. This felt like propaganda, not a television show.

So what is the timeline of this segment? Was this during the obama terms
MasterChief717 January 2019
I watched this episode with a skeptical eye as the recent episodes of this series seem to be more and more politically motivated rather than the work of writers with an imagination that wanted to "entertain" their audience. No matter how you look at it, they FAILED all around. We see a female Secretary of State visiting the border where it appears that everyone living down there is some kind of a backwoods clown who's gotten too much sun. Great job writers, you nailed it - seriously, you couldn't be further from the truth but hey don't let FACTS get in your way. Kind of like this "Family Separation" at the border was done under the previous administration, ya know POTUS44 as well as more recently. It just wasn't played up in the media because that just wouldn't be right for Hollywoodland to tell the REAL TRUTH especially when a liberal is in the White House. I'm hoping we get to see the Secretary of State get Locked up in the episode tonight as that would be quite fitting and most justified in real life, you know when HRC was the Secretary of State. This will be the LAST episode I will be watching as I prefer to watch entertainment on TV unless it's a News or Factual show, nonsense like this episode fits neither.

Might as well watch CNN

This show has completely lost its way and strangles itself with TDS. Too bad they decided to only appeal to the liberal left and abandon the other half of the viewers. Count me out.

Hysterical!
donktamblyn25 September 2019
This episode brought this show into the realm of a fantasy satire and farce. If the series was intended to be that then I would give it a 10. This series has always been rather loose and free of reality, but this episode took it into a mental delusion. Having the marijuana lobbyist in the episode may have been the inside joke of the writers Barbara Hall and David Grae. They must have smoked some really mind expanding stuff to come up with this.

I see several people on here have said they weren't going to watch the show any more after this episode. If I had been watching it on network TV week to week I might have felt that way too. On its face this episode is meant to project a point of view that in today's atmosphere would alienate a swath of viewers. That is a damning thing for a show to do. If they believed they were making a serious comment on immigration policy, they missed it by a 1000 miles.

I'm still going to watch this show, and laugh my head off from this point on. The more ridiculous the better. Of course if the Television Academy wants to nominate this show for any more Emmy Awards, it needs to place it into the comedy category.

DC gone Hollywood Pro-Liberal Propaganda Piece
Justin-354-2183793 October 2019
Hollywood Pro-Liberal Propaganda Piece. It is disgusting how CBS and other networks embed biased and slanted presentations of loaded political topics in to main stream TV Shows. The intent is not to talk about topics like immigration but to indoctrinate the masses to their way of thinking.

Shoving a narrative down viewers' throats that never gets challenged here
johnjohn-003 October 2020
This was the worst episode of the entire show storytelling wise. This episode exists solely to push a narrative down the throats of the viewers. Elements of the episode that are supposed to mirror real-life events are either exaggerated or just simply made up. And because of the nature of a TV show, and the bias of the writers, the dominant narrative never gets challenged (because they don't want you to see the other side), and this results in a one-sided opinion and a grossly biased TV episode. Completely irresponsible writers. Also, I find it funny how they're telling this story now, and not in 2014 when the cages were built (Snopes confirms).

Bias nonsense
lupemendozaphone23 March 2023
Not sure what happened this season but the total twist of reality is so over the top. This issue was begun by a liberal president Obama and they make it a conservative state issue?! This season been one liberal talking point after another sucks cause was a good show. I thought they had been doing a pretty good job of keeping it a entertaining political fiction that was bridging both sides of the political aisle and entertaining the masses. I hope it stops here otherwise this will be one more of the main stream network shows I write off forever. Pretty sad time when the entertainment world is running off half of their audience.

Liberal garbage topic.
taxmom4151 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If this wasn't so infuriating it would be funny. The characters argue about how separating children and parents is unconstitutional... then list amendments meant to apply to American citizens and not foreign nationals... especially those held in custody for illegal acts.

Sure wish out federal government spent half as much time trying to PREVENT illegal crossings as they do trying to dramatize this into some sob story.

Two underlying questions everyone arguing wants to sweep under the rug: 1) What parent drags their children into danger and then commits illegal acts??

2) Please tell me what US prison allows family groups to stay together inside custody??

Hollywood - get off your soap box. How many crash and burn attempts are needed before you get back in your lane. Dog and pony show get back doing your tricks and leave the sermon for the pulpit.
