I see that I'm not the only one who was confused by the lack of information from last week's episode to this weeks. Had no idea what was going on. That's not the first time it has happened this season. Still enjoy the show though.

I thought I was watching the wrong episode

So I went to look here in case I had the wrong episode.
The time jump is too jaring. Even spending ten minutes of lead up would have helped. Hell five minutes would have helped. Still enjoy the show and so I will keep watching.

No follow up from the previous episode

Suddenly the Bowmans or whatever they are called now have a house and jobs and Gracie is fine while at the end of the last episode they were going to be caught lying about their real identities and the little girl was close to death. Did the writers get all fired and the new crew was not given any instruction about the story?
By the way now the shaky camera technique for even scenes where the actors do not even move is raising its ugly head again. Is it really that much cheaper to adopt this stupid technique even when there is no need? I already stopped watching one series because of that so I guess Colony can be next.
Great Time Jump

Warning: Spoilers
I was afraid that Colony would fall on starting all over with a rehash of the family in L.A. block , with only the location changing.
They managed to skip all this and let the audience figure it all out and not hammer them with exposition. Will Bowman walking through his house in the morning, going thru his wife without acknowledging each other, was a great shot that showed visually the story instead of explaining it in 30 minutes of dialogue. The rest shows how the death of their son has impacted in opposite direction. The mother, who was the rebel, has now paid the blood price and becomes the anti rebel of sorts. The father went in the other direction - he seems to have lost it all and cannot recover and think rationally with regards of survival for him and his family.
Moving along

Not sure why everyone upset it skipped passed unnecessary dialogue. Sure bit of a time jump though not confusing got straight to what it's like in Seattle and was shown quite clear how it is now for the Bowman's. I enjoyed this episode interesting to see how different one block is from another and the affects it has on the family.
Good epsiode

Another good episode. Its really sad to see how low some ppl's iq are in the reviews here.
Its obviously a good reason they let the famliy keep the new name and everything else with it. How can you judge something when you havent watched it completly yet? Jezes.

It's like they skipped a couple episodes

It's like they skipped a couple episodes. Not sure what's going on here, but there was no continuation from the previous episode. It's like they lost a couple episodes and decided just to go with this one. If they keep this up I'll have to stop watching my favorite show.
Time warp?

A very weak link in a strong series chain

I'm just now catching up on Season 3 of Colony (I missed the first 11 episodes because it wasn't advertised or promoted anywhere that I saw; no wonder the series has been canceled). Like everyone else has said in their reviews, it was so disorienting to jump months into the future with no explanation. I thought surely there would be flashbacks or some sort of tie-in with the previous episode, but no, it was as if the skipped an entire episode or two.
But even more weird than that is the lack of continuity from the last episode. At the end of that one WIll was shown being caught lying about who he and his family were at his "interview" in Seattle. And that was just... dropped? Wow!

A bit confused

I thought maybe there would be some sort of explanation at episode's end, perhaps that the characters were undergoing some sort of VR experience to ascertain whether or not they would fit into the colony, but no. It seems a few weeks or months have passed and they're just living their (vastly different) lives. I don't mind when stories jump about a bit, but this show has consistently done very well with character development. I hope it goes back to doing that.
Jumped ahead and landed on a shark
edward-a-bowden11 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As all the other reviews allude, this episode has no place in the timeline of the first 2½ seasons, and just isn't believable even in science fiction.
The Bowmans just turn up in Seattle, jump ahead of all the queuing vagrants and all but the girl land decent jobs using false names, despite the authority knowing who they are.
The first episode of season two shows how good colony could have been, but the writers just weren't up to it.
