I've got a trailer here for a new horror thriller starring Katee Sackhoff (Oculus, Riddick, Battlestar Galactica) called Don't Knock Twice. This looks like it could be a fun and creepy horror movie as it deals with a vengeful demonic shape-shifting witch who is out for blood. Here's the synopsis:
“Knock once to wake her from her bed, twice to raise her from the dead…” So goes a disturbing urban legend involving an abandoned house supposedly inhabited by a vengeful, child-stealing witch. When troubled teen Chloe (Lucy Boynton) raps at the door one night, she has no idea the horror she’s about to unleash. Fleeing to the country home of her estranged mother (Katee Sackhoff)—a recovering addict who’s turned her life around to become a famous artist—Chloe must learn to trust the woman who gave her up years ago in order to stop the bloodthirsty, shape-shifting demon stalking them.

“Goooooooood morning, Vietnam! Hey, this is not a test! This is rock and roll! Time to rock it from the Delta to the D.M.Z.!”
Good Morning, Vietnam! (1987) screens Thursday November 3rd at 7:00pm at Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue Maplewood, Mo 63143) as part of the ‘A’ Film Series “Culture Shock”
Good Morning, Vietnam! stars Robin Williams in the role he was born to play: the irreverent, non-conformist deejay Adrian Cronauer. Imported by the Army for an early a.m. radio show, Cronauer blasts the formerly staid, sanitized airwaves with a constant barrage of rapid-fire humor and the hottest hits from back home.. The GI’s love his style but the commanders aren’t so thrilled with his comedy. Sidesplitting comic bombshells and studded with hot ’60’s hits, the film depicts Cronauer’s raucous Saigon adventures amid a world gone mad. Williams is brilliant in his portrayal of Adrian...

Jeff Pope, whose other works include Mrs Biggs, Mo and Appropriate Adult, is receiving the accolade for his creative contribution to television.

Pope said: "Alan Clarke was a hero of mine, and I am delighted to have been honoured with this award in his name.
"I have been lucky enough to work with some extraordinarily talented people, and this is a moment in my life to look back with gratitude to all those who have helped me achieve.
"Writing is all about facing down the tyranny of the blank screen, but my message to all aspiring writers is that once you've hit that first key, you discover it's really not so difficult as you'd imagined."

Julie Walters is such a legendary actress - who's been in all sorts of beloved films and TV Shows - that it's no surprise she was awarded a BAFTA Fellowship earlier this year. And now, her career will be examined in a new TV show airing tonight (Christmas Eve).
We caught up with Julie recently to chat about her varied career, so read on to find out why she wishes she'd kept something from the Harry Potter set, why slippers with bobbles bring back bad memories, and why she wants to be a Bond villain...
Was getting the Fellowship a nice chance to look back at the highs and lows of your career?
"Yes. Well, you don't really look at the lows. To be perfectly honest, when you get it, I don't look back at anything really. There were clips, weren't there? Yes, of course there were, on the night.

Julie Walters is one of those people who really does seem like a national treasure. She's done it all, from comedy to drama, over an amazing career that earned her a BAFTA Fellowship earlier this year.
We were lucky enough to pop along to a Q&A with Julie last night - launching BAFTA's new live strand A Life in Television - and she was funny, interesting and always entertaining. We've collected together just 18 amazing things we learned - from why Educating Rita made her cry to her crush on Hugh Bonneville to why dancing and Julie do not mix. Read on for all that and much more...

In case you’re out of the loop (and if you’re a fan of the Outlander series, I’m rather certain that you aren’t), Starz is bringing you an Outlander TV series in 2014, and you now have a couple more names to add to your list.
Graham McTavish will be playing Dougal MacKenzie, and Gary Lewis is Colum MacKenzie.
It’s alt-fiction, time travel, bodice-ripping, Scottish warfare… ok, actually, I barely know what it is. But, I know Diana Gabaldon’s series is massively popular, and we have another cable network hoping to spin a series into the next thing everyone has to talk about. The cast seems to be shaping up nicely.
Starz in association with Sony Pictures Television has announced today that Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, “24”) will play Dougal MacKenzie and Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot, Gangs of New York) will play Colum MacKenzie...

It’s a John Travolta kind of day. How long has it been since we said That? All kinds of exciting things are happening in Travolta-land and none of them include Battlefield Earth or weird allegations of sexual misconduct! First, there’s the announcement that Joe Johnston will direct Travolta in the Gotti biopic. Now we have news that the star will playing a very different type of criminal in Philip Martin’s heist movie The Forger.
The Forger is all about Ray Cutter (Travolta), an art prodigy turned petty thief who buys his way out of prison in order to spend time with his ill son. Things go wrong, of course, and he’s forced to do ‘one last big job’ for the guys that helped him get out of prison.
The story sounds pretty standard, but the proof will always be in how it’s carried out. Travolta...

She's won more Baftas than any other actress. Here, Julie Walters tells Euan Ferguson about her hippy years, life in the country and why it's never been a better time to be a woman on TV
Other multiple Bafta- and Emmy-winning actresses might have flung toys from the pram, or at least raised a manicured eyebrow. The restaurant at the photo studio had courteously but undeniably told her they'd run out of basically everything she might have wanted. Julie Walters smiled and forgave, and smiled again, and pretended to enjoy choosing the remaining dreadful rabbit-food option. Then, out of the waiter's sight, laughed like a drain when I suggested she'd have had better luck choosing from the other (blank) side of the menu; then turned down my offer of a cup of coffee instead because, "No, I'd talk you to death if I had a cup of coffee."

I haven’t been too hot on the next from Pixar (or the last, for that matter), but things are starting to look up. Following the release of a scene last week, we’ve got the first TV spot for Brave. Airing during the Academy Awards (why don’t more studios debut footage there?), it features new footage feature a locale you see above and a snowy mountain, which hints at more adventure than we thought. Perhaps most enticing is the choice of music here, Julie Fowlis‘ gaelic song Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird A’ Chuain. It is perfectly fitting here and you can see the spot below along with a live performance of the song.
Synopsis:
Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer,...

The 'Bad Romance' hitmaker presented 'American Idol' and 'So You Think You Can Dance' executive producer Nigel Lythgoe with the honorary International Emmy Founders Award and expressed her gratitude for "all the early opportunities he gave me to perform on TV".
Also paying tribute to the $140 million he has raised for charity through the Dizzy Feet Foundation and 'Idol Gives Back' and hailing him as her "favourite producer", she added: “He has always helped to nurture and foster my ideas, no matter how crazy or demographic-unfriendly they may have been.
“He always spoke poetically about the pursuit of widening the boundaries of love and acceptance in TV.”
Following a video tribute from 'American Idol' judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez and the programme's host Ryan Seacrest, Nigel used his speech to mock former friend Simon Cowell.

'The worst thing anyone ever wrote? "Julie Walters obviously thinks she's got good legs." That was painful'
What got you started?
I just had a desire to entertain from a very early age. When I was really teeny, I used to pull the curtains across the bay window and come out, play my plastic ukulele, and pretend to be Elvis Presley or Lonnie Donegan.
Who or what have you sacrificed for your art?
My health. I didn't realise how stressful acting is until I did [the BBC film] A Short Stay in Switzerland. There was a collage of my character having all these health tests. A real nurse was doing them, and she said: "Ooh, your blood pressure's really high." It was because she had taken it during filming.
Has fame been difficult to cope with?
It would be churlish to say it has, but it has its problems. It's odd for kids.

Alice in Wonderland by Rebecca Grant, 15
Tim Burton has snatched the beautifully eccentric odyssey that we once lovingly knew as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, wrung it dry of anything resembling the endearingly capricious originality of the children's classic, and slung the disgusting dregs into a pretentious, Disneyfied quest movie replete with, frankly, un-special effects.
Burton's insistence that his film was not a re-imagining or sequel to other "Alice movies" made me wonder whether he had actually read the book at all. Nineteen-year-old Alice, played by the apparently tranquilised Mia Wasikowska, spends a disproportionate amount of time at the beginning of the movie prancing around in a tediously twee caricature of Victorian high society. When the dopey antagonist finally wiggles her way into Wonderland, we are ambushed by the White Rabbit, the Dormouse, the Dodo, Tweedledum and Tweedledee all at once,...
