Must see for LEGO fans
john-7019027 May 2019
Amazing LEGO creations, interesting teams, entertaining host, family friendly and just right amount of drama. Takes the reality genre to another level. Only suggestion I have for the creators for next season, throw in some tips for viewers on some of the LEGO techniques used. So excited for more.

Amazing show

Watched every episode. Loved every one. Season 1 was good. Season 2 was better. Might have a bit of melodrama but is still amazing.

fan since season 1

Warning: Spoilers
Best LEGO Masters adaption ever! Hamish and Brickman are amazing and have such a fantastic chemistry.

The show honors every build and puts it into the spotlight, you can connect to the candidates and all of them have been unique and fun! Those two reasons are actually my main points. In comparison the US show doesn't honor the LEGO builds and it's hard to connect to candidates, pls don't even consider watching the UK version (it's just bad and cheap).

The AU version is just pure LEGO love - with Brickman as THE PRO - who isn't afraid to cry out of joy or cause he's simply blown away.

Hamish usually steals from the brick-pit and is such an amazing host (well known AU comedian).

All 33 episodes have amazing and creative challenges and sometimes a familiar face says 'hi' or sweeps the floor (; for all LEGO fans a must-see!

Not even the LEGO batman voice has a slight chance against the Aussie dynamic duo!

So much better than US version
ta-6064419 March 2023
I stopped watching the US version because it was mostly just an excuse for the host to move around the room and do little comedy skits. I like Will Arnett but I'm watching to see what the contestants are able to create; not his demo reel.

They'd get to the end of an episode and I'd realize they had shown very little of the builds; but lots of the host.

Sure in this one Hamish jokes around with the contestants but it isn't all about him. We actually get to see everyone's builds as they progress.

Brickman clearly loves Lego and his excitement shows; it makes it fun. His enthusiasm pull the audience in.

Hamish is brilliant
izzielauridsen24 January 2023
I love this show. It's super fun, it's not melodramatic or a bummer. Hamish (the host) is incredible at his job, and such a delight to watch. Brickman is humble yet constructive in his criticism as an expert.

I've watched it with my family and everyone loves it to pieces! I can't believe there's anyone out there who doesn't get warm and fuzzy feelings watching these seasons. I've watched season 1-2 and 4. And there all great and totally worth the binge!

I've seen this show from other countries, and I gotta say, Australia does it best.

Go watch it, it'll make you wanna build something creative!

So entertaining I've watched it twice
OwlCritic22 May 2023
Hamish Blake is brilliant as the host and makes this show incredibly entertaining to watch.

I'm not even into legos, but it really is quite impressive to see what people can do with it.

The contestants, for the most part, are kind, good-hearted people with a true passion for legos.

My favourite teams would have to be Jackson and Alex, Joss and Henry, Alex and Caleb, Gabby and Ryan, David and Gerhard, and of course, Scotty and Owen! :)

Favourite builds:
  • David and G's "War Planes" build (S01E03 - "Cut in Half")
  • Jackson and Alex's "50s UFO" build (S02E04 - "One Hanging Brick")
  • Gabby and Ryan's "Galaxy Girl" build (S03E09 - "Arcade Game")
  • Andrew and Damian's "Jack and the Beanstalk" (S02E03 - "Fairytale")

Honourable mention:
  • Scotty and Owen's "Sanctum Sanctorium" build (S03E11 - "MCU")

Such a great, entertainment show!! - I LOVE IT!!!!
francb-0526911 April 2023
It is an amazing, absolutely such a great show to watch. I love the entertainment and fun things within the show. I have been watching since season 1 and I still love it!!! My only one downside and comment I would like to address is about 'Brickman',. He is an amazing, nice intelligent and creative guy within Lego but, when he is judging the participants, he seems very harsh in a way when he speaks to them. Cause obviously not everyone is perfect at Lego like 'Brickman' so I think that he should say more positive comments to them and their Lego builds as they also do such an amazing job at building and how hard they work on them. Anyways, other than that I absolutely love the show and will continue watching until it is over!!!

Australia/USA Lego Masters
mattscottsw1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I reckon the Australian LM is far superior. Hamish and Brickman are far more relatable.

I do like how USA LM does the little stop motion animations and the CGI background sweeps though.

If Aus LM take that on board it will add a whole new level...really grabs the imagination in two very different ways.

Hamish and Brickman have a camraderie that is second to none. I feel like they were trying to develop a love/hate relationship over the seasons - but have given up and faced the fact they they are Mates as Mates go... :-p

Brickman's advice is far more 'directional' and less 'critiqu-ey' than the US version I found the US judges very 'judgy' (Ha!) - whereas Brickman nudges and directs the team...and he always has this little 'whatever' expression as he walks away. I think it's his defining meme!

Brickman 'builds'. Not just lego - but people. I feel his welling tears at eliminations. That bloke feels...

I also wasn't a fan of the US guest hosts leaving half way through the episode...seemed contrived - and some of them even mentioned 'agencies' and 'production'. If you're going to bring in a guest - let them judge and be something that 'matters' - that has an 'effect'... (imagine C3-P0 actually judging droids...that would have been hilarious - give him 3 points!!!)

We have Sophie Monk. ;-) And God bless her!

When she came in on a kart dressed as the Stig?

GOLD!

Loved the TV show episode as the guys wheeled her around on the couch eating popcorn (and Hamish; I understand the chips...it's a thing...can't help myself...)

Jus' sayin'...

Hamish is just Hamish - a Lego dad if ever there was one...

Hope you guys at 9 and LM see this...

Those stop motions and CGI sweeps are a thing...

Love me Lego

My opinion on lego masters
lochiedude13 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly I've watched this show since it came out and every build has been incredible but after season 4 i just feel like it fell off, don't get me wrong the humour is good and hilarious and Hamish never fails to make me laugh and in the finale of season 6 i really liked the final build. And it is an amazing show that's why I rated it a 9/10 but I just feel like it could be better just a little bit cause nearly every season is the same thing, but at the same time there's only so much you can do with a lego show , so the ideas that the crew and players have come up with in such short amount of time , I honestly think after lego masters Australia vs the world they shouldn't make another season or they'll just stretch it out too much

But still a good show.

Usual formula but interesting
viktor-2518 January 2020
The Aussies does it again. They did it with Beauty and the Geek and they does it again with this nice tv show. OK, it is very standard formula A1 and that's why I'm skipping all of the "suppossed" melodramy". If I could get a word out to the producers: we don't care about the participants backstory. It will come out naturally if you don't force it!

Too much production interference
leemeason17 March 2023
Focus on the builders and their builds. They're great. What they make is amazing. But production can't stop interfering and distracting from their efforts. If you watch the opening five minutes of the show you're shown the finished builds and the highlights. It's like seeing the end of a film at the start. Why bother watching. Too many handing out of advantages and disadvantages needlessly complicated the programme and adds nothing. The producers and the irritating presenter need to stop interfering and take a step back. Let the builders build. That's what we want to see. It doesn't need dressing up with stupid gimmicks!

Not about the LEGO. It's about melodrama
Tak0056 May 2019
I watched this in the hope that it would be different to other reality tv shows. In that it would primarily be about the LEGO building. However, I was sadly mistaken. It follows the same old tired reality tv format. The majority of the show was about the cheap melodrama between the contestants. Perhaps it's only saving grace is it's host, Hamish Blake, who attempts to keep it light. Nothing new, just the same as most other reality shows.

LEGO DRAG MASTERS
tcya-97-26593826 April 2020
They should renamed this series as LEGO Drag Masters. Milking every little bit for no good reasons. First episode is interminable. The UK and US versions are so much better in pacing. Serious problems with timing and pacing. 1 1/2 hours is way too long. This needs to tighten up so it's really editing problem!

Anyone other than the the ham hack
cantstandya1330 April 2022
Anything with this tryhard ham in it is just unwatchable, he's not witty or remotely amusing & makes this or any show severely unappealing. Please there must be someone with charisma and an actual sense of humour that can host these types of shows.

Over sensational and time wasting
gary-kramer12 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The editing is horrible and it deceives the viewer on how long the people are standing there building. Showing the pieces that are constructed is poorly done. The contestants have to act like trained monkeys jumping up and down with excitement.

Contestant interviews are out of context and waste time.

The subplot of Hamish owing fifty dollars was pathetic and not nice at all.

The way the pieces are judged it's not at all clear. And the way the winners are announced is totally annoying.

The creativity is fantastic. The skill of the contestants is amazing. None of this gets sufficient coverage.

And the nonsense about building "the brick" is infantile.

This is Season 5 and 6 review.
liad-257-6323956 December 2023
It's a shame that you've turned this into a private club. If you want to do a season for all past winners and finalists, have a special. Not a season.

Same people, same jokes, nothing new and the best part, the part in which we get to know the builders, their style, quirks and interests - was ripped out of the show.

I am not sure whose idea it was to run this format, but in my opinion, it was a miss, which is a shame for such a great show with an amazing, loyal crowd. Felt like you ran out of idea or was just too lazy to find new contenders.

I was hoping you will fix this silly format in season 6 but you decided to invite 4 of the same groups.

Are you telling us that there are no other lego builders out there? You are ruining Lego's reputation and popularity.
