The people have spoken. Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Costner will be sobbing into their breakfasts, for the film you wanted us to live blog today is Kathryn Bigelow's K19: The Widowmaker. What happened when Catherine Shoard sat down at 12:05 to watch it on Channel 4?
11.47am: It's matinee time again here at the Guardian; join us from noon for an upsetting tale of deep sea disaster.
12.04pm: Yikes - ok folks, slightly close call, but here in time for the credits I think.
12.04pm: It's beginning. Militaristic font there. With a little light Russia style string twanging. And definite ominous orchestral undertones.
12.05pm: So - based on true events. Set in 1961. Submarine distaster at the height of the Cold War.
12.06pm: Buttons. Action. Men. Uniforms. Liam Neeson doing faint Russian accent - the way to signify they're all Soviet rather than actually talking in Russian.
12.07pm: I'm finding this quite exciting.

Chicago – It’s easy to see why filmmakers like James Cameron are constantly inspired by the life forms that exist underwater. They are as fascinating and mysterious as any otherworldly being dreamed up a science-fiction author. BBC’s brilliant series, “The Blue Planet,” unearthed deep-sea specimens that continue to haunt my nightmares. It proved that monsters do sometimes hide in the dark, and exist only to feed (one fish had teeth so large that it couldn’t even close its mouth).
Of course, such images are guaranteed to terrify a G-rated audience, and “IMAX Under the Sea” offers a more cuddly, yet no less spectacular, look at creatures of the deep. It is filmmaker Howard Hall’s follow-up to his previous family-friendly documentary, “Deep Sea 3D,” and was released theatrically as “Under the Sea 3D.” Though no home entertainment system can come close to equaling the experience provided by IMAX 3D,...

Brendan Fraser won the first-ever "Best 3D Talent" award for his acting and producing roles in Journey to the Center of the Earth at the International 3D Society's Lumiere Awards. Tragically, the awards show was not hosted by the candlestick from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Full winners list after the jump. Avatar picked up six awards, of course. By the way, we know this event was held Tuesday. We just really, really like this picture, and judging from PopWatchers' response to Kate's "Brendan Fraser can do no wrong in my book. Yes, I'm serious" post, so will you. The...
