Cottam has decided it's time to move on, Briggs and Louis have arranged a granny-o-gran for him, unfortunately there's a mix up with her and Cottam's replacement, Superintendent Simmons, a stickler for the rules.
Another slice of zany, bonkers, Detective comedy. Briggs and Louis are on their usual form, hilarious. Plenty of funny moments, including the clown, the granny-o-gram, the medical and of course, Captain Careful, so funny.
The great Ann Mitchell plays the part of Simmons so well, and to my knowledge this is the first time we've seen a serious copper on the show.
The biggest surprise of all, seeing comedy legend Pamela Cundell in that outfit, what a change to her glorious time as would be Mrs Jones on Dad's Army, she seemed like a terrific sport.
