The Detectives is a very funny,engaging and well made British comedy series which has wisely chosen to be a low key outing. Jasper Carrott is easily one of,if not the best,comedian Britain has pulled out the hat.His chemistry here with experienced actor Robert Powell is positively sparkling. Both play experienced,yet unreliable,dishonest and bumbling anti hero copper partners,sent on risky assignments by their long suffering boss. Some episodes are certainly funnier than others ,but each features well written stories with good acting,good dialouge and great comic timing.
