Kate Walsh may have played a doctor on TV for years, but even she needed a push to visit a physician when she was feeling extremely exhausted and losing her train of thought.
Turns out, she had a brain tumor.
The Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice actress revealed to Cosmopolitan that she had a benign meningioma the size of a lemon removed in 2015. Though she’s now fully recovered, the health scare was a “wakeup call” for Walsh.
In early 2015, Walsh began to feel exhausted — though that seemed to be a given with her busy schedule.

Being a mom during the holidays can make Santa Claus' job look like a holly jolly cakewalk. As the head of a dysfunctional family in Craig Anderson's Red Christmas, Dee Wallace not only has to worry about keeping the peace, she also has to try to keep her family members in one piece when a killer crashes their festivities. With the holiday horror film out now in select theaters, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Wallace about her multifaceted new role, and we also had the chance to reflect on her amazing film career, including the legacy of Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and her experience playing Cynthia Strode in Rob Zombie's Halloween.
Thanks so much for taking the time to talk and congratulations on Red Christmas. I’m a big fan of your career, and one thing I’ve always appreciated is that you...

Earlier this month I had the gracious opportunity to interview director Dan Bush – best known for 2007’s The Signal and 2014’s The Reconstruction of William Zero. Bush’s most recent work – The Vault – is a unique blend between the heist and supernatural thriller genres; set for a September 8th release. Starring James Franco & Francesca Eastwood, The Vault’s theatrical release is a space to watch.
Dan, going from a largely independent film maker, ‘The Vault’ seems to be moving you towards larger ‘blockbuster’ style features. Is this kind of filmmaking & releases a goal of yours to reach? Or would you prefer to stay at an independent level.
I just love making movies, I’ll make a blockbuster if someone wants to give me a budget anywhere in the world. However, I do believe that limitations make us better filmmakers. With all the things you have to consider when making a bigger movie: the unions,...

In less than a decade, Jon Spaihts has become one of the most sought-after science fiction writers in cinema, but his career began in an unusual way after his screenplay for Passengers was included in the Black List of unproduced, buzz-worthy projects. It would take the film almost ten years to make it to the big screen, and while it flourished in development limbo – with names like Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon attached – Spaihts went on to write Alien prequel Prometheus, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and the reboot of The Mummy opening next year. In Passengers Spaihts combines the elements that have made his other screenplays so compelling: moral uncertainty and unabashed hope in humanity.
The film centers on two strangers who find themselves as unlikely bedfellows when they are awoken from their 120-year sleep, 90 years ahead of time. Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) must find a way...

It’s hard to say much about director’s Alexandre Aja’s latest movie The 9th Life of Louis Drax without spoiling some of its many twists.
Based on Liz Jensen’s novel and adapted by actor Max Minghella (who appeared in Aja’s previous movie Horns), the thriller stars Aiden Longworth as the title character, a young accident-prone boy who has survived numerous near-death experiences only to fall off a cliff while picnicking with his parents (Aaron Paul and Sarah Gadon). The fall puts Louis into a coma and as his father, the prime suspect, goes on the run, Louis’ mother starts to have feelings for his doctor (Jamie Dornan), who also wonders if there’s more to what happened than what he’s being told.
Although there are some classic horror elements within Louis Drax, it’s a very different beast from the more grotesque and violent films...

With nearly thirty years in the business, actress Margo Martindale has managed to turn a seemingly ordinary career as a character actor into an extraordinary career that’s garnered her two Emmys and two Critics Choice TV Awards.
In John Krasinski’s new comedy The Hollars, Martindale plays his mother Sally, who gets her son to return home from New York after she’s diagnosed with a brain tumor. It’s a lovely movie mainly for the significance of Martindale’s role in it and the great scenes she has with Krasinski (who also directed the film).

Ridley Scott was in rather bullish form during his recent interview with Yahoo, insisting that he doesn.t see an end in sight for his work, and that he wants to build upon arguably his finest masterpiece. Scott was asked if he'd like to do multiple Blade Runner sequels, similar to what he has planned for Prometheus, to which he then emphatically responded: Listen: Everyone else is, so why not? Ridley Scott on where Alien: Paradise Lost—will pick up:
"[Alien: Paradise Lost] is very spooky, because it continues after the last one, where Elizabeth Shaw [Noomi Rapace] says, “I wanna go where they came from.” And you’ve got Michael Fassbender in two parts, so she’ll slowly put him back together. They will go to the world of the Engineer.
That’s where they’re going to go. They will find out who would design such an awful bio-mechanoid creature, like a massive piece of bacteria.

Ridley Scott has teased the possibility of more Blade Runner sequels, once Blade Runner 2 is complete...
This story contains a spoiler for Blader Runner (the original).
Ridley Scott's promotional tour for his new film, The Martian, continues. The movie is released in UK cinemas today, and Scott has now been chatting to Yahoo! about Blade Runner 2, that's he's heavily involved with, but will be directed by Sicario's Denis Villeneuve.
He revealed that when he first was given the script to Blade Runner 2, "Harrison [Ford} said 'mehh', and I said 'no, read this'. And I think he said 'this is the best script I've ever had'. We've been working on it for a couple of years".
Noting that Deckard will have to admit that he's a replicant in the new film ("you'll have to see the story. It'll all make sense"), Scott added that the setting for the new movie will be in "2047, roughly". "As young as you can play Ryan Gosling. He's 34, but he looks 27 when he's doing his push-ups. So maybe 2050".

Another day, another interview with Sir Ridley Scott. Out and about talking up The Martian, Scott has been dropping word on his future films like an ovipositor implants alien eggs. But chatting with Yahoo, he’s focused more on long-gestating sequel Blade Runner 2, which like his plans for Prometheus, may extend further than first thought.Asked when the film will be set, Scott offers bluntly, “It was 2017, so coming back it’ll be 2047, roughly,” while adding praise for Ryan Gosling, who will co-star with Harrison Ford and carry the franchise going forward. “As young as you can play Ryan Gosling. He’s 34, but he looks 27 when he’s doing his push-ups. So maybe 2050.”And what of that idea that Gosling is in place so that more films can be made after this one? “Listen: Everyone else is, so why not? I love to work,” explains Scott. “The French say, ‘Work to live,...

"Everyone else is" is probably the worst reason or excuse to embark on any kind of creative endeavor, but believe it or not, director Ridley Scott is trotting out those exact words when asked if there's a possibility of more than one "Blade Runner" sequel. "Listen: Everyone else is, so why not? I love to work," Scott told Yahoo when they asked about the possibility of more "Blade Runner" movies. "The French say, 'Work to live,' and I live to work. I’m very lucky to have a job that I adore. All my kids do the same thing. Some of it’s trying, but it’s like being in professional sport. It’s so competitive [that] you better keep bouncing the ball. Since Ridley Scott started on the publicity tour for The Martian, we’ve learned a wealth of new information on the upcoming Prometheus sequel. Now brandishing the official title of Alien: Paradise Lost, the film is now closely connected to Scott’s original Alien series, and is expected to investigate the origins of those pesky xenomorphs before a further sequel will sync up to Alien with a bonus Ripley connection.
All in all, the past week has been an information dump of Alien proportions, and Scott continues to bait us with tiny tidbits of extra intel. In a new interview with Yahoo Movies, Scott discusses where the sequel is likely to take Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender’s survivors.
“Have you ever read Paradise Lost, by Milton? In a funny kind of way, it’s an interesting basis for the darkness of [Prometheus 2]. Where the good-looking guy, who is evil as s–t,...

Ridley Scott continues his "The Martian" press commitments and has spoken some more about the high profile sequels to both "Prometheus" and "Blade Runner" which are both slated to film next year.
Speaking with Yahoo, he first talked about the "Prometheus" sequel "Alien: Paradise Lost" and offered some plot details and comparisons to the classic Milton poem:
"Have you ever read Paradise Lost, by Milton? In a funny kind of way, it's an interesting basis for the darkness of [Prometheus 2]. Where the good-looking guy, who is evil as s–t, gets all the girls and goes to the nightclubs. The other guy, who is not quite as good-looking, is boring as hell and stays home.
So in a funny kind of way, we used that as the basis for it, it'll be Alien: Paradise Lost. Which is very spooky, because it continues after the last one, where Elizabeth Shaw [Noomi Rapace] says, 'I...

Danny Trejo is one of Hollywood's most prolific actors, having appeared in literally hundreds of projects since his career began in the early 1980s. The frequent Robert Rodriguez collaborator is often known for playing tough-as-nails badasses and grizzled villains, but that doesn't mean he shies away from the kid-friendly stuff.
One example is the Netflix's original animated series, "The Adventures of Puss in Boots," which follows the heroic moves of the swashbuckling feline we all know and love from "Shrek" and "Puss in Boots." Ok, Trejo still plays the villain in this one. But this time he's a cartoon named "El Moco" -- and if you're not familiar with the Spanish language, the translation for El Moco is mucus. Yup, his character is pretty much named "booger."

Hilary Duff is really changing up her look! The actress showed off her newly-dyed teal tresses (reminiscent of Kylie Jenner's blue ombre locks) via Instagram on Wednesday. Rocking white skinny jeans, a white T-shirt and white pumps, Duff's bright hair definitely stole the spotlight in the candid snap. "@Ambahhh turned me into a mermaid last night ... love all u girls @riawnacapri @nikkilee901 @ninezeroone xx," she captioned the pretty pic. The 27-year-old made headlines again earlier this week when she flaunted her fit figure on the photo sharing site. Posing in a black strapless bikini top and matching bottoms, the mother-of-one showed off her rock-hard tummy. "Hey #moms #westillgotit ❤️ #loveyourbod," she captioned the sexy snap. The former Disney star has been very vocal in the past about her weight struggles. "I just tell myself, 'I'm 5'2", I'm really fit, killing it in the gym, and doing crazy things,'" she...

Last night's "Better Call Saul" gave us more insight into the condition that Jimmy McGill's brother Chuck suffers from. But an interview today with actor Michael McKean only muddied the issue. So in last night's episode, we learned that while Chuck is convinced he is dealing with electromagnetic hypersensitivity, his symptoms are largely psychosomatic. When McKean and I spoke a few hours ago, though, the interview itself was plagued by electromagnetic interference in McKean's home, which eventually forced him to go to another room. Now, the only symptoms were a bad phone connection (which means a few of his early answers are incomplete), but still... if I were in the mindset of Fox Mulder — who once swapped bodies with McKean's Morris Fletcher in an "X-Files" two-parter that began his collaboration with Vince Gilligan — I might wonder if darker forces didn't want me writing about this condition existing only in Chuck's head.

"I love to work out, but I'm just not that concerned with being the skinniest person." "I'm not a model; I'm an actress. Mabel Normand in Fatty and Mabel Adrift (1916)
Mabel Normand is someone I knew more as a concept than as an actual screen personality. As Mack Sennett's one-again-off-again betrothed, and his favorite leading lady at Keystone, she helped discover Charlie Chaplin and threw the screen's first custard pie. And she was a wild girl who gave good copy. ("Say anything you like, but don't say I love to work. That sounds like Mary Pickford, that prissy bitch. Just say I like to pinch babies and twist their legs. And get drunk.")
I'd seen her in some early Chaplin films, typically rather disorganized affairs where she cries a lot and is almost crowded off the screen by rhubarbing clowns (Mabel's Busy Day, 1914). It was always a problem, making any impression amid the chaos of a Keystone movie, which is part of why Chaplin hated it. No room to breathe for the gags,...

Nashville, Tenn. (AP) — As Miley Cyrus' godmother, Dolly Parton has spent a lot of time answering reporters' questions about the Hannah Montana actress turned pop ingenue as she promotes her new album, "Blue Smoke," out this week. Though she says she worries about Cyrus as if she were her own child, she supports the sometimes shocking decisions her goddaughter has made as she moved from child star to a confident — and complicated — young woman. "I'll never say anything bad about Miley 'cause I know she's smart," Parton said. "And I know she's talented. And I know she's had to go to drastic measures to try to make her point: 'Leave me alone. I am not Hannah Montana anymore. I want to grow up.'" The 68-year-old Country Music Hall of Fame member compared Cyrus criticisms to those who chided her when she first came on the scene — a buxom...

While some may argue the audience will be only barely left alive after sitting through 2-1/2 hours of slow, dreamy, arty, self-indulgent vampire drama Only Lovers Left Alive, no one can accuse its star, Tilda Swinton, of being anything other than mesmerizing.
The actress has worked with writer/director Jim Jarmusch a number of times (my favorite of their collaborations is The Limits of Control), but this project seems to be extra special to her because it's been in the pipeline for so long… an eternity, I guess you could say!
In the film Swinton plays Eve, an ancient, art-appreciating vampire who's in love with a gifted but melancholy musician, Adam (Tom Hiddleston).
With Only Lovers Left Alive (review) arriving (finally!) in theaters on April 11th, she sat down with a group of us at a recent press day in Beverly Hills to talk "all about Eve."

Liam Neeson has made a name for himself in recent years as the go-to tough guy for action-packed blockbusters, including "Taken," "The Grey," and most recently "Non-Stop." But while Neeson's success in that genre marks a bit of a latter-day career revitalization for the formerly more-serious star, the actor has revealed that he once had a shot at one of the biggest action franchises of all time: "James Bond."
In an interview with the U.K.'s Hull Daily Mail, Neeson said that in the era when Pierce Brosnan ultimately landed the 007 role, Neeson himself was in demand for the part -- but according to the actor, he had one very important reason for turning it down.

Murder seems just about right when "Castle" dives into the world of high fashion in "Dressed to Kill." And the show has the perfect dragon-lady magazine editor in guest star Frances Fisher. As Matilda King, Fisher is cool, calm and deadly.

Writer/director Quentin Dupieux, the man behind Rubber, has given us his most absurdist film yet with Wrong Cops. It is not so much a movie as it is a collection of sketches about crooked cops who are involved in a number of illegal activities. There is a main through line, however, and it involves an innocent bystander who gets accidentally shot by one of the cops. When they try to figure out the best way to get rid of the body, they find that the wounded man proves to be rather useful, even while he’s bleeding to death.
Despite having a low budget and very little time to make Wrong Cops, Dupieux was still able to bring together a strong cast that includes Marilyn Manson (himself a big fan of Rubber), Grace Zabriskie, Ray Wise and Jennifer Blanc. It also reunites him with Mark Burnham (who plays the...

Rosanna Arquette and banker beau Todd Morgan married after a two-year engagement.
Us Weekly confirmed that the couple were married in a "private family ceremony in Malibu on Sunday." A source also said that Barbra Streisand and James Brolin were two of the celebrity guests in attendance.
Arquette's rocky love life and three divorces have landed in many tabloids during her career. But in 2012 the actress told The Huffington Post that she thought relationships were about "accepting the other person. I love to work and I love my partnership, but I really do need both." It seems she's found that with Morgan.
Arquette's recent work has included roles on "Girls" and "Ray Donovan," and she's gearing up to direct her first feature film with three TV shows in development.
