A quick review of tonight's Supergirl coming up just as soon as I give you a case of Dr. Pepper and access to your Netflix account... "For the Girl Who Has Everything" had a high bar to clear for the comics fans in the Supergirl audience, since it was adapting arguably the greatest Superman story ever written, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' "For the Man Who Has Everything," where it's Kal-El, not Kara, who falls victim to the Black Mercy and gets trapped in dreams of a life on Krypton(*). But while the episode had its moments, it suffered from the Berlanti-verse tendency to try to do too many things all at once, and as a result rushed through so much of what made the original story so powerful. (*) It also features Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman (who shares a surprisingly passionate birthday kiss with the Man of Steel), and the villain Mongul,...

Chicago – Singer/composer Brian Wilson, best known as the mastermind behind The Beach Boys, enters a room. His biographic circumstance and music history immediately fills that room. His life story is now brilliantly set to film, as he is portrayed by Paul Dano and John Cusack through different life stages in “Love & Mercy.”
Written by Oren Moverman and Michael Alan Lerner, and directed by Bill Pohlad, “Love & Mercy” – derived from a Brian Wilson song title – is the story of two crucial phases in the songwriter’s life. The younger phase, portrayed by Paul Dano, checks in with Wilson as he puts together The Beach Boys’ masterpiece, “Pet Sounds.” At this point, the dissolution of Brian Wilson as Rock Star is beginning, and as a result the older phase of his life comes into view, with John Cusack turning in a career-defining performance as Wilson, under the care of psychologist Eugene...

Paul Dano and John Cusack take on the larger-than-life story of Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson in Love & Mercy, the biopic of sorts that Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions will release June 5. Bill Pohlad directed from a script by Oren Moverman and Michael Alan Lerner. The film tracks Wilson’s career path as he fueled he and his brothers’ rise to the top of the rock ‘n roll world — remember, the Beatles said their 1967 opus Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was…...

He’s been a Hollywood star since his teens, when he starred in Class, Sixteen Candles and The Sure Thing, but thankfully John Cusack was never like the characters in David Cronenberg’s Maps To The Stars. A brutal satire about the players, wannabes and has-beens of Hollywood, Cusack plays Stafford Weiss, a self-help guru who peddles his therapies to the weak-minded. Father to the foul Benjie (Evan Bird), a rehab-hopping teen star of the ‘Bad Babysitter’ franchise, Stafford is just one of the soulless ghouls that haunts the Hollywood Hills in what is the Canadian Cronenberg’s first real foray into Tinseltown terrain.
For Cusack, it represents yet another impressive notch in a career that’s seen him work with Stephen Frears (The Grifters, High Fidelity), Woody Allen (Shadows and Fog, Bullets Over Broadway), Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich), Terence Malick (The Thin Red Line) and Clint Eastwood (Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil...

We already know that there's an upcoming merger between Seattle Grace and Mercy West on Grey's Anatomy. Entertainment Weekly reports Everwood alum Sarah Drew is set to appear as one of the doctors of Mercy West that are heading to Seattle Grace. We all know her as the shy/uptight Hannah from the WB drama. She's now 29, but from her Everwood character, we figured she'd fit in quite nicely in the crazy world of doctors on Grey's Anatomy.
To the 90s kids, Drew also lent her voice to the character of Stacy on MTV's Daria. She's the eager and insecure secretary of the fashion club. And currently, she plays Suzy Pepper, a senior with a crush on her teacher on the Fox musical-comedy Glee. Her other roles include Salvatore's wife Kitty on Mad Men.
