Carrie Bradshaw had two great loves and a couple of other long-term romances in Sex and the City. She also had a host of other dating failures. In the pile of discarded love interests, there were a few gems. We collected Carrie Bradshaw’s three most underrated love interests. We think she could have really made it work with these men.
Carrie briefly dated Ben, and frankly, he seemed perfect
Carrie Bradshaw had issues with trusting men. That’s what a decade of dating in New York City taught her. Being skeptical is one thing; being paranoid is another. Her lack of trust led her astray in season 2 with a political magazine editor named Ben. In the episode “The Freak Show,” Carrie met Ben while sitting in the park, and the two hit it off pretty well.

Before you make your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best Comedy Supporting Actress, take a look through our photo gallery featuring the ladies most likely to land in the lineup. Since last year’s winner – Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”) – is now campaigning as a lead, this race is wide open to an array of possible newcomers, past contenders, and even a few former winners.
At this point, the clear frontrunner is potential category first-timer Meryl Streep (“Only Murders in the Building”), who previously achieved two Best TV Movie/Limited Series Actress wins for “Holocaust” (1978) and “Angels in America” (2004). Hoping to challenge her are three of Edebiri’s “The Bear” cast mates: Liza Colon-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Molly Gordon.
Of Edebiri’s six 2023 competitors, only two – “Abbott Elementary” pair Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph – are involved in the current race. Ralph took this prize for the same series in 2022, defeating Hannah Einbinder...

Candace Bushnell is not creatively attached to And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City reboot. She still has plenty of opinions on Carrie Bradshaw’s love life, though. In a recent interview, Bushnell confidently asserted that Carrie Bradshaw probably could have been pretty happy with how her life would have turned out if she had married Aidan Shaw. The statement starkly contrasts Bushnell’s thoughts on the subject just a year ago.
Candace Bushnell thinks Carrie and Aidan could have been happy together
Candace Bushnell has seemingly changed her stance on Carrie Bradshaw’s love life. As the author of Sex and the City and the inspiration for Carrie Bradshaw, no one would know better who the quirky sex columnist belonged with, yet she remains unsure. In 2023, the famed author took to X to reveal that she didn’t think either one of Carrie’s “big loves” was the right fit for her.

Sex and the City stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis have grown close over the years thanks to the show. So when Davis had to work with Parker’s husband Matthew Broderick in a movie, things became uncomfortable when the two had to get too close.
Kristin Davis once looked back at her awkward bed scene with Matthew Broderick Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Kristin Davis | Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage
Broderick and Davis had already known each other for years behind the scenes. But they collaborated for the first time in the 2006 Christmas film Deck the Halls. The feature was a comedy about two neighbors fighting over Holiday decorations, with Davis playing Broderick’s wife.
Working with Davis wasn’t a big deal for the Ferris Bueller star, especially since the movie wasn’t heavy in romance. Parker also helped put in a good word for her Sex and the City co-star.

Things don’t go as planned however as one of them, his girlfriend Amelia no less, is an undercover FBI agent. He barely escapes, and since he was already planning to retire, takes it one step further, he fakes his death and drops out of sight.
Three months later, his brother Shawn drops by trying to interest him in coming out of retirement for one more job. That doesn’t work, but when another member of the crew, Link calls he’s packing and on his way to the airport.
The next thing we know, Mason and Shawn are kidnapping a bank manager and the plan is in motion.

Sarah Jessica Parker became bigger than even some movie stars after years on the iconic series Sex and the City. But after the HBO franchise ended, Parker assumed her stint doing TV would end as well.
Why Sarah Jessica Parker thought she’d left TV for good Sarah Jessica Parker | Cindy Ord/Getty Images
Parker might’ve had her fill of doing television shows after Sex and the City. The show lasted six years from 1998 to 2004. It could’ve lasted even longer if Parker hadn’t decided to end the show on a high. When asked what she planned on doing after Sex and the City in an interview with Oprah, she didn’t see herself jumping on another show.
“So much of my life lately has been Sex and the City, and now I want more. I want to be a better parent, a better actress—to keep myself challenged and terrified.

HBO pioneered many of the genres and formats that have become standards in the modern TV industry. Its shows have become synonymous with entire eras: the pop culture of the early 2000s is impossible to imagine without Sex and the City, the 2010s without Game of Thrones, the 2020s without Euphoria.
The success of The Sopranos and Sex and the City, which ensured HBO's special status in the media culture of the 2000s, somewhat overshadowed the third truly revolutionary series of the decade, which largely determined the style of the network's future projects: The Wire.

Rumors that Andy Cohen is set to leave Bravo amid serious misconduct allegations are untrue. While Cohen’s job at Bravo appears safe for now, the accusations against him are stacking up. We’ve collected the most recent allegations against the Bravo executive.
What are the allegations against Andy Cohen?
While Bravo insists Andy Cohen is not getting ready to exit the network, fans are still torn over the allegations against him. Things kicked off in February 2024 when Brandi Glanville came forward to accuse Andy Cohen of sexual harassment. According to Variety, Glanville’s lawyers have requested an apology from Cohen. In a letter obtained by the publication, Glanville said Cohen sexually harassed her during a phone call in which he told her he intended to have sex with an unnamed Bravo employee but that he would be thinking of her. Cohen has insisted it was a “joke” and that Glanville was “in” on it.

Miranda Hobbes was the first of her pals to leave Manhattan and buy a house. In season 6 of Sex and the City, she gave up her classic Manhattan apartment and moved to Brooklyn to give her marriage and son room to grow. Decades later, Miranda was still living in the same Brooklyn home when she decided to leave married life behind. While Steve Brady and Miranda Hobbes have only briefly discussed the Brooklyn home they share in And Just Like That…, we can’t help but wonder just how much it is worth today.
Where is Miranda and Steve’s Brooklyn brownstone located?
Steve Brady and Miranda Hobbes purchased their Brooklyn abode in 2006, just as Brady Hobbes was getting mobile. While the duo never stated where the home was located, outside of Miranda uttering the word “Brooklyn” with disdain, fans have always assumed they lived in one of the borough’s trendier neighborhoods.

Sex and the City has found new life among an entirely new demographic of viewers. After the iconic series appeared on Netflix on April 1, subscribers took to binging the series. While there has been plenty of discussion about Carrie Bradshaw and her pals’ sex lives, it’s important to remember the entire series was based on a very real sex column that ran in a New York City newspaper back in the 1990s. The Sex and the City franchise may have experienced a recent resurgence thanks to its Max spin-off. But there was a time when Chris Noth felt there was no coming back for the show.

“Everybody always asks me and I’m always the last to know. Really! I’ll believe the film when they call Action and until they do that its all just useless chit chat,” Noth once told Vogue.

Real Sex and the City fans know that over the course of six seasons, Carrie Bradshaw had impressively abysmal taste in men (Berger, Politician Pee Guy, the stoner dude who lived with his parents….the list goes on). But even a broken clock is right twice a day, and amidst all those duds, a few gems have stood out. Most notably, there’s Ben, Carrie’s bespectacled, shaggy-haired politics writer in the Season Two episode “Freak Show,” with whom she famously blows it after he catches her rummaging through his...

Cynthia Nixon is detailing a scrapped Sex and the City scene that was shot similarly to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 horror film Psycho.
The actress, who reprised her role as Miranda for And Just Like That, a revival of the hit series, shared on the latest episode of the Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson podcast why the episode ultimately had to be reshot.
“[It’s] in that episode where Miranda’s not having sex but she’s eating a lot of chocolate cake and she tries to buy a whole cake and it’s like $80 and she’s like, ‘This is ridiculous. I’m not going to spend $80,’” Nixon said of the scene. “So she goes and buys like a Duncan Hines mix and makes herself a cake. And then she can’t stop eating it. She eats piece after piece after piece. And then finally she has to throw...

Cynthia Nixon is letting a “Sex and the City” production detail slip more than two decades later.
The actress, who reprised her role of Miranda for revival series “And Just Like That…,” said on Sony Music Entertainment’s Dinner’s On Me Podcast, hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, that one scene had surprising ties to Alfred Hitchcock.

After a slow start of 2.3 million views in its opening weekend on Netflix, viewership of Andrew Scott’s “Ripley” barely increased in its first full week of availability. The limited series reached 2.5 million views between April 8 and April 14, making it the streamer’s No. 6 English-language TV title of the week — low for a project of its caliber, given the talent and IP attached.
Meanwhile, “Sex and the City” fell of the chart after debuting at No. 6 when it was added to Netflix the week before via a licensing deal. Though it may or may not be far behind this week’s No. 10 series, it seems that the HBO classic didn’t reach Gen Z in the way Netflix had hoped — or maybe they’re just tuning in on Max, where the series was already available.

New data from Ampere Analysis shows how much HBO titles like ‘Band of Brothers’ and ‘Insecure’ have risen in popularity since becoming available on Netflix.
It’s been nearly a year since reports first surfaced that Warner Bros. Discovery was in talks with Netflix to send some HBO original titles to stream on that platform, while at the same time remaining on Wbd’s platform Max. At the time the move was considered somewhat controversial, as the prevailing wisdom at the time held that media companies should keep their prized content in order to draw viewers to their own services. But months after the licensing deal between HBO and Netflix became official, new data from Ampere Analysis shows that many HBO shows doubled in popularity after being sent to stream on Netflix.
“Ballers” saw the biggest jump in relative popularity, quadrupling its score in the month after its Netflix premiere.

Two of America’s founding fathers are fed up. Aside from their shared belief in a bold new experiment called the United States, Benjamin Franklin (Michael Douglas) and John Adams (Eddie Marsan) don’t often see eye to eye, and their conflicting visions have only strayed further during negotiations with France. Adams doesn’t see the point in spending so much time catering to one European king while they’re trying to assert their independence from another. Franklin knows the path to freedom comes with tolls that only the French can pay. But more to the point, he knows the French. He knows their customs, their language, and their comportment. Adams’ attempts to speak French are almost as disastrous as his impatience with their languid dealmaking, and after an unnecessary setback, his co-emissary tries to warn him.

Another day, another slay. That, I think, is Zendaya and her talented stylist Law Roach’s mantra throughout the Challengers promotional run. After nailing the method dressing game at the Rome premiere and photocall for Challengers with her tennis whites and tennis ball heels, Zendaya and her talented glam squad jetted to London to ace yet another stylish press tour.
And just as I had predicted, they killed it in the style and glam department! As a nod to her upcoming sports drama movie, Zendaya donned two tennis-inspired outfits—one with literal tennis elements and the other a sporty mini skirt with a playful twist. But in addition to her ensembles, her hairstyles are also worth checking out.

Heartbreak High‘s first season ended with Harper and Amerie reconciling after sorting out their year-long differences. The reasons behind the misunderstandings were forgiven, and as they moved towards another year at Hartley High, plenty of old memories resurfaced that were painful and triggering at the same time. The second season of the show is all about the new route their friendship takes and if new romantic relationships are in cards for Amerie and Harper. Season two of this popular Australian Netflix original, Heartbreak High, was released on 11th April 2024, on the streaming platform.
Just like the first season, Heartbreak High has eight episodes this time around too, with forty- to fifty-minute-long episodes that are about the school kids and the details of their intimate lives. Season two again mirrors Sex Education and Sex and the City, shows in which the leads discuss the details of their romantic lives inside...

A revival of ’90s hit “Melrose Place” is in the works at CBS Studios, with original stars Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton set to return, TheWrap has learned.
The Darren Star-created night-time soap followed the complicated lives of several 20-somethings who lived in a Los Angeles apartment complex called Melrose Place, where the drama included a bombing, a drowning and a “Dynasty”-esque pool fight.
Locklear played advertising exec Amanda Woodward, whose addition to the show late in the first season helped boost ratings at the time. Zuniga played Jo Reynolds on the series from 1992 to 1999 while Leighton played Sydney Andrews, sister of Josie Bassett’s character Jane.
Lauren Gussis of “Dexter” and “Insatiable” fame is set to write and executive produce the revival, which would see the “Og residents” returning when one of their friends die. Per the logline, the reunion “uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances,...

3 Body Problem spent another week atop Netflix’s TV charts.
The drama series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss with Alexander Woo, drove another 8.3M views from April 1 to 7. That’s quite a bit down from last week’s more than 15M views but still enough to land it at No. 1. According to Netflix, it was in the Top 10 in 92 countries.
At this point, it is quite unlikely that the series would break into the most popular list, as viewership appears to be depreciating fairly quickly. However, there are still several weeks in the show’s premiere window for it to continue racking up views, if it can maintain a steady audience.
The Gentlemen remained in third place this week with 5.6M views, while Ripley debuted at No. 8 with 2.3M views. HBO has another Netflix hit on its hands, as Sex and the City...

Today’s Hollywood stars are more “sophisticated” and “aware of the business” than in the days Kyle MacLachlan was starting out, the Sex and the City star said today as he gave his thoughts on another Twin Peaks reboot.
As a budding actor, MacLachlan played the role of Paul Atreides in David Lynch’s 1980s version of Dune and he spotlighted how different the approach is for today’s young stars such as Timothée Chalamet, who plays Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s version, and Chalamet’s co-star Zendaya.
“When I started I was plucked from relative obscurity from Seattle, where they had found me for Dune,” MacLachlan told a packed house at Cannes’ Espace Miramar this afternoon. “I thought I was going to work as a repertory theater actor and then suddenly I was in LA and I was like, ‘What am I doing? Kristin Davis is known for TV series and movies like “Just Like That” and “Sex and the City“, and you won’t she has turned 59, recently she shared a make-up-free selfie and she looked as beautiful as ever!
You all must agree with me when I say that in today’s world, we all use filters to click pictures and shoot videos for ourselves very few of us have the guts to take pictures and videos without using filters because we know that we look beautiful in artificial filters.
But recently a very popular actress shared her no-filter natural camera look and she was quite praised by all her fans on social media.
Yes, you are guessing it right here we are talking about Kristin Davis who shared a very beautiful picture of her on her Instagram account which was quite praised by her fans because in that selfie she is all-natural.

Sex and the City has been a trailblazing staple of the small screen since it first debuted in 2008 on HBO, but that doesn’t mean all of it holds up upon modern review. There is some serious debate right now as to whether Gen Z viewers who might discover the show anew — now that it’s streaming in full on Netflix — will enjoy what the show has to offer the way millennials and Gen X-ers did when it was still on air. The show follows four single women — Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) — living in Manhattan, partying, and having lots of sex. For those who grew up on HBO’s oft-compared female-centered follow-up Girls, this might not seem so revolutionary, but at the time, it was. That being said, though the show was progressive in many areas at the time,...

Sex and the City was a smash hit for HBO. Premiering in 1998, the series ran for six seasons, spawned two movies (although we'd prefer to forget that the second one ever came out), and a prequel series (The Carrie Diaries on The CW).
And while there was great excitement over And Just Like That..., the reboot was somewhat marred from the outset with the harassment allegations against Chris Noth, the lack of Samantha (Kim Cattrall), and the introduction of the polarizing Che Diaz.
The series has expanded its circle of friends from the original, bringing in Seema, Nya, and Lisa as foils and sidekicks for Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte, respectively.
Long-time fans enjoyed seeing Anthony find a new partner and learning more about Stanford's life in Japan. Season 2 of And Just Like That... also saw much growth from our leading ladies.
Carrie found and then lost Aidan, at least for the time being.

This article contains spoilers for Sex and the City.
Skipper Johnston (Ben Weber) is a website developer introduced in Sex and the City as Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) friend, and a hopeless romantic. Sure, he falls into the “nice guy” trope, bemoaning how hard it is for guys like him to be taken seriously in the New York dating world, but compared to every other guy introduced in the series’ pilot, he seems genuine, and deserved a better friend than Carrie.
Carrie didn’t have to set him up with Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). In fact, it probably would have been better for everyone if she didn’t. As soon as she offers to introduce them in the first episode of the series, she says in her signature voiceover “Miranda was gonna hate Skipper. She’d think he was mocking her with his sweet nature and decide he was an asshole.

The “Netflix and chill” generation has just been confronted with, well, “Sex.”
“Sex and the City,” which wrapped up its six-season run on HBO in 2004, has arrived on the streaming platform, and is currently ranked at No. 7 in the Netflix Top 10.
Netflix’s firehose of viewers represents something different for Carrie Bradshaw and the gang. Though “Sex and the City,” one of the class of early shows that led the pay-cable revolution, is utterly entwined with HBO’s brand, it’s also broken out before, in cut-for-basic-cable reruns on E! and two theatrically released feature films. But the sheer magnitude of potential viewership on Netflix, and “Sex and the City’s” coexistence there with such an undifferentiated mass of content, strips away the context in which the four fashionable Manhattanites have to this point existed.
Which presents both an exciting twist in the miraculously long life of this work of popular art,...

Before Steve Brady (David Eigenberg) and Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) came along on Sex and the City, there was Skipper Johnston (Ben Weber). He was one of Miranda’s (Cynthia Nixon) love interests in the first season of Sex and the City and a self-proclaimed “hopeless romantic.” Skipper and Miranda’s romantic relationship was very brief. Miranda was certain from the beginning that Skipper was not her type, but he was persistent. Now that the hit HBO series is available to binge on Netflix, you might be thinking about Skipper again. He only appeared in the first two seasons, but he remains a divisive character amongst Sex and the City fans. Scroll down to get a refresher on all things Skipper Johnston and what Weber’s up to today. What happened to Skipper? Skipper made his first appearance in the pilot episode of Sex and the City. The website creator...

Ah, April. Spring isn’t just in the air, it’s on our television sets. Baseballs are zipping through the air. Flowers are blooming in the park. Desperate TV networks are capitalizing off national holidays with religious programming. It’s all happening, and Netflix is playing along. Not only did the streaming giant get an early jump on the Emmy race by launching the confusing awful ambitious “3 Body Problem” in March (giving voters enough time to wade through its arduous episodes), but April has its own awards contender in “Ripley.”
I would be surprised if any other April original series draw the TV Academy’s attention, but we should never write off a series executive produced by Norman Lear (“Good Times” gets the animated reboot treatment this month), nor can a nature documentary series from Netflix be considered out of the running. Greg Berlanti isn’t known for producing...

This post was originally published in July 2023. We’ve updated it to coincide with “Sex and the City” coming to Netflix April 1.
Seasons change, and so do cities. One thing that doesn’t? Fans’ enduring love for “Sex and the City,” the HBO comedy that premiered in 1998.
Endlessly spoofed but also deeply, earnestly loved by millions, the groundbreaking series wrapped its original six-season, 94-episode run in 2004, with a not-terrible, not-great 2008 feature film and a truly terrible sequel following in 2010. In 2021, spinoff series “And Just Like That” — without Kim Cattrall’s iconic Samantha Jones — premiered on Max (née HBO Max). A second season of “And Just Like That” began airing in June 2023, following the misadventures of a 50-something Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda. The spinoff show has received mixed reviews from fans and critics — the less said about Che Diaz, the better — but plenty still can’t stay away from their favorite girls,...
