Even dressed up as a werewolf, Heidi Klum still finds a way to look stunning. The German bombshell showed up for her 18th annual Halloween party — don’t forget to use #HeidiHalloween — on Tuesday, decked out in full Michael Jackson “Thriller” attire. Letterman’s jacket? Check. Fangs? Check. Hair reminiscent of the great Michael J. Fox in “Teen Wolf”? Check. If this is Thriller night, and no one’s gonna save me from the beast about to strike… well that sounds fine with me. Spoiler Alert: The following contains spoilers for tonight’s series finale of Teen Wolf. After six seasons, MTV’s Teen Wolf came to an end tonight with a highly-anticipated finale. Even though the final adventures of the pack ended with a bang, the show left a tiny opening that suggested a continuation of a new story might be on the horizon. The series may share the same title as the ’80s starring Michael J. Fox, but it is anything but a genre teen comedy. The series is…...

Not all teenage werewolf movies are created equal.
As a kid, I couldn’t have been more primed to see 1985’s Teen Wolf, a movie that seemed positively made just for me. I was obsessed with star Michael J. Fox, first from his TV work as Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties and then as Marty McFly in Back to the Future, to this day my favorite movie of all time. Werewolves have always been my movie monster of choice, even as a boy of just eight years old. Combining Michael J. Fox with werewolves—in a high school comedy, no less, then (and possibly still) one of my favorite film genres—seemed a foolproof recipe for a classic. And, in its way, Teen Wolf is a classic: a movie that’s probably as good as it can be while still being far from great. It’s sweet, it means well,...

As I watched Teen Wolf for the 30th time last night I couldn’t help yet again realize how amazing coach Finstock was. I don’t know what’s up with Jay Tarses these days, but man do we need more characters like him in the cinematic universe. Unfortunately the last time we saw Tarses on television was in 1993. Personally I think that’s just way too long. Coach Finstock will go down as easily one of my top five sports coaches in movie history. The man ate hard boiled eggs during games. You really can’t beat that. Anyway, here’s the advice he

Dystopia! What a place to be. Well, except when people are mulched to feed an over populated society (Soylent Green) or killed at the age of 30 to control it (Logan’s Run); and in the case of Turkey Shoot (1982), hunted for sport by society’s elite. Come to think of it, Dystopia is kind of a bummer.
Released in its native Australia in October, Turkey Shoot wouldn’t see the light of day in the U.S. until September of ’83 under the title Escape 2000. Both titles work; the former playing into the more lurid elements, while the latter highlights the cut rate sci-fi angle. And it’s the swirling combination of the two that gives this sucker its punch. Turkey Shoot is A class exploitation with a down under smile.

It’s not just a cliche: Everything old is indeed new again on TV, particularly this upcoming season.
Fox is leading the drive, with three upcoming shows based on existing titles: “The Exorcist,” a new take on an old horror franchise; “Lethal Weapon,” a remake of the 1980s buddy comedy, and “Prison Break,” which is a continuation of that original series (expected in early 2017). CBS is also on the bandwagon, with new takes on “MacGyver” and “Training Day.”
The networks went through a similar exercise last year, and the results were mixed. At Fox, “Minority Report” was a dud, but the return of “The X-Files” was a massive ratings hit. CBS’ “Rush Hour” was a miss, but a new version of “The Odd Couple” is picking up steam.
Just as sequel and franchise mania envelops the film biz, it’s easy to knock TV for its constant desire to ride the wayback machine.

I’ll confess. I have a real mushy soft spot for Heavy Metal music. Back in the ‘80s, in my teen years, my buddy Nick and I would crank the latest from Kiss, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Cinderella, etc. And there’s something specifically about Metal tailored to teenagers – that heightened sense of drama we feel at that age, the hormonal urges, and the need to push back against ‘society’. (Right – but please give us our allowances to consume products, okay?)
But Metal also equated with power, which was aligned with evil, and before long, many parents came up with the notion that Metal was Satan’s music. (Is the Pmrc still a thing? Brr.) Well, marketing is marketing, and few Metal bands fought the label (hell, some even embraced it). So it seemed the timing was right for that satanic safe haven, the Horror Film, to meet up with the...

Fans of The Inbetweeners can catch Will (Simon Bird), this time as Adam, one of two sons in the Goodman family in Friday Night Dinner on Channel 4. The first episode is entitled The Sofabed, with Tamsin Geig, as Mum, playing a decidedly different role to her recent work in Episodes (which we reviewed here), and the rest of the cast round out what could be a nice plate of laughs on Friday nights. Full Moon High (Original Release Date: 27 February 1981?)
I had some difficulty figuring out exactly when this one came out. The date above was one of the ones I found. Wikipedia says 7 October, and some other places give other dates. After a little digging, it looks like 27 February may have been the day the film was printed. A New York Times article from 30 August mentions it will be coming out soon, so the 7 October release date looks more and more like the right one. I decided to go ahead and review it early, since I was eager to see it, and since the other movie I wanted to review this Thursday didn’t get to me on time.
1981 was a banner year for wolf movies. Of the four wolf-themed major releases -- An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, and Wolfen being the other three -- Full Moon High is probably the least well-known.

Holland Roden began acting as a hobby and has now parlayed her talent into a full-time career. She has guest starred on several hit television shows including Weeds (TV) Cold Case (TV), Lost (TV), and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (TV) as well as appearing in the film Bring it On: Fight to the Finish (2009). Holland's newest endeavor involves a starring role in MTV's highly anticipated new series Teen Wolf (TV), which is loosely based on the 1985 film starring Michael J. Fox. The show, which is scheduled to debut early this summer, contains a darker element than the original film and combines a hearty dose of suspense, romance, and modern teen drama. The buzz surrounding the show has been mounting since last fall and the cast, which also includes Tyler Posey as main character Scott McCall, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, and Crystal Reed are ready and eager for the show's debut this June.

Take Me Home Tonight, Topher Grace’s ode to the ’80s, doesn’t hit theaters until March 4, but the actor is already hard at work promoting it. He co-conceived the story about a directionless MIT graduate who works at Suncoast Video in the mall and gets a second chance with his unrequited his school crush (Teresa Palmer) when she invites him to an end-of-summer party. The cast, which originally shot the film in 2007 (it’s how Anna Faris met her husband, Chris Pratt), has reunited recently to star in a viral music video, Atomic Tom’s cover of The Human League...

If theres anyhting more than I enjoy than a good film, is a film that manages to bring together the majority of 80's pop-culture -- while maintaining its composure. Take Me Home Tonight is not strictly-speaking not a spoof movie, instead it is a period comedy set in 1988 about a group of friends celebrating the last night of their youth. And as you can imagine when you get a cast comprising of Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Teresa Palmer, and Dan Fogler a lot can go right. But judging by what you'll see below, you will join me in wishing it was.
CinemaBlend have managed to get their beady little hands on a ridiculously awesome music video for the film, which comprises of the cast hanging out in a bar -- doing what any fun-loving soul would do when confronted with the opportunity to have a blast. Go 80's. And thats just what they did,...

Hey! Remember the '80s? Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler and Teresa Palmer do. They're the cast of the upcoming comedy Take Me Home Tonight, which opens March 4 and is set in 1988 [1]. As part of the viral marketing campaign for the film, they've created a music video that features the whole cast, a ton of cameos and references/reenactments of upwards of 50 classic Eighties movies, all in the course of four minutes. While some of the references are super obvious - Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, etc. - it's actually pretty fun to watch and pick out a few of the less obvious ones. Check out the video after the jump. Thanks to Cinema Blend [2] for the heads up on the video. Everyone looks a little too good in this party film set in 1988 called, "Take Me Home Tonight" -- like the wardrobe was designed not around what people were wearing in 80's, but what people were wearing in films in the 80's. I've only seen the trailer though, so maybe there are some hideous paisley shirts and pleated jeans somewhere in this new creation by "That '70s Show" star, Topher Grace.
If you've been missing him ("Predators" doesn't count) here's your chance to get a little dose of Eric Forman. It seems as if we've found the same character, just at the end of the following decade, with the same dry humor.
The drugs have changed a bit, and rumor is that epic amounts of blow get inhaled. The music has all changed too, and some radical tracks from the decade get prime placement in this last "night of unbridled youth" blow out.

It has taken awhile for Take Me Home Tonight, shot in early 2007, to see a theatrical release, but it is finally happening next month. The often hilarious comedy revels in its 1980′s nostalgic tone. This is not a parody film, rather one that embraces every aspect of those films you love. What better way to celebrate than actually re-enact all those films?

“I’ve fancied her since I was 10!” These were words of Simon Pegg referring to his co star Sigourney Weaver, who has had more than her fair share of alien encounters, when we talked to him last night at the Leicester square premiere of Paul.
Held at the Empire Cinema, the purple carpeted event greeted Simon, Nick Frost, Paul director Greg Mottola, Jason Bateman, Sigourney Weaver and other stars from the flick who ushered in the World premiere event.
Paul is the story about two British ‘geeky-as-they come’ comic convention nerds (Gawd bless ‘em!) who come across an alien named Paul whilst they are on a tour of the Us mid-west. Held at the Empire Cinema, the purple carpeted event greeted Simon, Nick Frost, Paul director Greg Mottola, Jason Bateman, Sigourney Weaver and other stars from the flick who ushered in the World premiere event.

Heh, you know what would be cool? If Beavis and Butt-Head, after more than 13 years off the air, made a comeback.
MTV confirmed months of rumors along those lines at its Tuesday upfront presentation, announcing that the animated, music-video mocking potty mouths will return in a rebooted series premiering… well, the network didn’t get into specifics. Yet. I just wanna know who’s gonna break it to the boys that no one, and certainly barely MTV, airs music videos anymore.

Uh huh-huh huh ... 'Beavis and Butt-head' are making a comeback! MTV announced that the iconic '90s animated series will be returning to MTV with all-new episodes
The cult hit, created by Mike Judge ('Office Space,' 'King of the Hill'), ran for 200 episodes from 1993-97, and produced a spin-off ('Daria') and a movie ('Beavis and Butthead Do America').
Rumors about the show's return began circulating after the characters made a cameo in 'Jackass 3D.' MTV hasn't set a premiere date yet, though it did say it would happen this summer. The network also announced that the new show 'Teen Wolf' would debut on June 5.
When the series returns, the two metal-loving slackers will still issue snarky commentary, but instead of watching terrible grunge music videos, Beavis and Butt-head will take on more contemporary acts.

Two bored and idiot high school students are ready to entertain MTV enthusiasts once again. The music network is reviving Mike Judge's "Beavis and Butt-Head" which started airing in 1993 and stopped in 1997, confirming a rumor that has been going on for months now.
MTV held an upfront presentation on Wednesday, February 2 in New York with the cast of "Skins" delivering the good news. The animated series is slated to return this summer, with modern wrapping which includes the two best friends watching "Jersey Shore" and other pop cultures.
The cast of "Skins" might have not even born yet when it first debuted, but the show would be aimed for this particular age group. One solid fan who can't wait the return would be Justin Bieber. The 16-year-old tweeted, "Solid day in NYC. Played hoops and just went to the MTV Upfronts...Beavis and Butthead are coming back!!!"

We’ve not heard anything about the TV remake of classic Michael J. Fox movie, Teen Wolf for quite a while now but MTV (via our friend Toby Wilkins who directed some of the episodes) have just announced the series will air on June 5th in the Us straight after the MTV Movie Awards.
Adam posted the trailer for the series a while ago which you can see here. The TV series stars Linden Ashby, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed, Tyler Posey, Colton Haynes, Holland Roden, Robert Pralgo, Jr Bourne and Sharon Morris.
Synopsis: “Teen Wolf,” stars Tyler Posey (“Maid in Manhattan,” “Brothers and Sisters”), as the newly bitten werewolf, ‘Scott McCall,’ Dylan O’Brien as his best friend ‘Stiles,’ Crystal Reed as the mysterious new girl in town, ‘Allison,’ and Tyler Hoechlin (“Road to Perdition,” “7th Heaven”) as the older and possibly quite dangerous werewolf, ‘Derek Hale.’ Always an outsider and often unnoticed,...

Attending the MTV upfront presentation in New York, Tim Stack reports that the network just announced that Beavis & Butt-Head will indeed make its triumphant return to the network. The announcement confirms previous online reports, some from creator Mike Judge himself, that MTV was working on a return of the hit series.
When will Beavis air? Executives did not say. But they did give a premiere date for the network’s TV series version of Teen Wolf. The drama will debut June 5, after the MTV Movie Awards.

Former MTV president of programming Tony Disanto and head of series development Liz Gateley, who left the cable channel on Dec. 31 to launch Diga, an independent production company in partnership with Ben Silverman's Electus, today officially announced the launch of the company and unveiled its first development slate. The announcement was made during Silverman's keynote speech at Natpe. Diga, a multi-media company, which will be based in New York City with a production/edit center in Los Angeles, is working on a comedy format from Nick Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment starring female personality Amanda Diva; a fashion series with an interactive element from Jill Martin, television personality and author of Fashion for Dummies and the upcoming I Have Nothing to Wear; and three series with Jackhole Industries, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison’s production company. Following the twisted delights of Triangle British horror maestro Christopher Smith (Creep, Severance, Black Death) has announced he would like to bring his own unique spin to the werewolf film. Tentatively titled Bitch one of his next projects is to be an exclusively female Werewolf movie.
Of course the female lycanthrope film is not an entirely new concept. Back in 2000 Ginger Snaps was an original ‘werewolf as puberty metaphor’ grisly tale that had Goth girls turn nasty and decidedly hairy (urh!) following a severe bite in the woods.
Smith commented that his favourite werewolf movie The Howling had “the greatest half hour in the genre” due to its intensely ambiguous opening and that this is a certain quality he would like to replicate in his own lycanthropic tale. But with only a few cast iron successes in the genre’s 70 year plus history the director will want to tread with...

You know that warm, glowing feeling you get when you meet someone who likes the things you like? "You enjoy 'The Wire,' you say? Me too! I was also struck by the compelling layers, the natural performances and the ultimate pay-off of each season. David Simon is truly a genius, a modern day Dickens." It's a nice feeling in this cold, harsh world. But doesn't that warm glow turn to a fiery hot jolt of joy when that shared love is for something truly awful and dumb? As I trundle along life's highways and byways, I find that the people I meet who love the following films earn my immediate and undying (until they kill it) affection. These are people who, like me, filled their ill-spent youth with TBS (my first love), TNT's "Monstervision" (Joe Bob Briggs, call me!) and USA's "Up All Night" (ultimately, too porny for my little eyes). Ah,...

2nd Update: Two remakes of British series were off to a promising start last night. The series premiere of MTV's Skins averaged 3.3 million viewers, 2.7 million of them (3.4 rating) in the 12-34 demographic. Skins, which aired at 10 Pm, drew the most 12-34 viewers for a series launch on MTV ever and a higher 12-34 rating than the premieres of such young-skewing scripted series as ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars (2.2 rating) and The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2.3 rating). But then they didn't have the hottest cable reality show as a lead-in. Skins, a remake of the popular British series, followed a special original Jersey Shore, which logged 7.7 million viewers and a 7.6 rating in persons 12-34. Next on the scripted side for MTV is the return of comedy The Hard Times of Rj Berger and the premiere of Teen Wolf. Meanwhile, the debut of Syfy's Being Human averaged 2 million viewers at 9 Pm.

The mid-to-late 1970s saw a number of movie fads: disaster flicks (The Towering Inferno, Airport), killer animal flicks inspired by the success of Steven Spielberg's Jaws (like the mutant bear movie Prophecy, the killer bee movies, etc.) and pseudo-documentaries about real life monsters and unexplained phenomena like UFOs. Notable among the latter portion of this wave of cheapo productions were the films made by Sunn Classic Pictures.
As a little kid whose mind was influenced by a steady stream of watching monster movies on late night television, Aurora models and the latest issues of Famous Monsters of Filmland and Starlog, the possibility that real-life monsters like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and space aliens could exist was like being told that Santa Claus was legit (but creepier and spookier, I suppose.) A werewolf comedy? Living Arrangements is not the first (Curse Of The Queerwolf comes to mind and of course there were those wacky Teen Wolf movies in the 80′s), but this endearing micro-budget indie from director Sam Thompson is more a subtle satire about hippie culture and vegan lifestyle than a horror comedy. It’s not laugh-out-loud funny and it’s never scary but it’s a very clever film that works on many levels. Bohemian newlyweds Sasha and Billie find a vacant and available new apartment near their favorite coffee shops and thrift stores. Life is good until they realize there’s a hungry werewolf living in the attic. Their attitude about this discovery is matter-of-fact but coping with the uninvited roommate challenges their vegan values and animal rights activism. The beast rejects their meals of tofu and bean sprouts and the flag-waving liberal couple fret when they are...

Burlesque, according to early word, is a ‘guilty pleasure’. As is Flash Gordon. As is Rocky IV. As is, it seems, most of Simon’s DVD collection. So why should he feel ‘guilty’ about it, exactly?
Hopefully, he'll not mind me badly quoting him, but there's a segment in the last tour by stand-up comedian Dara O Briain where he makes a comment about the notion of guilty pleasures. His argument, and it's a sound one, is why should you feel guilty about liking something that entertains you? (Assuming it's legal, of course.) The example he cites is the band Take That, but you don't have to look far to see many examples in the movie world.
Earlier this week, then, I saw Burlesque. It was a film I had no intention of going to see, until I saw the avalanche of reviews from our American cousins. For many of...

'The Vampire Diaries' star Michael Trevino is following in the footsteps of 'Teen Wolf' and Taylor Lautner before him: on Dec. 9, he's turning into a werewolf.
But don't expect too much CGI in his first on-screen transformation -- the believability of his full moon fever rests a lot on Trevino as an actor. And judging how he's handled losing some family members and discovering his pal Caroline (Candice Accola) also has supernatural powers, we think he'll do just fine.
I caught up with Trevino to hear more about his big episode, his wolf inspiration (seriously, I asked that -- what's wrong with me?) and that deepening flirtation with his best pal's best girl, Caroline. I try to keep an open mind, but I can’t say the teaser trailer for MTV’s Teen Wolf remake has won me over. In fact, I find myself at a loss.
The most glaring reason for my confusion is the decision to peg this TV project a “remake.” The only thing it seems to have in common with the Michael J. Fox classic is that the main character is a sports-playing teenage wolf. That’s about it. The main character, Scott (played by Tyler Posey), becomes a werewolf after being bitten (not as a result of his genetics...

Do people still watch MTV? I'm old and I haven't watched MTV since they played videos, back in the days before youtube. Somebody get me my cane while I tell you about the next big teen/youngish to middle-aged women sensation Because after the vampires, come the werewolves (see "True Blood"). Supernatural creatures are big these days...there's something groovy about falling in love with one, or being caught between two, or better yet, caught between two species. On television alone, we have the aforementioned "True Blood," "Supernatural," "The Vampire Diaries," "Being Human," and now, MTV is jumping in with its own version of "Teen Wolf." This take wants to be more dark and brooding than the Michael J. Fox original, and seems to aspire to Twilight heights(?). And speaking of Twilight, Tyler Posey looks like a cheap ripoff of Taylor Lautner; I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing,...

With the current fad of recycling 80’s movie favourites for a new audience still in vogue, here’s a product from that era which has been given the small screen treatment instead.

In the original, the Back to the Future star played a shy high school student whose transformation into a werewolf also transformed his social standing and popularity amongst his peers. The looks like the makers of the TV series haven’t strayed too far from the original concept, judging by the press release (below).

When it was first announced that MTV was producing a TV series based on the classic '80s comedy Teen Wolf, I think most of us knew where it was heading. Nonetheless, seeing the movie get the full Twilight makeover in this first trailer is still a bit of a shock to the system if you grew up with the original film. Thanks to the hunky Taylor Lautner, werewolves are hot, sexy and cool... they are no longer socially awkward geeks who struggle to come to terms with adolescence. There is no trace of the geeky charm that Michael J. Fox brought to the role, instead we have Tyler Posey in the lead role with the same chiseled good looks as every other teen heartthrob nowadays. I just don't understand why they even bothered to name it Teen Wolf. The title seems too innocent and goofy for this show, and...
