Talking Heads are throwing their weight behind Record Store Day 2024 with the release of a new live album that captures their famed 1977 performance for the Massachusetts radio station Wcoz.
Titled Live At Wcoz 77, the LP features the band’s 14-song live set from the November 1977 recording session. Previously, part of the show was released on their 1983 live album, The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads, but this will mark the first time the performance will be available in its entirety.
Live At Wcoz 77 boasts a tracklist featuring live versions of songs from Talking Heads’ debut album, Talking Heads ‘77, as well as from their then-unreleased second record, More Songs About Buildings and Food, including “Take Me to the River,” “The Good Thing,” and more. The record will arrive in a limited-edition run of 13,300 double albums, all sold exclusively at independent music retailers on April 20th, 2024. Check out the list of participating vendors.

While chatting with People ahead of the release of his new book Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life, the actor pointed out that the pair have different ideas of a good time, despite their “fantastic” relationship.
“Sly calls me: ‘Want to come on the yacht?’ What, do you think I’m going to ask, ‘When can I have dinner?’ It’s not going to happen,” Schwarzenegger recalled, telling the outlet: “I can get my own yacht. That’s not my trip. I can’t even relax under those circumstances.”
Being two of Hollywood’s biggest action stars over the last few decades, Schwarzenegger, 76, and Stallone, 77, have a historic heavy-loaded rivalry between them.

During the long career of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he has had an unusually varied group of job choices in sports, the entertainment industry and most recently in politics.
He first came to international attention as a bodybuilder winning both the Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia contests numerous times. He became the face of the then new sport of bodybuilding and that brought him to the attention of the entertainment industry. His first film was a low budget film called “Hercules in New York” for which he was mostly used for his physique. Due to his heavy accent his dialogue had to be dubbed by another actor. His notoriety increased with the bodybuilding documentary “Pumping Iron” which made him a familiar face to American audiences.
His second foray into films was more successful. For his supporting role in the film “Stay Hungry,” he earned a Golden Globe Award as Best Film Debut for a male actor.

Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story picks up with a 12-year-old Robert being sent to theatre camp getting attention from girls and being complimented by talk show host Steve Allen. That, especially the female attention, pointed him toward his career. And really, what better motivation can a young man have?
Best known for playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Robert Englund already had a long history in the genre. dating back to Tobe Hooper’s Eaten Alive in 1976. Who could forget his entrance announcing “My name’s Buck, and I’m here to fuck!” and the criminally underrated Dead and Buried in 1981 as well as Galaxy of Terror and a host of others. And it’s continued well past his time as Freddy, most recently doing voice acting in the bizarre puppet film Abruptio.

Were you as shocked as we were while watching “The Masked Singer” on March 29 to discover that the celebrity competing as the Doll was a man? When the character first appeared onstage at the start of the 80’s Night episode, we thought it was a woman hiding inside this elaborate costume. Only when we heard the Doll sing “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds did we realize that we had been duped.
The judges were just as surprised as we were. By the time the Doll sang “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran in the Battle Royal against Scorpio, we were focused on figuring out the name of the fellow that had fooled us. We’ve rewatched both of his performances and his clues package. Forget those guesses by them that Doll is Sebastian Bach, Gene Simmons or Donnie Wahlberg. We are sure we’ve know Doll’s true identity.

“I didn’t happen on the scene as a purebred,” says Sally Field. “I was the runt of the litter.” Having led three sitcoms by the time she was 28, she first gained notice as a dramatic actor in 1976’s Sybil, for which she earned her first Emmy and, she says, her first chance to put her talent to good use. An accomplished film career ensued, one that saw Field balancing dramas (she won Oscars for lead roles in 1979’s Norma Rae and 1984’s Places in the Heart, plus a nom for her supporting turn in 2012’s Lincoln) and comedies (Smokey and the Bandit, Steel Magnolias, Soapdish, Mrs. Doubtfire and this year’s 80 for Brady). She has also returned to TV multiple times, winning Emmys for a guest spot on ER and a lead role on Brothers & Sisters, the latter also earning her a SAG Award. This year, she will...

The action movies of the '80s were dominated by Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who developed an intense rivalry going back as far as the Golden Globes in 1977. The two actors found themselves seated at the same table and Arnie, the up-and-coming star who had already bagged an award for his role in "Stay Hungry," openly gloated as Sly's "Rocky" kept missing out on the big prizes. When Stallone's underdog tale finally came out of the envelope for Best Picture, he responded by throwing a bowl of flowers at the ungracious upstart.
Almost a decade later, the "Rocky" franchise unwittingly contributed to Schwarzenegger taking over for Stallone as Hollywood's biggest action hero. The story goes that, after "Rocky IV," a joke spread that the next logical step for the Italian Stallion would be for him to fight a visitor from outer space. That germ of an idea became the screenplay for "Predator,...

No horror fan needs to be introduced to the likes of Robert Englund, a name which in the collective imagery has become synonymous with so many different and varied aspects of the genre that he has left a deep and undeniable mark on. Needless to say, the thread holding together Englund’s celluloid persona is streaked with red and dark green, but the Californian actor could also resonate with many for the work he did with Tobe Hooper; his participation in ’90s items such as Urban Legend (1998), Strangeland (1998), and Wishmaster (1997); his previous work, during a time in which Freddy was still taking shape in the mind of Wes Craven, including Bruce D. Clark’s Galaxy of Terror (1981); or his recurring role as “Willie” in the TV series V (1983–1985).
Some might have discovered him through his more recent campy and grindhouse-inspired flicks like 2001 Maniacs (2005), Zombie Strippers (2008), or The Funhouse Massacre (2015). What...

Over the last few years, the MTV Video Music Awards have largely gone host-less, save for Kevin Hart, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry's duties as MCs, in 2012, 2015, and 2017 respectively. Otherwise, recent years have all passed without anyone playing host for the annual award show celebrating music's biggest artists and their music videos. But, this year will be different - in June, MTV named Sebastian Maniscalco as the 2019 show's big host. Yes, really.
If you're wondering why MTV decided to pick the 45-year-old comedian to host a show that's typically aimed at a demographic much, much younger, well . . . I don't have an answer for you. Maybe the network is trying to pull in the type of audiences who loved Green Book? The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, using money from the license fees it gets from NBC for the Golden Globes, gave away $3.8 million to 74 entertainment-related nonprofit organizations, scholarship programs, film-restoration and humanitarian groups Wednesday night at its annual Grants Banquet at the Beverly Wilshire. It’s part of the HFPA’s year-round efforts in this philanthropic area. President Lorenzo Soria said the total is now nearly $7 million in 2019 alone. In the past 25 years, the organization has donated $37.5 million.
Host Arnold Schwarzenegger got things rolling by giving a chief reason why he was chosen as M.C. – and taking a veiled swipe at President Donald Trump in the process. “I have a special connection to the HFPA because I am actually foreign,” the actor said. “And I have chosen not to ‘go back to my country’ but stay here, live here and make a difference here. And to me, that is what makes America great.

On July 30, 2019 Arnold Schwarzenegger will celebrate his 72nd birthday. Over his long career, he has had an unusually varied career in sports, the entertainment industry and most recently in politics.

Five years before Luke Perry joined the class of “90210,” the young actor had another school-themed role: he was a jean-jacket clad, MTV-shirt wearing extra in the video for Twisted Sister’s 1985 single “Be Chrool to Your Scuel.” The song was from 1985’s “Come Out and Play” album, the less-successful followup to the 1984 album “Stay Hungry,” featuring the breakout hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.”

Sally Field opened up about some of her life’s darkest moments in an interview Tuesday with the New York Times.
The article arrives just a week before the Sept. 18 release of her memoir “In Pieces,” which details her life as a celebrity and her role as a mother to three sons during two different marriages. Read some of the biggest revelations from her interview below.
1. She experienced sexual abuse from her stepfather.
Field begins the interview with the story behind her 2012 speech at the Omega Institute’s Women and Power conference. During the speech, she shared how she told her mother about the sexual abuse she experienced at the hands of her stepfather. Field said she was often summoned to his bedroom alone until the abuse stopped when she turned 14.
“I was shaking all over to do it,” she said of her 2012 speech. “But I felt strengthened by that faceless mass of unknown people.

Sally Field described her memoir, In Pieces, as “incredibly raw, intimate and personal” — and she meant it.
The two-time Oscar-winning actress, 71, spoke with the New York Times recently about the revelations of the book, including a shocking allegation about her stepfather, actor and stuntman Jock Mahoney. Field says that when she was 14 years old, he would frequently call her into his bedroom alone.
“I knew,” she wrote in her memoir, according to the Nyt. “I felt both a child, helpless, and not a child. Powerful. This was power. And I owned it. But I wanted to be a child — and yet.

Sally Field bounces back in this story of mismatched love - or a romantic delusion... that is 3/4 charm and 1/4 wishful thinking. The May-October romance isn't an outright farce like Harold and Maude, so a few of the comic situations are somewhat wince-inducing. Or am I just feeling my own 'October' discomfort? Field fans should love it anyway.
