Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya? You should, if you’re a Clint Eastwood fan, because Warner Brothers has announced the forthcoming release of a massive retrospective box set of his work at the studio. Clint Eastwood: 35 Films, 35 Years at Warner Bros. is set to hit stores Feb. 16 at $179.98, and will cover a large swathe of the squinting icon’s filmography, from 1968’s Where Eagles Dare to last year’s Gran Torino (which by my fifth-grade math skills, is 40 years, but I’m not complaining). It will also include Eastwood Factor, a documentary on the filmmaker by Time magazine critic Richard Schickel.

Otto Preminger's In Harm's Way will get a rare 70mm showing at the film festival.
If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting Germany and you love classic wide-screen movies, here's your chance to combine both. The Todd A-0 70mm Film Festival will be held October 2-4 at the Schauburg Cinema in Karlsruhe. The festival will offer a rare opportunity to view wide-screen epics on a giant curved screen in the company of an audience consisting of international movie fans. The line-up is creative enough to have our tongues hanging out already:
Paint Your Wagon starring Clint Eastwood and Lee MarvinThe Fall of the Roman Empire by wide-screen king Samuel BronstonKrakatoa, East of Java (okay, we know Krakatoa was actually west of Java, but who cares?)Julius Caesar starring Marlon BrandoFunny Girl starring Barbra StreisandThat's EntertainmentSolomon and Sheba starring Yul Brynner and Gina LollobrigidaIn Harm's Way starring John Wayne

Is Clint Eastwood the Longest-Running Movie Star Ever?

With Clint Eastwood's return to the top of the box office courtesy of Gran
Torino, I thought it might be revealing to see what movie star had the most box office clout the
longest. In order to determine a winner, we're relying heavily on end-of-the-year box office numbers, and
then digging a little deeper beyond that.
This is not a list of who's made the most money. That's a completely different argument, especially because the industry has changed so much in just the past 20 years in terms of what actors get paid. We want to know which actor or actress most consistently produced big hits the over the longest period of time.
Keep in mind that Tom Hanks hasn't even been a top ten draw for 25 years and you begin to see how difficult this list is to crack. Realistically, Harrison Ford can qualify, thanks to the success of the last Indiana Jones.
