The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Bond does have sex several times, but you do not see anything graphic. We see Bond covered up by some bed sheets. We see his bare chest.

The female lead is in a two-piece bathing suit for a portion of the film (see movie cover).

Bond and Honey are captured by the bad guys and forced to strip naked and go through a decontamination chamber. No nudity is shown by Bond but Honey is seen walking nude from the de-con chamber. Her stark naked body is covered by a shadow. Her breasts are also visible as she walks open armed toward a Japanese woman in hazmat suit. The hazmat woman wraps her in a dressing gown.

Violence & Gore

A man is shot and killed at the beginning. No blood or gore is shown.

A man is shot repeatedly, but only the reaction is shown.

Profanity

Several uses of 'hell' and one use of 'damn'.

Most of the important characters smoke: Bond (Sean Connery), Leiter (Jack Lord) and Quarrel (John Kitzmiller) smoke cigarettes, M (Bernard Lee) as usual his pipe, Dent (Anthony Dawson) a cigar. In addition, Dr. No (Joseph Wiseman) does on a strange looking pipe, so it could be even something else than tobacco, but no proof, there. Much backround smoking and also smoking by lots of supporting characters.

Using a standardized scoring system, this film received a smoking rating of 4 Butts (on a scale of 0-4 Butts). For more information on the impact of onscreen smoking and the initiation of youth tobacco use, or for more information on the rating system, visit www.smokescreeners.org.

Drinking of alcohol ist throughout the movie including Wodka Martinis for 007.

No illegal drugs here...

Several murders by gunshot.

A man gets burnt to death by fire.

A spider is put in Bond's bed. When he wakes up, he sees the tarantula crawling up his arm.
