Bhubaneswar, Jan 22 (Ians) India messed up a plethora of chances and a 3-1 lead midway through the third quarter to allow New Zealand to come back and hold them 3-3 in regulation time and then fluffed a few more chances in the shoot-out to lose 4-5 in sudden death in their Crossover stage match and crashed out of the Fih Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup, here on Sunday.
It was a story of errors and missed chances as India held a 2-0 lead just before half-time but allowed New Zealand to score a late goal to make it 2-1 at the breather. On resumption, the Indians extended the lead to 3-1 but poor marking in the circle and basic error while defending allowed New Zealand to score two quick goals and hold Graham Reid’s side 3-3 at the end of 60 minutes of play.

It was a lionhearted performance from the Indians as they went ahead early in the first quarter but were staring down the barrel as the Black Sticks scored once in the second quarter and twice in the third to make it 3-1. The Indians played attacking hockey with a lot of cohesion and defended superbly as they came back despite being a man down for 10 minutes in the third quarter.

Superman and Lois Episode 4
One of the most tired arguments in comics is about whether or not Superman is too powerful to tell good stories with. The plethora of exceptional, meaningful, moving Superman stories out there should put that argument to bed for good, but if they haven’t, feel free to direct anyone making it to “Haywire,” the fourth episode of what’s shaping up to be one of the best Superman arcs ever.
To my mind, the key Superman conflict has nothing to do with his power level and everything to do with the fact that he can’t be everywhere at once. He is a man who wants to help everyone, but has to prioritize where he can be and how much time he can stay there, and those choices all have consequences. That’s basically the thesis statement of...

Supergirl, Season 1, Episode 9, “Blood Bonds”
Written by Ted Sullivan & Derek Simon
Directed by Steve Shill
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
The last episode of Supergirl saw numerous developments occur, from the attack by Non and the Kyptonians on Maxwell Lord’s research facilities to Cat revealing that she was aware that Kara and Supergirl were the same person. This week’s return tackles the aftermath of both storylines, further revealing Lord’s true intentions while delving deeper into what makes General Sam Lane tick and how he truly feels about Kryptonians and alien species, in an episode that unfortunately suffers from being overstuffed with too many developments.
Kara trying to determine her place between the humans and Kryptonians, and trying to get Hemshaw back while also attempting to prevent any mistreatment of Astra, makes for a compelling storyline. The question of Kara’s identity, and her attempt to find a place,...

Between the way Supergirl‘s Winter finale ended and the recent news that we’ll be seeing Bizarro at some point next year, the DC Comics adaptation needs to return to TV as soon as possible.
To help tide us over until we can get our next dose of their hit show, CBS has released the first official images from the upcoming ninth episode, and as well as a new look at Sam Lane (the father of Lois), we get to see Supergirl delivering her aunt into custody. How long she’ll stay locked up by the Deo though is hard to say, especially with her vengeful husband on the warpath in National City.
Here’s the synopsis for the episode, courtesy of CBS:
“With Astra in captivity at the Deo, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides.

Supergirl’s latest adventure arrived on screens earlier this week, bringing along some familiar DC names with it.
Titled Red Faced, the episode saw the arrival of General Sam Lane, father to a certain Lois and Lucy Lane, in National City. With the plan of investigating Supergirl further, General Lane snarls his way through every scene as he constantly looks to put the blame for any and all problems at the door of the Maid of Might.
Along with General Lane comes Red Tornado. A spin on the DC comic book hero, this version of Red Tornado is an android who is part of Lane’s plan to push Supergirl to her limits. When the android goes rogue, the Girl of Steel becomes Lane’s last hope in avoiding total catastrophe in National City.
By the time Red Faced had come to an end, much like with previous episodes,...

After spinning its wheels for a couple of episodes, Supergirl gets right back on track with this anger-themed instalment...
This review contains spoilers.
1.6 Red-Faced
We're back in the correct timeline on Supergirl after a couple of weeks of muddled chronology, and thankfully this episode is more like some of the show's stronger efforts than last week's pretty underwhelming How Does She Do It? It's finally building up enough momentum for its thematic elements to evolve beyond the basic, kid-friendly messaging that's been present since the pilot, and that's more apparent than ever in Red-Faced.
The issue of the week that Kara must overcome is anger, and how she expresses that anger at work, in her personal life and out in the field as Supergirl. After scaring some kids while saving them from a dangerous driver and exploding at Cat after a particularly harsh slew of criticisms, Kara decides (or,...

Sure, Kara Danvers might be able to cook meat with her eyes, punch through the roof of a car without blinking and freeze anything in her path just by breathing on it — but she’s still just your average feminist.
In Monday’s installment of Supergirl, Kara was forced to learn a tough lesson — that getting angry in public isn’t so easy when you’re a woman — while simultaneously facing down the newest threat to National City. Let’s recap the details of “Red-Faced.’

Three new clips have been released from this Monday’s episode of Supergirl, and while they all shed some light on what we should expect from the episode, by far the most exciting thing here is seeing Red Tornado in action. While his appearance has been widely mocked by comic book fans, it’s fair to say that he looks much better here than we expected him to.
In Supergirl, Red Tornado will be a military cyborg commissioned by Lucy Lane’s father, General Sam Lane (Glenn Morshower), and when personal and professional stress get the better of Kara, it sounds like she ends up going too far when the young hero is pitted against him in a training exercise.

Kara Danvers has fought a lot of villains on "Supergirl", each with different strengths and skills. In the upcoming episode, "Red Faced", Kara has to fight not just a villain, but a military combat device gone rogue. This device is known as the "Red Tornado". It is a military-grade combat robot developed by General Lane. This device has the super strength of a terminator, and will be an intense adversary for Kara (Melissa Benoist) to take down. The episode title, "Red Faced", may allude not only to the literal red-faced cyborg, but also to Kara overcoming multiple embarrassments, including being yelled at by General Lane and her boss Cat Grant. CBS has released the first official description and image for the upcoming sixth episode of Supergirl. This one is set to air on the same day as Gotham‘s midseason finale, which may just prove to be pretty tough competition in the ratings.
However, Supergirl has so far forged a really strong identity of its own, and while there are a few kinks which definitely need to be worked out over the coming weeks and months, it’s so far proving to be a great addition to Warner Bros.’ slate of DC Comics projects on the small screen (it feels so close to Arrow and The Flash that it’s hard not get mad that The CW decided against picking it up).
Here’s the description of the episode – titled “Red Faced” – which is set to put Supergirl against Red Tornado:

Of course, he’s not exactly the most exciting of villains, but the latest addition to the cast of the CBS series may give you a greater reason to be excited for what’s to come in the show, which will chronicle the adventures of Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El.
The Hollywood Reporter has today revealed that Transporter: The Series star Chris Vance has landed a recurring role in Supergirl as Non, a character described as a former scientist in a league with the House of El. Non is a brutal Kryptonian military officer who is sinister, powerful and angry. He’s the antithesis of all things Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) stands for and will quickly become her greatest threat.

Glenn Morshower’s credits include everything from 24 to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Transformers, and X-Men: First Class, and the recurring theme there is that he almost always plays a character with some sort of tie to the military. That takes nothing away from him as an actor, however, as he always does a great job, but it’s hard to escape the feeling that he’s been typecast as General Sam Lane in Supergirl.
There’s been talk for a while now of the character appearing in the series when it debuts this Fall, and this version of Lane is described as a powerful military lifer and an overprotective father to both Lucy Lane and her sister, Lois. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative.

She not plays a romantic foil with whatever Kara and James are brewing, but people will also be surprised that she’s really a woman’s woman. She and Kara develop their own friendship, too. It looks like Melissa Benoist’s Kara Danvers is going to have a bit of a pest problem on her hands, as CBS’s Supergirl TV series has added another villain to its roster in the form of Hellgrammite, who will be played by Powers actor Justice League Leak.
In the DC Comics universe, Hellgrammite (which is the name of a real insect, just in case you were wondering) started out as an entomologist named Roderick Rose, who was transformed into an insectoid monster after an experiment went wrong. According to Entertainment Weekly, the small screen take on this handsome fella will actually be “an alien that Supergirl will be chasing,” which does make more sense given the main character’s origins.
On the villain front we already have Sons of Anarchy alum Chris Browning as Reactron, and we recently found out that former True Blood actress Brit Morgan would be playing Livewire.

Fellow DC adaptations Arrow and The Flash may have enjoyed crossover events in the past, but during the Television Critics Association earlier today, CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler revealed that the network currently has no plans to implement a similar strategy with Ali Adler’s Supergirl series.
In an effort to respect the origins of one Kara Zor-El, Tassler revealed her apprehensions about a potential crossover and how it can read as disingenuous if it doesn’t harmonize with the remainder of the universe. As such, don’t hold your breath for Melissa Benoist’s titular heroine to swoop into action on either Arrow or The Flash anytime soon.
“I’m a little bit of a superhero geek and I have a lot of respect for what characters inhabit certain universes,” Tassler said. “You can’t just pick up one character and let them fly over and appear in another setting.
