ABC‘s The Company You Keep has featured a slew of noteworthy guest stars in its first four episodes, from Luke Kirby as Jones to Marin Hinkle as Claire Fox. And the show adds another familiar face in The Company You Keep Season 1 Episode 5 — Paul Blackthorne.

After being slighted by her half-brother Connor Maguire in The Company You Keep Season 1 Episode 4, Daphne Finch is out for revenge. And perhaps she has set her sights on Paul Blackthorne’s character, John Baylor, in The Company You Keep Season 1 Episode 5 as a result.
The synopsis for “The Spy Who Loved Me” reads, “Daphne enlists the Nicolettis to steal a book of blackmail from a DC fixer. Later, Charlie puts his relationship with Emma on the line to ensure her safety.

The Nicoletti family is hard at work paying back Daphne Finch and the Irish mob in ABC‘s The Company You Keep. But Milo Ventimiglia’s Charlie is also trying to pursue his romantic connection with (secret) CIA agent Emma Hill after they met in the premiere. And the new couple took their relationship to the next level while the Nicolettis pulled off another con in The Company You Keep Episode 3, “Against All Odds.”

It may not be the second coming of Friday Night Lights or The Good Wife, but ABC’s Will Trent is probably my favorite broadcast network TV drama of the year. What I appreciate most about the Karin Slaughter adaptation is how quickly it established its characters, its location and the elements of its premise that are relatively distinctive. The show became what it aspired to be in a hurry.
No such alacrity accompanies ABC’s new drama The Company You Keep. Wade through two episodes of belabored exposition and The Company You Keep becomes a promising rom-com with thriller trappings and an interesting family backdrop — not a series fully realized but a series with some potential.
The kind of show it wants to be, basically, is The Catch, a Shonda Rhimes-produced comedic heist romance that ABC developed, redeveloped and redeveloped again over a truncated two-season run back in...

Sarah Wayne Callies, who starred on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” as Lori Grimes over its first three seasons, remembered showrunner Frank Darabont’s highly-publicized exit from the hit series as an “assassination.”
Darabont was fired during “The Walking Dead” Season 2 as it was en route to becoming one of TV’s highest-rated and most-watched series. In response, the filmmaker and his agency CAA filed a string of lawsuits against AMC beginning in 2013 that carried on for several years until the two sides reached a 200 million settlement in 2021.
“To me, it just felt like an assassination,” Callies said of Darabont’s firing during a recent appearance on Twd co-star Jon Bernthal’s Real Ones podcast. “The reasons that we were given were that he’s unexperienced as a showrunner and he’s unprepared and he doesn’t know what he’s doing. In a manner similar to what happens with the television schedules, the streaming services suddenly go quiet in the summer. For true cinema fans this is pretty good news because the art house stuff comes along as well as some of the better catalogue titles that might have appeared elsewhere before.
It will probably be September before any subscription winning blockbusters are added again but the smart money is on one of the big ones adding The Avengers and (fingers crossed) the last season of Breaking Bad.
By the time you read this, the new Netflix exclusive series Orange is the New Black from the creator of Weeds, will be available on Netflix. Early word is that it’s actually the best Netflix exclusive title so far, which is good news after the horrendous Hemlock Grove. I will weigh in with an opinion next month.

The Walking Dead, Season 3, Episode 10: “Home”
Written by Nichole Beattie
Directed by Seith Mann
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on AMC
The midseason premiere of AMC’s third season of The Walking Dead left many people worried. While the third season has been, by and large, a vast improvement over Season two, last week’s “The Suicide King” was a major disappointment. Thankfully the series picked up this week. “Home” is an impressively directed episode that delivers everything you could want from The Walking Dead: clever direction, lashings of gore, a witty, intelligent script, strong characters and two particularly amazing action-set-pieces.
So what makes “Home” so much better than “The Suicide King”? Well for starters, The Walking Dead creators seem to know how to direct action as well as they create scares. Sure the special effects team over at AMC does gore to perfection, but The Walking Dead...

Two teen-centered films from New Line and FilmNation have been quietly picking up steam as of late, and while neither production packs tremendous star power under its respective wings, our latest casting report shows they've decided to pull in some fine character actors and fresh talent instead. After more than a year donning hours-worth of make-up every day in order to play Thorin Oakenshield in “The Hobbit,” actor Richard Armitage (“Mi-5”) must be pretty thrilled to be starring next as a flesh-and-blood human, this time in an untitled New Line disaster flick. He'll join Sarah Wayne (“The Walking Dead”), as well as newcomer Alycia Debnam-Carey in the film, which follows a group of high school teenagers who contend with the immediate aftermath of a devastating tornado. Helming the film is director Steve Quale (“Final Destination 5”), working from John Swetnam's script, and while no word has been revealed on the.

Breaking: Richard Armitage, who plays Dwarves’ leader Thorin Oakenshield in the Peter Jackson-directed The Hobbit, will move over to star in another New Line film. He’ll topline the untitled tornado film, the one that originally was set up under the title Category 6. Armitage has an accomplished resume, and was particularly good as tragic agent Lucas North in the British series Mi-5. Are you still buzzing about the Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead? Good, because we are too. Well know that Season 3 is already in full bloom. Showrunner Glen Mazzara and his writing staff are outlining episodes 3.01 to 3.06 and they’ve pitched through episode 3.08, and once they’re approved the first eight episodes of season three will be written.
Mazzara took time out of prepping Season 3 to answer burning questions the press had about the Season 2 finale and what to look forward to in season 3. There are light spoilers ahead but nothing that would ruin the experience of next season. What follows is a compilation of two extensive conference calls with Mazzara about The Walking Dead that BuzzFocus participated in. There are Two pages of Q&A. Many of your concerns are addressed in the following piece and if anything, should keep the flame burning brightly for Season 3.

An international trailer for an upcoming film called Faces in the Crowd starring Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), Sarah Wayne Calles and Julian McMahon has just arrived and I'm sorry, but it's quite a laugh riot. Here's the plot: A horror-thriller centered on Anna Marchant (Jovovich), a woman living with "face-blindness" after surviving a serial killer's attack. As she lives with her condition, one in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them, the killer closes in. Along with the international trailer I also have a pre-production trailer that was shot for the film that is even funnier as it pretty much uses the "imagine you live in a world..." cliche over, and over, and over again to the score from The Dark Knight score. I've added both of them directly below. Give 'em a watch and try not to laugh or you may be the next person to wake up with.

AMC releases the second trailer to its zombie series "The Walking Dead" which will premiere right on Halloween this year at 10/9c. Chronicling a band of survivors' attempt to keep themselves alive months and years after a zombie apocalypse, the show comes from director of "The Shawshank Redemption" and the producer of "The Terminator".
Led by police officer Rick Grimes, the group travels in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.
The cast Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Wayne recently attended 2010 Mipcom in Cannes to promote the show for international market.
