Prepare to meet George Jetson (again).
ABC is teaming with producer Warner Bros. Television to develop a live-action multicamera comedy based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon family from the 1960s.
The comedy, which has landed at ABC with a sizable put-pilot commitment, will be written by Gary Janetti (Family Guy, Will & Grace), who exec produces alongside Jack Rapke and Robert Zemeckis.
The ABC take is based on the original animated series, set 100 years in the future and revolves around America's favorite future family — told through a modern filter. Warner Bros. Television, who was behind the original Jetsons, produces alongside Nickleby Inc. and Compari Entertainment. Jackie Levine is set as a co-ep.

Robert Zemeckis will not be directing The Flash for Warner Brothers as his next film. The director of Back to the Future and Forrest Gump will team with former The Office manager and The Daily Show correspondent Steve Carell for a feature adaptation of Jeff Malmberg‘s 2010 documentary, Marwencol. Universal and DreamWorks Pictures announced that the film, which is being produced under the running title Marwencol, is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 21st 2018.
Zemeckis co-wrote the screenplay with Caroline Thompson (Edward Scissorhands, The Addams Family, The Nightmare Before Christmas). Zemeckis and Universal have been working on the project since 2013, when it was being described as a blend of reality and fantasy.

Exclusive: TNT has put in development Cold Feet, a drama executive produced by Robert Zemeckis. The project, in the vein of It’s A Wonderful Life, centers on a runaway bride who, when she wishes she had never been born, sees the effect her absence has on the people she loves and decides to stick around to make things right. It is written/co-executive produced by Dave Ryan (General Hospital, All My Children), who started his career in features, before segueing to daytime TV. This is his foray into primetime TV. Jack Rapke, Zemeckis and Jackie Levine executive produce through Lupara Prods., the television arm of Zemeckis’ ImageMovers. Ryan is repped by CAA, which also reps ImageMovers, as well as Alan Gasmer, and Nick Gladden.

The Director of 2009's A Christmas Carol is on board to produce the live-action/CG hybrid film based on the comedy novel that prepares garden owners with tips on surviving a murderous gnome attack. That's why he'll be producing "How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack" film alongside Sony Pictures Animation.Zemeckis will be producing with Jack Rapke under ImageMovers alongside Gotham Group's own Eric Robinson, Jackie Levine and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein.
