Winner of last year's Outstanding Animated Series Emmy, "Bob's Burgers" has been renewed for a sixth season on Fox. The network announced on Thursday (January 8) that it has picked up an additional 22 episodes of 'Bob's Burgers" for the 2015-16 season. "Bob's Burgers still has, by my unscientific count, 14 more episodes left to air this year in its fifth season. This is particularly good news for "Bob's Burgers" fans since the animated comedy is still relatively low-rated and lost a vocal champion in departed Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. This renewal is the show's first courtesy of new Fox Television Group Chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman. "We can't help but love the Belcher family. This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on Fox," blurb Walden and Newman.

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

The force majeure ax swung wide Monday as four TV studios -- CBS Paramount Network TV, Universal Media Studios, 20th Century Fox Television and Warner Bros. TV -- tore up dozens of overall deals.
All four issued similarly worded statements blaming the writers strike for the terminations, which are expected to save the studios tens of millions of dollars. But none came close to the nearly 30 overall deals axed at ABC Studios on Friday. CBS Par and 20th TV each dropped half that number. UMS and WBTV stayed in the single digits, with WBTV's termination tally said to be less than five deals. Like ABC Studios, CBS Par, UMS, 20th TV and WBTV mostly went after writers, producers and directors with no active projects.
CBS Par's force majeure list includes some high-profile writing and nonwriting producers: Hugh Jackman, whose Seed Prods. inked a multiyear deal at the studio in August; "The Chronicles of Narnia" producer Mark Johnson; veteran writer-producer Rene Echevarria, who co-created CBS Par's USA Network series "The 4400" (he will continue his services as exec producer on the studio's NBC drama "Medium"); the Emmy-winning "Sopranos" writing duo of Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green; Barry Schindel ("Numbers"); and John McNamara ("Fastlane").
Scribes Jennifer Levin ("Without a Trace"), Liz Astrof ("The King of Queens") and the team of Aron Abrams and Greg Thompson ("Everybody Hates Chris") also received termination letters from CBS Par.

CBS has given a late pilot pickup to I'm in Hell, a single-camera comedy starring Jason Biggs.
The project, from CBS Paramount Network TV, centers on a high-flying Wall Street Guy Biggs) who dies in a BlackBerry-related car crash. Because hell is at full capacity, he is reassigned to "hell on Earth." He is stripped of his career, his fancy apartment and the fabulous trappings of his former existence and must figure out a way to get by.
Aron Abrams and Greg Thompson (Everybody Hates Chris) penned the script and are executive producing. Biggs and his manager Peter Kiernan are producing.
Biggs, whose starmaking turn in the American Pie movies made him a household name, had been actively pursued to do pilots in the past few years. If Hell goes to series, Biggs will be on the same network as his "Pie" co-star Alyson Hannigan, who is on CBS' How I Met Your Mother.
CBS has been high on resurrection concepts this pilot season. The network's one-hour pilot Babylon Fields is a comedic drama about a town where the dead come back to resume their lives.
