Jeff Jenkins made his name in unscripted television as an executive producer of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” among other shows. But he’d been thinking about starting his own production company for some time before exiting his position as co-president of Bunim-Murray Productions. His desire to entertain viewers and inspire meaningful conversations with his shows pushed him to take the leap.
“We get to tell stories that, once in a while, actually can help advance our human culture in a small way,” Jenkins told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View.
That’s what he’s striving to do at Jeff Jenkins Productions, which he formed in 2018, a year after leaving Bunim-Murray, alongside 3Bmg Entertainment’s CEO Ross Weintraub and Chairman Reinout Oerlemans. 3Bmg co-produces the programming alongside Jenkins and his company, which operates out of 3Bmg’s production offices in Sherman Oaks.

The last thing people might have expected from “NCIS: LA” stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J is a reality series where professional child dancers invite their parents onto the dance floor, but it turns out the heartwarming “Come Dance With Me” competition, which premieres April 15 on CBS, is very much in their wheelhouse.
During a virtual CBS panel on Wednesday, O’Donnell revealed he’s been working on the idea for a few years with Reinout Oerlemans at 3 Ball Productions, and that his crime-solving partner on TV wanted in on the project.
“Chris came to me with this germ of an idea and I immediately gravitated towards it, “said Cool J. “I thought it was an incredible idea. I thought it was really fun. I thought the energy was right. This was pre-pandemic, but even at that time, I felt like the world could use a nice family...

Chris O’Donnell was on set at “NCIS: Los Angeles,” checking his emails, when co-star LL Cool J started looking over his shoulder. O’Donnell happened to be reading about a reality TV idea that his buddy Reinout Oerlemans had just pitched.
The concept is what would become “Come Dance With Me,” a new family-oriented dance competition that premieres April 15 on CBS. But at that moment, O’Donnell wasn’t quite sure he was up for working on a competition show.
“[LL] says, ‘What are you looking at?’” O’Donnell recalled. “I told him it was my friend’s idea for a new show. He goes, ‘I think that thing’s hot! You should do it. This is up your alley.’ And then he was like, ‘I’ll do it if you do it!’”
O’Donnell replied to Oerlemans: “So good news, not only will I do it, but my buddy Todd will do it too!

Bling Empire received a renewal, along with Selling Sunset, although the latter show received a two-season renewal rather than the usual one at a time. "These shows follow a person or group of people going about their real, everyday lives. They can offer a fun, lighthearted escape, or inspire a juicy, heated debate," Brandon Riegg, Netflix's vice president of unscripted and documentary series, said in a statement. Netflix has renewed its popular docusoaps “Selling Sunset” and “Bling Empire,” and has ordered two new series from the creators of both shows.
In a blog post on Wednesday morning, Brandon Riegg, the streamer’s vice president of unscripted and documentary series, announced the renewals and series orders. “Selling Sunset” has been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5, while a second season of “Bling Empire,” which premiered in January, has also been ordered.
Both shows follow the lives of the 1% in Los Angeles. “Bling Empire” — from executive producers Jeff Jenkins, Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans, and showrunner Brandon Panaligan — chronicles the ostentatiously fabulous lives of a clique of Asian and Asian American friends. “Selling Sunset,” created by Adam Divello (“The Hills”) and produced by Lionsgate, follows the high-end realtors at The Oppenheim Group in West Hollywood.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Love Life Trailer A few weeks ago I talked about a trailer called New Kids Turbo. While I've yet to see the doc myself (I reference Claire Denis' White Material when I think of what the film might hold narratively), when the Cinema Eye Honor Noms were released I was surprised to see that, despite the positive buzz, Lucy Bailey and Andrew Thompson's Mugabe and the White African only manage to grab one nomination. Clearly the film is a favorite for the 2009 edition of the Ida Awards - it picked up three nominations in the Feature Documentary, ABCNews VideoSource Award an the Pare Lorentz Award categories. - While I've yet to see the doc myself (I reference Claire Denis' White Material when I think of what the film might hold narratively), when the Cinema Eye Honor Noms were released I was surprised to see that, despite the positive buzz, Lucy Bailey and Andrew Thompson's Mugabe and the White African only manage to grab one nomination.

We should have known this was the case! Earlier in the week reports surfaced that Nadya Suleman had secured a reality show for herself and her children, which was picked up by a in the U.K. network Eyeworks, even saying it was “official.” But Eyeworks reported today that there was no such deal in place and no U.K. networks have in fact signed Nadya to any deal. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a future for the Octomom. Eyeworks CEO Reinout Oerlemans said today, "At this time we are in active negotiations with Nadya and her...

In the latest twist in the Octomom saga, several media outlets reported Wednesday that Nadya Suleman has finally landed a reality TV show deal.
Except there was one problem: It wasn't true, at least not yet.
Suleman told Life & Style magazine that she'd signed a deal with U.K. production house Eyeworks.
"Yes, it is official," Suleman was quoted as saying. "I'm going to be doing a show, but it's not a reality show. What I'm doing with this TV show is basically creating documentaries about the lives of my children. ... It will air in the U.K. and then we'll see if the U.S. is interested."
But it wasn't official. No U.K. network has signed to carry the show.
And even Eyeworks said it didn't have a deal with her yet, though the parties are in talks.
