About a month ago we learned that Guillermo del Toro might direct a big screen adaption of the classic kids horror book series by Alvin Schwartz, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Variety recently confirmed that he is looking at directing the film, which he is currently developing, and that CBS Films has hired writers Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman to polish the script. They previously worked on The Lego Movie.
It would make sense for Del Toro to take on this project, and I imagine this will be the next film he works on. Earlier this week we learned that he had passed the directing duties for Pacific Rim 2 on to Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight, which tells me that he’s got something cooking that he would much rather do, and I think that project is Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. At least, I hope it is!

And whilst its February 2014 release date might still seem a way off, we all know that it will be coming around in no time. And now Warner Bros. have released a brilliant first trailer for the film, giving us our first look at what we can expect Lego to look like on the big screen.

Hollywood is awash with people saying "now why didn't I think of that?" The latest idea to provoke such murmurs is a feature built around the Acme warehouse – the cartoon construct where many of the Looney Tunes characters, most notoriously Wile E Coyote in his quest to catch the Road Runner, bought their rockets etc. Kevin and Dan Hageman brought the project to Warner Bros as a Men in Black-style live-action/CG hybrid featuring the many outlandish devices of the Acme empire, but not the Looney Tunes characters themselves. The deal made in the mid-six figures for the writers and WB is hoping a franchise will explode from the idea.

Acme, the fictional company of the Looney Tunes universe best known for their faulty catapults and defective TNT, is getting its own movie.
Warner Bros. has bought a pitch from Kevin and Dan Hageman which will, in some capacity, take place in the Acme warehouse, home of products that tend to not do their job and result in animated coyotes falling off cliffs or being blown to ash or being crushed by boulders. This looks to be the first big project for the Hageman brothers, whose present IMDb pages are nothing to brag about (Kevin was an "assistant" on the 1999 comedy 'Mystery Men').

Warner Brothers has just signed onto a new pitch for a live-action/CGI hybrid Looney Tunes film revolving around the classic Acme Warehouse, the mysterious provider and distributor of explosive devices within in the Looney Tunes universe.
Brothers Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman will be writing the script from their pitch. Warners Bros. owns Looney Tunes, and hopes to build a franchise around the idea. The plan is to make a live-action CG hybrid featuring the many outlandish devices of the company. It will not feature the Looney Tunes characters.
There was a Wii video game that came out back in 2007 that was called Acme Arsenal, but it didn’t directly relate to company that is referred to quite often in the cartoons.

It’s pretty clear that Warners is continuing the slowly eked out death cry of the Looney Tunes franchise. Brendan Fraser hanging out with Bugs and the gang was a disaster, but that won’t stop them from trying to shove once immortal characters into the cultural landscape. Neither will the fact that wearing Taz on your shirt to signify you were cool went out around the same time as that shirt you owned that explained that you “ran with the big dogs.” Alongside Mike Myers voicing Pepe Le Pew, Warners is also looking to take a look into the company that created every faulty product that’s ever appeared in a Looney cartoon. On the optimistic front, staging a film inside a factory that’s clearly insane is not a bad idea (it could have given more life to Extract), but the track record on these films hasn’t been stellar recently, and...

This actually sounds like it could be quite fun. Heat Vision reports that Warner Bros has picked up a pitch from writers/brothers Kevin & Dan Hageman that focuses on the fictional Acme warehouse from the Looney Tunes world. They came up with the idea, independently, to create a live-action CG hybrid feature film focused around the Acme warehouse featuring the many outlandish devices that the company makes, with a tone that similar to the Amblin movies of the 1980s or a Men in Black-style movie. However, it won't actually feature any of the Looney Tunes characters. So how exactly will it work then? We're not really sure. The project is just starting to come together, but Warner Bros, who owns Looney Tunes anyway, is on-board and will develop with producers Dan Lin (The Box, Sherlock Holmes) and Roy Lee (Shutter, The Strangers, Quarantine, The Uninvited). The Acme "Factory" was...

Warner Bros. has slowly been re-introducing the Looney Tunes back to the public. Soon we will have live-action/CGI films with Bugs Bunny, Pepe le Pew, but the Acme Warehouse? The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Warner Bros. studios purchased the script idea from scriptwriters Kevin and Dan Hageman for six figures. It would be a live-action/CGI film all revolving around the many crazy outlandish devices from the Acme Warehouse sold in the Looney Tunes setting. If you recall, many of the well known devices were used by Wile E. Coyote/Road Runner cartoon shorts. THR claimed it will be similar to “Ambian pics of the 1980s or a ‘Men in Black-style movie.” In addition, the film will not feature any of the Looney Tunes characters. Warner Bros. has bought a Looney Tunes movie pitch from Kevin and Dan Hageman where the story is set in the famous Acme Warehouse, which is were Wile E. Coyote does most of his shopping. THR Reports:

The writers developed the concept with producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee and hope to build a franchise out of the Warner property (the company owns Looney Tunes).
There isn't much more to say about the project because no information on the story or plot has been revealed. I just imagine this will end up being a silly film, that has some potential to be good. Who doesn't like the Looney Tunes?...

"Acme Co." is one of the most famous fictional companies in pop culture history. It is, of course, the business that supplied Wile E. Warner Bros. has purchased a pitch for a film to be set inside the warehouse of Looney Tunes ' Acme corporation, reports Heat Vision . The film, pitched by Kevin and Dan Hageman (who, most recently, were attached to write Warner's Lego film), will focus on the behind-the-scenes working of the imaginary company, famous for its elaborate trap products that Wile E. Coyote repeatedly makes use of to limited success. Though any continuity in Looney Tunes is sketchy at best, the Acme Corporation made a previous live-action appearance in 2003's Looney Tunes: Back in Action where Steve Martin portrayed the conglomerate's corporate head, Mr. Chairman.

The Hollywood Reporter have announced that the upcoming Lego movie project now officially has its directors’ chair filled. Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are currently locked in final negotiations to write and direct the movie for Warner Brothers and producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee. The pair are currently developing the big-screen adaptation of Johnny Depp’s breakout TV vehicle 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill (which Hill had initially somewhat playfully called a “R-rated, insane, Bad Boys-meets-John Hughes-type movie” to be helmed by Rob Zombie). The directing duo will set down the first building blocks after completing on Hill’s 21 Jump Street, and with that project set for release during August of 2011, it looks like 2012 will be the year for Lego to finally hit the big screen.

Um, Ok. Warner Bros is well into development on a planned Lego movie, a family comedy with a mixture of live action and animation that will, we're guessing, involve both real people and short, squarish people with bumps on their heads. The plot remains under wraps, but we're guessing this have more in common with the ace Lego computer games already out there, involving litttle people running about on adventures, and less to do with some dude building a scale replica of Tower Bridge in his garage.Various producers have tried to make a Lego movie for years, but the Danish company has apparently gone for this one since it embraces their core values of "a fun factor, creativity and that imagination has no boundaries" - and it doesn't hurt that the company's worked with Warners before on tie-in lines for Batman, Harry Potter and more.Sherlock Holmes' Dan Lin is producing,...
