Amy Schumer is setting the record straight on those baby bump rumors. After posting some photos to Instagram with the caption, "@leesaevansstyle and I are cookin' somethin' up," fans started to speculate that the comedian is expecting her first child with her husband Chris Fischer. Amy, however, was quick to pump the brakes on the speculation by clarifying, "I am not pregnant." In a video shared to Instagram on Thursday, Schumer sips on a cocktail and explains that she and designer Leesa Evans are actually collaborating on a clothing line "for all sizes and shapes and at a chill price point." She finished, "That's what I was trying to allude to,...

For as much time as celebrities spend with their glam squads, it’s inevitable that they’d become close friends. And Amy Schumer is so tight with her longtime stylist, Leesa Evans, that their work extends well past red carpet styling.
Evans actually helped Schumer find a wedding dress (she picked the first and only dress Schumer tried on!) and Schumer tapped Evans to style her character in the new film, I Feel Pretty. We caught up with Evans to find out all about the process of styling a major movie and what it’s like working with the comedian.

When it comes to Amy Schumer‘s new husband Chris Fischer, one of her favorite qualities about the chef and James Beard Award-winning cookbook author is the fact that he’s out of the spotlight.

What does one wear when getting kidnapped and lost in the Amazon? Snatched is out today, and we're really excited about it for multiple reasons—some obvious and some less obvious. The obvious? It stars Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, and the trailer was hilarious. The less obvious? The movie's costume designer and long-time stylist of Schumer, Leesa Evans, let us in on a couple behind-the-scenes secrets. For those of you unfamiliar, the majority of the movie sets place in South America. Amy plays Emily Middleton, a woman who's dumped by her boyfriend on the eve of their vacation. She then persuades her mother (Goldie)—who's basically her polar opposite—to accompany her on the trip. One...

We’ve all come to know and love Amy Schumer‘s blunt, tell-it-like-it-is attitude. She’s never one to hold back, whether posting a nearly-nude selfie on Instagram or declaring she’s wearing Vivienne Westwood and an O.B. tampon on the Emmys red carpet. And now, the 35-year-old comedian gave her own style straight talk in an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview during an Old Navy shoot.
The star, who’s you’ll see (starting tonight!) starring in Old Navy’s Fight Night-themed Black Friday sale commercial, gave her usual uninhibited real talk when it comes to how she dresses herself on the daily.

15 years before Ghostbusters, there was Elle Woods.
15 years ago, Legally Blonde introduced the world to the physical manifestation of femininity: Elle Woods. She totally embodies the third wave feminist ideals that women can have fun and unashamedly wear pink dresses and nail polish, have great hair, and walk in killer heels and still be taken seriously. Even when Elle suffers humiliation and sadness at the hands of the patriarchy and petty women, she overcomes it in the most feminine way possible: by being her fabulous self and using her vast knowledge of haircare to solve a huge murder trial and jumpstart her law career. Legally Blonde forged the pathway for female lead comedy movies like Bridesmaids, The Heat, Trainwreck, and now even the new Ghostbusters to follow. Legally Blonde told the women in those films that they can proudly be a woman and screw what everyone else expects them to be.

The world has changed since Zoolander helped America laugh again after 9/11. A good deal of its new sequel tries to pan humor out of grappling with this. As the movie begins, protagonist Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller, also co-writer and director) and his rival-turned-bestie Hansel (Owen Wilson) have isolated themselves over the last 14 years due to a tragedy that befell them a mere two days after the first movie left off. But both are drawn back into the high-glamor, low-iq world of male modeling after a series of celebrities are murdered, each one snapping a selfie in which they flash Derek’s signature “Blue Steel” look as they die. With the assistance of new love interest Melanie Valentina (Penelope Cruz), an Interpol Fashion Police agent, the pair seek to unravel the mystery.

Amy Schumer's ditching the jokes to address a serious issue. The comedienne got extremely candid while chatting about her own body image issues with Maria Shriver during a pre-taped interview for "Today" on Friday. The "Inside Amy Schumer" star has teamed up with Goodwill of Southern California to help women feel more comfortable about themselves with fashion. Amy hopes that through her partnership, she'll be able to help women, like herself, feel more confident and empowered with the right clothes. "It's an emotional thing," she told Shriver during their sit-down interview. "It's been a struggle for me my whole life, and especially just being in the entertainment industry. Standing on a stage in front of people, I can't perform my best or be confident if I'm not sure — if I'm pulling at something [I'm wearing]. In case you haven’t gathered from our Jason Segel gushing earlier this week, The Five-Year Engagement has landed pretty high on our list of all-time great romantic comedies. It’s funny, believable and moving without ever feeling too, well, rom-com-ish. Also, it’s really great to look at. Which is why we were thrilled that the movie’s costume designer, Leesa Evans, who was the mastermind behind Bridesmaids’ great looks last year, got on the phone with VH1 Celebrity to chat about her work. She’s a longtime collaborator with director/writer Nick Stoller and writer/star Segel, which means her job is a whole lot more than putting actors in pretty dresses and hip T-shirts.
“During the design process and the fitting process you come up with things that feel right for the characters that weren’t written but add to the development of the character absolutely,” Leesa explained.

Maybe you fell in love with Jason Segel when he was Nick on Freaks and Geeks. Maybe you found him as Alyson Hannigan’s other half on How I Met Your Mother. Perhaps it took his perfect bromance with our other true love Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man. The Muppets might have been your thing, or his side-clutching “Kemper-pedic” mattress ad on SNL. Seriously, if none of those won you over, you have a cold, dead heart — and you are probably the studio head who told him to lose 35 lbs for The Five-Year Engagement.
We have our own theories about why we love the 32-year-old actor/writer/producer/composer/puppeteer. What we really wanted to do was get a second opinion on whether Jason Segel the man is as dreamy as all of his characters. And since Michelle Williams was busy, we spoke to Leesa Evans, his personal...

We are just under a week away from the Orange BAFTA Film Awards so now seems an appropriate time to consider who might win the prize for Best Costume Design (it will be a period drama) and why (because all the nominations are). We should again clarify that Clothes on Film enjoy period and fantasy costume just as much as contemporary, But we do consider it a shame that the latter category is often overlooked by simple virtue of being too good to be seen.
If you have been taking advantage of Orange Wednesdays (and who doesn’t?), i.e. texting Film to 241 from any Orange mobile to get two-for-one cinema tickets, you will hopefully have seen most, if not all of these BAFTA costume design...

It’s been all go with award nomination announcements for costume design over the past two weeks. Here is our round-up of the big three: BAFTA, Cdg and Oscar.
First up the BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television Arts) Film Awards:
The Artist – Mark Bridges
Hugo – Sandy Powell
Jane Eyre – Michael O’Connor
My Week with Marilyn – Jill Taylor
Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy – Jacqueline Durran
Perhaps the most surprising nomination, even though it shouldn’t be, is Jacqueline Durran for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Overruling the costumers’ chapter vote for Anonymous (Lisy Christl), general voters chose Tinker, Tailor instead – and with good reason. Critic Guy Lodge goes into detail about the film’s costumes in this article, so we’ll not tread on his toes. One...

The Costume Design Guild has spoken! As with all guild awards... it's a combination of "Really?" and interesting "Oh, yeah!" choices.
Clothes Horse Royals in "W.E." via Arianne Phillips
Period Films
Mark Bridges for The Artist
Michael O'Connor for Jane Eyre
Sharen Davis for The Help
Sandy Powell for Hugo
Arianne Phillips for W.E.
Good news: I have an interview coming up with Arianne Phillips, who is one of my heroes. And not just because she's worked with Madonna for 15 years or so.
Notable Omissions: Anonymous, Captain America (unless they considered it a fantasy), My Week With Marilyn, A Dangerous Method, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Oscar transferrence? The costume designers within the Academy, a much smaller number than votes on the guild awards, tend to prefer period work to other types of work so you could theoretically see all of these nominees repeat at Oscar, though Phillips is certainly...

A diverse group of films including The Artist, Bridesmaids, and Thor have been nominated for the 14th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. The Guild nominated feature films in three different categories. For excellence in contemporary films, the nominees are Bridesmaids, with costumes by Leesa Evans and Christine Wada; The Descendants, Wendy Chuck; Drive, Erin Benach; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Trish Summerville; and Melancholia, Manon Rasmussen. Photos: Golden Globes' Red Carpet Arrivals Sandy Powell, who received the Cds’s Career Achievement Award in 2010, was nominated this year in the period film category for Hugo. That category also includes The

As the final guilds begin weighing in before Tuesday's Oscar nominations are announced, the Costume Designers Guild (Cdg) has announced their nominees in three motion picture categories and the only film among my current predictions in the category not included is Sonia Grande for Midnight in Paris. Looking over the last couple years of nominations from the Cdg it looks as if the last three years have always delivered one film that ended up nominated for an Oscar that was not nominated by the Cdg. Could Midnight in Paris be that one? I do have Arianne Phillips just below the bubble line for her work on W.E. as well as Sharen Davis for her work on The Help. As a result of these nominations and just the shift I feel in the winds, I have updated my predictions for Best Costume ever so slightly, which is to say Jane Eyre...

Exclusive to Clothes on Film, Leesa Evans explains the tricky art of dressing six very different comic characters in Bridesmaids, i.e not overselling the humour.
Leaning primarily to comedy, Leesa Evans has been lead costume designer on over twenty films, including American Pie (1999) and Josie and the Pussycats (2001). She has also worked with producer Judd Apatow several times, e.g. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Get Him to the Greek (2010) and now Bridesmaids (2011, directed by Paul Feig). “I have a great working relationship with Judd Apatow,” Evans confirms “When he asked me to design the film I was thrilled to do it”.
Crammed with about as much riotous cringe humour as anyone could take, Bridesmaids centres on lovesick and near penniless Annie (Kristen Wiig), maid of honour to lifelong best friend...
