In episode 5, Charlotte (Rose Williams) and Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes) race to find Augusta before she ends up married to a man they suspect is only after her fortune. But do they catch up with the couple in time?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has cast an ex-Game of Thrones star, months after another big GoT name dropped out.
It was announced on Monday (20 March) that three new actors will appear in the forthcoming season.
These include Rory Kinnear, Tanya Moodie and Irish actor Ciarán Hinds, who appeared in HBO series Thrones as Mance Rayder as well as the cable channel’s Rome, playing Julius Caesar.
His casting comes after Joseph Mawle, who played Benjen Stark in Thrones, quit the role of Adar following the conclusion of season one.
Mawle made his debut as the orc leader when the show, based on the work of Jrr Tolkien, was released on Prime Video in September.
He took centre stage as the series progressed, and by the end of the season, is shown to become “king of the Southlands” before changing the location’s name to...

In recent weeks Amazon has released a flurry of casting news for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” season two. We have names of 15 actors who will join the Middle Earth cast: Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, Nicholas Woodeson, Sam Hazeldine, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo, and Calam Lynch. But details about their roles are scarce.
The only specific character information that accompanied the casting updates was the shocking news that Hazeldine (“Peaky Blinders”) will be taking over the role of orc-daddy Adar from Joseph Mawle. With showrunner Patrick McKay previously teasing elder elf (and ring bearer) Cirdan the Shipwright arriving next season, that still leaves 13 new roles shrouded in mystery.
Given the plot trajectory of season one and a hefty knowledge of J.R.R. Tolkien’s lore, here are the five...

Like information offered by the elves, Prime Video is drip-feeding the information on the new faces who will be joining Morfydd Clark,
Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers and the rest in the new season of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power. On the heels of last week's announcement, here's the latest news: Kevin Eldon, Calam Lynch, Selina Lo, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb and Will Keen are all in the show.
Of course, in keeping with the news so far, we have zero information on who the newcomers will be playing, so start your own guessing now. Though if we're honestly, we're hoping Eldon shows up as this guy.
The team behind The Rings Of Power is busily filming season 2 now, and that should be on our screens in 2024.

Do you know what's the only quest tougher than Frodo traveling all that way to cast the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom? Warning: this Trigger Point review contains spoilers.
Who is Lana Washington? Yeah, yeah, she defuses bombs, her partner exploded, she gets hot in a heatwave and has a little ponytail, but who is she? After episode one’s series of entertainingly tense set pieces, now’s the time for Trigger Point to deliver on character. Instead, episode two played it coy, adding only ‘does Sudoku’ and ‘has parents’ to the sum total of our knowledge about our lead. Somewhere in the rank depths of the internet, there’s a market for footage of Vicky McClure wordlessly putting on and then taking off a helmet, but prime time ITV1 isn’t it.
McClure’s not at fault here; the writing lets her down either by stretching too little plot over too much time or by simply failing to ignite. Lines like: “Listen Tom, I’m not a detective. I’ll happily...

Contains spoilers for the Taskmaster series 11 finale
The suit. The ‘tache. The smile. The preternatural speed with which he’s able to snatch a marshmallow from an opponent using a pair of kitchen tongs. There’s a great deal to admire about Taskmaster series 11 contestant Mike Wozniak, so admire him we will. Right here. Starting now. Tick tock: it’s Wozniak o’clock.
Who is Mike Wozniak?
He’s an absolute bloody milk guzzler, that’s who.
Like Harry Hill, Graham Chapman, Graeme Garden and Paul Sinha before him, Mike Wozniak trained and worked as a doctor before becoming a stand-up. Healthcare’s loss was comedy’s gain. His 2013 Edinburgh Fringe show, in which Wozniak played an outmoded light entertainer, received a Best Comedy Show nomination.

“England can be an unforgiving place if you happen to be German”
England, 1939.
17 days before the start of World War 2, English teacher Wheatley (Nigel Lindsay) goes missing from The Augusta-Victoria College for Girls in Bexley-on-Sea, the boarding school famous for housing the daughters and goddaughters of Nazi High Command. 6 days later Thomas Miller (Eddie Izzard) secures a job replacing Wheatley and from then on, tries to secretly find out what exactly happened. Inspired by true events, Six Minutes to Midnight is a period thriller written by Eddie Izzard, director Andy Goddard and co-writer Celyn Jones.
The film starts off strong, with fast-paced, intense scenes from Lindsey and Izzard. It’s accompanied by German composer Marc Streitenfeld’s beautiful score which is a delight to listen to throughout the film. This makes for a great start to the film, with an intriguing mystery to look forward to…or so you would hope.

When most of us love something – a film, a band, a football team – we express that love by wearing the t-shirt or getting a tattoo. When Nick Frost, Simon Pegg and their mates love something, they express it by making a feature film trilogy. Or a cult 90s TV series. Or eight-part comedy-horror Truth Seekers.
Truth Seekers, co-created by Frost, Pegg, Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz, is the product of fandom. It’s a bundle of admiration for horror in all guises, from the shonky DIY of Most Haunted to cultivated glitch and found-footage movie scares, to the recently revived anthology tradition. It has a go at recreating it all, tipping its hat so often that it can’t quite juggle the rest of its ambitions because its hand is already too full of hat.

Point Blank
Stars: Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Marcia Gay Harden, Stuart F. Wilson, Buster Reeves, Christian Cooke, Teyonah Parris, Boris McGiver, Reggie Willis, Shanessa Sweeney, Nik Pajic, Markice Moore | Written by Adam G. Simon | Directed by Joe Lynch
Point Blank, directed by Joe Lynch, is a remake of Fred Cavayé’s À bout portant, which was originally released in 2010. The film stars two actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Frank Grillo and Anthony Mackie as Abe and Paul, respectively. Paul has to break Abe out of custody in a hospital as his brother has taken Paul’s pregnant wife hostage. What commences is an unorthodox buddy-action comedy, in what is sadly yet another dull and tedious action-adventure.
It is hard to watch Point Blank and not debate why this was made, or even distributed by Netflix. Everything from its plot, actors and actress, or even filmmaking evokes a sense of direct-to-dvd nature.

Netflix will be bringing Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone series to television with Bird Box writer Eric Heisserer as showrunner.
In its ongoing bid for total media domination, Netflix is turning to one of the oldest kinds of media: books.
The streaming giant announced today that it would be adapting the Grisha fantasy trilogy. The Grisha trilogy comes from American author Leigh Bardugo and is made up of the novels Shadow and Bone (2012), Siege and Storm (2013), and Ruin and Rising (2014). Another novel, Six of Crows was released in 2015 and is set in the "Grisha-verse." Netflix specifically mentioned Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows in their announcement as the books being adapted.
Shadow and Bone will be eight episodes and Netflix has brought out their creative big guns for it. Eric Heisserer (the writer of Netflix's uber hit Bird Box) will produce the series and serve as showrunner.

There’s a Fjord Focus in this week’s close-knit, topsy-turvy Doctor Who.
This Doctor Who review contains spoilers.
Doctor Who Season 11 Episode 9
The rise of ‘Scandinavian Horror’ and the tropes it represents as a genre might seem like fertile ground for Doctor Who, a series that has mixed and matched eldritch creatures with alien invasions for the last half-century or so. It would hardly be the first time the show’s dabbled in particular styles of cinematography and tone, after all. We’ve had everything from found footage to game shows. We’ve even had Time and The Rani. As such, the prospect of an episode that really embraced that style of filmmaking and gave it a uniquely Time Lord spin was really rather tantalising, and one the promotional materials took pains to promote.

While some have lapped up the stripped-back, easily-accessible approach to storytelling that season 11 has taken, other Doctor Who fans have been craving something a little bolder in the ideas department for the past couple of months. Well, “It Takes You Away” – the penultimate episode of the season – is definitely more high-concept that what we’ve seen so far. However, it might be an example of be careful what you wish for, as it’s probably going to put some people off with its weirdness.
From the promotion of the episode, it looked like “It Takes You Away” was going to be a fairly slight story – a nice bit of creepy Nordic noir with a monster in the woods and a young kid to save. In reality, though, only the first ten minutes fit this description. From there on in, rookie Doctor Who writer Ed Hime’s script swerves into a...

It really doesn’t feel like that long ago that we were eagerly awaiting the debut of Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor and now we’re almost at the end of her first season in the Tardis.
Yes, believe it or not, Doctor Who season 11 reaches its ninth and penultimate installment this week with “It Takes You Away,” which looks to be a creepy one set in the Norwegian countryside. The episode’s written by Ed Hime, a newcomer to the Doctor Who universe, and directed by Jamie Childs, a Who pro, who’s already helmed two episodes this season and will also handle the finale.
Guest stars include Ellie Wallwork and Kevin Eldon and the synopsis – seen below – teases that this week’s mystery centers on a derelict cottage, a girl in need and a monster in the woods.

The Last Kingdom Season 3 Episode 5
While not greatly exaggerated—it’s only a matter of time, after all—episode five’s reports of Alfred’s death were premature. The King was still drawing breath by the thrilling cliff-hanger, even if every breath and sword-aloft “For Wessex!” were agony to him.
Despite his pain, Alfred soldiered on, literally. He mounted his horse and led his men into a battle he used as an object lesson in royal responsibility for son Edward.
What should Edward do? Allow Wessex’s enemies to destroy each other and preserve his men, or hold true to his word and help Uhtred? As Alfred showed in his deliberation over rescuing...

We’ve got a fun exclusive for you today, which also serves as notice of an impending British film which may get lost in the summer blockbuster scrum. Jason Wingard’s Eaten by Lions is one of this year’s world premieres at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and we’ve got the first look at the film’s poster.
The cast includes Antonio Aakeel (recently seen with Alicia Vikander’s Lara Croft in Tomb Raider), BAFTA & Emmy award-winning Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing), Vicki Pepperdine, Jack Carroll and the double whammy of comic actors Johnny Vegas and Kevin Eldon. The heart-warming story of half-brothers raised by an elderly relative following the titular orphaning, the film follows Aakeel and Carroll’s characters as they search for their surviving relatives. A woman who has a funny bone for a backbone. Entertainment One UK has debuted an official trailer for the indie comedy Funny Cow, starring English actress Maxine Peake as a comedienne in the 70s making her mark on the male-dominated stand up scene. Peake recently starred in the black-and-white "Metalhead" episode of Netflix's "Black Mirror", which is where some people might recognize her from, even though she has been in many films before this. Set against the backdrop of the 70s/80s comedy club circuit in Northern England, Funny Cow stars Peake as fictional comedienne "Funny Cow", trying making a name for herself in the stand up world. The full cast includes Paddy Considine, Christine Bottomley, Stephen Graham, Alun Armstrong, Tony Pitts, Hannah Walters, and Kevin Eldon. This film actually looks quite good. Here's the first international trailer (+ poster) for Adrian Shergold's Funny Cow, direct from YouTube...

In series one’s The Understudy, Inside No. 9 gave us an updated take on Macbeth. Here, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton put their own twist on Shakespearean comedy with an episode set entirely in a hotel corridor and written entirely in iambic pentameter, the clever sods. Regular brilliance clearly wasn’t presenting these two enough of a challenge.
It’s a challenge they pull off with relish. The writing’s smart and self-aware (“Like this iambic foot, I’m stressed, you’re not”) while the gags are a bawdy delight. Shakespeare never rhymed ‘bum’ with ‘Magnus Magnusson’, but you know he would have done,...
