Here’s something I thought I’d never say: what ever happened to that Agent Grant Ward? Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s man of action was as bland as Melba toast, that is until it suddenly turned out that he was Hydra-ish affiliated, an apprentice of the evil John Garrett. Then, all of the sudden, Ward was complex and driven. He was a character we wanted to learn more about because it turned out there was more to learn. And then he started out the second season as a kind of hunky Hannibal but with less eating people, gently telling S.H.I.E.L.D. everything they wanted to know about Hydra, but not everything he knew. But after being shot by Skye and left for dead in Puerto Rico, it’s time to ask the question, what the heck happened to Ward?

While Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still months away from its already highly anticipated mid-season premiere in March of 2015, it’s not stopping us from reporting all the latest news we can get about the show while we wait. Today we may have something very exciting to look forward to. One of the characters that had a large presence last season and had a huge fan following was the character of Mike Peterson a.k.a. Deathlok, played by the marvelously talented J. August Richards who is most-known for his role Gunn Charles on the Joss Whedon drama Angel, the spin-off show of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The last time we saw him on the show was in the season one finale, where he told Skye (now also known as Daisy) that he had to go into hiding after he was controlled by John Garrett (Bill Paxton) and Hydra.

While Agent Grant Ward has only appeared briefly in the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., new casting indicates audiences haven’t seen the last of the S.H.I.E.L.D.-turned-Hydra agent. In fact, the show will be offering more insight into Ward’s troubled family history later this season.
White Collar star Tim DeKay has been cast as Ward’s brother, Senator Christian Ward, EW has confirmed. He will make an appearance in the sixth episode this season, titled “A Fractured House.” Zap2It first reported the news.

We're going to learn a lot more about Grant Ward in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. very soon as Zap2it have revealed that his abusive older brother will be played by Tim DeKay in episode six, "A Fractured Rose". The White Collar has been cast as Senator Maynard Ward, and the site speculate that this is possibly the man General Glenn Talbot made reference to in the most recent episode when he talked about a "senator with deep pockets". Based on Ward's stories about his older brother, it's hard to imagine him being particularly nice guy. In fact, it was Maynard who bullied Grant to the point that he would burn down the family home and ultimately end up in Hydra's clutches when John Garrett recruited him to the villainous agency from a juvenile detention facility. What do you guys think about this latest addition to the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?...

In the weeks leading up to its series premiere last season, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was relentlessly hyped as one of the year's biggest TV events — but its first season was actually pretty small in scope. The series took its time introducing us to its six main characters, which meant padding out the rest of the show's world with cameos, extras, and villains of the week. When combined with the stifling quarters of the Quinjet, our heroes often felt bizarrely removed from the world they were supposed to be protecting, and while characters like John Garrett, Antoine Triplett, and Victoria Hand eventually provided a belated corrective, it was obvious that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was going to need to find a more permanent solution as it looked to the future.Enter Lance Hunter, who entered Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season on a Trojan horse named Lucy Lawless. (Cbr) The slogan "Trust No One" applies to more than just "The X-Files." In season one of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," the team was blindsided and betrayed by their teammate Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), as well as long-time agent and main character Phil Coulson's (Clark Gregg) friend, John Garrett (Bill Paxton). Both secretly served Hydra and were instrumental in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s dismantling. Now, to rebuild the organization and to continue to confront major threats, Coulson -- now director of the new S.H.I.E.L.D. -- has added to his ranks. One new recruit is Isabelle Hartley (Lucy Lawless), a mercenary agent who has a history with Coulson. Seen most recently as Ron Swanson's love interest in "Parks and Recreation," Lawless has an especially storied career in genre television, including her starring role as "Xena: Warrior Princess," plus the acclaimed "Battlestar Galactica" revival and multiple "Spartacus" series.

The first season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended with quite the twist as Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) was shown carving strange symbols into a wall meaning he may have been significantly affected by the alien blood that helped bring him back to the land of the living. The new billboard, which you can see below, shows Coulson with a much more complete drawing. We saw what the unnamed alien blood did to Agent John Garrett (Bill Paxton), what do you guys think it'll do to Coulson? Sound off with your thoughts below! Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films, as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has completed its last mission: delivering a passable season finale. Despite its ominous title, last night's "Beginning of the End" plays it pretty safe: The good guys survive, the bad guys go down, and the only character who dies is John Garrett, played by the splashy (and presumably expensive) guest star Bill Paxton. Take out Fitz's debilitating injuries, and this is basically a Wayne's World–style "mega-happy ending"; we even get Patton Oswalt back, playing Eric Koenig's identical twin/clone/Life Model Decoy Billy Koenig."Beginning of the End" begins by dispensing with last week's cliff-hanger in about 90 seconds. (It's a good thing May brought that berserker staff, and the Hydra's soldiers are content to stand around while she brings the roof down on them.) From there, the episode gets down to business as Coulson and Garrett assemble their teams for a final battle. This is...

When Bill Paxton appeared on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Coulson’s old friend and Ward’s original S.O., I immediately mentioned that I hoped he would find a way to recur regularly. Thankfully, the showrunners seemed to share my sentiment, allowing Paxton to fold into the cast for the last third of the season not only as the “Big Bad” but also as someone with prominent ties to the show’s most significant plot lines.

I wasn't exactly surprised when "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." sprung the big reveal last month that Bill Paxton's John Garrett turned out to be evil. I mean... He's Bill Paxton. It's not that Bill Paxton is constantly playing evil characters or anything, but if you bring in an actor with Paxton's pedigree -- Four Golden Globe nominations, an Emmy nod and the credibility that comes from "Aliens," "Near Dark," etc -- you're not bringing him in to play the boring straight-arrow authority figure. So it was almost a relief when Garrett turned sneering villain and then it was genuinely interesting when, in last week's episode, the frequently rushed "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." took the time to do a flashback-heavy episode explained both Garrett's Hydra-loving origins and the conditions that might also have turned Brett Dalton's Ward. When last we saw Garrett, we had discovered...

Coulson and his team infiltrate Cybertek in an effort to stop Garrett, but their enemy remains one step ahead of them.
Previously on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Grant Ward turned out to be a sociopathic murderer who went and killed a number of agents. And then he kidnapped Skye in an effort to get information his mentor, John Garrett, desperately wanted. She gave up the information, but only after Deathlok threatened to kill Ward if she didn’t. And S.H.I.E.L.D. lies in ruins and Phil Coulson and his teams struggle on in the aftermath.
This episode kicks off with a flashback to fifteen years ago. Ward was in juvenile detention for setting his house on fire. Garrett finds him and offers him a choice between a really tough life and jail and he doesn’t give Ward really any time to think about it.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has thrown viewers some pretty big head-spinning twists and turns lately — and while team bonds have fallen apart and traitors have come forward, we’ve seen it all reflected in the glue that holds everyone together: Agent Phil Coulson. It’s been an emotional few weeks watching Coulson come to terms with the fact that S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as his trust, has been compromised. But last week’s episode seemed to indicate a turning point…so are we finally going to get to see Coulson fight back for an organization that he still believes in?...

Ever since his character was expanded upon after his first appearance in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Bill Paxton's John Garrett has become a fan favorite recurring character for many people. While some fans may know him as the character introduced in Frank Miller/Bill Sienkiewicz 1986 miniseries Elektra: Assassin, it wasn't really until he was introduced in the fourteenth episode that fans learned who this guy is. But the fact that he is played by the talented Bill Paxton is enough to get into the character for reasons other than being a character from the comics. At this week's WonderCon, the actor was asked a few questions about the show. Mainly, he was asked if the character and his story became much bigger than he expected, because everyone who saw the recent episodes of the show will know that is role is indeed much bigger than most/all of us expected.

It was going to be difficult for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to top last week's "Turn, Turn, Turn," which ended with S.H.I.E.L.D. in tatters and the revelation that one of our heroes had been a villain all along. That's the kind of glacial shift that necessitates a breather, so it's not quite a criticism when I say that tonight's middle-of-the-road "Providence" felt like the transitional episode it was — a comedown from the twisty events of last week's episode, and a table-setter for next week's promising-looking "The Only Light in the Darkness.""Providence" splits its time almost evenly between our heroes and our villains, who have vastly different experiences at two distinct top-secret S.H.I.E.L.D. bases. The newly released John Garrett — better known to his more gullible henchmen as "The Clairvoyant" — is free to launch the next phase of his plan: infiltrating a S.

Episode 13, “T.R.A.C.K.S.”, ended on a cliffhanger with Skye, shot twice in the abdomen by Quinn, getting rushed to Shield for medical attention. “T.A.H.I.T.I.” picks up right where “T.R.A.C.K.S.” left off, and Coulson’s team is faced with a moral dilemma. They can try to save Skye with the same techniques Director Fury’s team used to bring Coulson back to life, but by saving her life, they could cause her immense pain and make her wish she had died instead.
As the team dives deeper into the secrets of Shield, their plan to save Skye is further complicated by Quinn and Shield Agent John Garrett, played by Bill Paxton. Garrett wants revenge on Quinn and demands Coulson turn him over,...

It feels like forever since we last saw Coulson and his merry Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., decidedly less merry since Skye was shot –this is where you say, “oh Yeah, I forgot about that!” Yes, it has been a long time. A month, which equals “feels like ages” in fan years.
The return of the series will also mark the beginning of Bill Paxton‘s tour of duty with the gang, as you’ll see in the clip below.
Also new to the team will be Agent Triplett, played by B.J. Britt:

In a recent interview with Mega Buzz Brett Dalton (Agent Grant Ward) Shared some relatively good info On Paxton's character, Josh Garrett: "John Garrett is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who, like Coulson, was trained by Nick Fury. But he also has history with Ward, whom he actually trained before Ward joined Coulson's team. 'Coulson makes decisions based on instincts and intuition,' Brett Dalton says. 'Ward is more about risk assessment and tactical skills. That's all that he's known until joining Coulson's team. [Garrett is] the guy who trained Ward, so he's a reflection of him in a lot of ways.'" Could we see tension rise between Garrett and Coulson? Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or simply Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., is an American television series created for ABC by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t quite lived up to its lofty expectations, but there’s still time for the series to turn itself around and truly make a name for itself. Part of it has to do with fully embracing its comic book roots and distancing itself from the boring, seen-it-already aspects of its procedural format. Part of the problem lies in the hands of the writers, who seem to be afraid to pull the trigger on some of the more insane aspects of a comic book adaptation. Take, for instance, the recent casting of Bill Paxton. Paxton is a great actor who could bring a lot to Shield, but if the character wants to stand out then there needs to be a greater commitment to the source material.

Aliens and Edge of Tomorrow actor Bill Paxton is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as John Garrett, an agent who was given cybernetic enhancements to safe his life after a battle with Elektra. Below, you’ll find a first look at Paxton in the series, although it’s unknown how similar he’ll be to his comic book counterpart.
Meanwhile, we also have a promo for the next episode of the ABC series (which airs on February 4th), and in it you’ll see a cameo from the man who created/co-created the majority of Marvel’s comic book characters, Stan “The Man” Lee! Even those of you who don’t read comic books will more than likely recognise the legendary personality from his brief – yet extremely memorable – appearances in everything from The Amazing Spider-Man to The Avengers.
There’s currently no word on when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return...
