Everyone has a Childhood Hero they remember wanting to be just like! For me it was Xena! I started watching this show when I was 8 years old and I became completely hooked! Seeing this Woman showing such strength and soul at the same time was truly what made me want Xena the Warrior Princess my childhood Hero. I had never known any other female characters that had such authority when all I had been raise on were Disney coupled with a Julie Andrews Mother! Xena was a breath of fresh air and opened my eyes to a woman being in control and being able to put up a fight and to actually have real emotions of terrible lows and hysterical ups.
This is one show that needs to be recognised for the fact that it was the leader in contemporary female heroes. It has lead the way for other great shows with strong female leads.
Xena: Warrior Princess is my Hero still today, and I endeavor to be like her in the fact that she fights for what she believes in, takes care of her friends and has an open mind to all possibilities. This show has taught me how to be a woman in the MODERN world even tho it has been set in the ancient world.
Like I said before Everyone has had a childhood hero that they admired, but I go as far to say that you can be just like them in their strengths and also they weakness and overcome all obstacles that lye ahead in the faith and courage you have within yourself.
