Over the past few years, no show has been able to attract as many loyal viewers as Yellowstone. Fans of the Western genre have been happy to see the show go mainstream and continue to succeed with each new spin-off that Taylor Sheridan has created. At this point, Yellowstone is more than just a show, it is a brand.
To say that people were devastated to see the show go off the air due to a scheduling conflict with its star, Kevin Costner, would be an understatement. However, the prospect of getting another spin-off to continue the story has since calmed the majority of fans.
Especially now that the creators are teasing new beginnings for some of the familiar characters.

Like many of you, I was scratching my head when I learned that director Renny Harlin would be making not one, not two, but three movies based on the horror cult classic The Strangers. While a pretty slick horror flick, the original spawned a modest follow-up that didn’t get a ton of buzz. When it came out, I figured it was a series that had run its course. It seems this is not so, with Lionsgate releasing a widely ambitious trilogy of horror films this year (it’s like the horror version of Kevin Costner’s Horizon).
Notably, it marks the return of director Renny Harlin to the horror genre. Now mostly known for his action films, such as the classics Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and many more – horror was where he made his original reputation. Prison, which gave Viggo Mortensen his first leading role,...

In horror, bodies are usually split into parts, not the movies themselves.
Lots of slasher icons are revived for sequel upon sequel over the years but very few franchises — in any genre — have released a trilogy of movies within one year. Lionsgate’s “The Strangers” is breaking down the door in an ambitious, three-chapter strategy to give horror fans a never-before-seen horror “odyssey.”
This isn’t the first time “The Strangers” has come sneaking into theaters. The original 2008 film, inspired by real-life break-ins and the Charles Manson murders, starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as a not-so-happy couple who get an unwelcome knock at their door in the middle of the night. They turn away a creepy woman asking “Is Tamara home?” but are soon plagued by masked, knife-wielding home invaders. The movie became a sleeper hit, making $82 million off a $9 million budget, and 10 years it later spawned a sequel,...

Before he made the disastrous Batman & Robin, Joel Schumacher helmed the summer blockbuster film A Time to Kill starring Matthew McConaughey. The Interstellar actor was still a newcomer at the time, only having the cult film Dazed and Confused popularly in his portfolio. He was cast in the role after Schumacher pulled some strings, but two other famous stars were rejected before McConaughey’s casting.

Kevin Costner was a contender for the role and a much older actor than McConaughey. Costner was rejected because the film needed someone younger to play the up-and-coming lawyer. Interestingly, McConaughey is rumored to appear as the next big star in the Yellowstone franchise after Costner.

The romance of fan favorites Beth and Rip could continue beyond Yellowstone, actor Cole Hauser hints.
The final episodes of the Paramount Network hit are set to begin production sometime this year. But Hauser suggests the characters played by himself and Kelly Reilly might have a future beyond the show’s fifth season closer — presumably, in Paramount+’s planned Yellowstone spinoff 2024 (working title).
“I’m so focused on finishing Yellowstone the way it needs to be finished right now — well, just the show itself,” Hauser recently told Country Living. “We’ll see where that leads. But I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself, and some of the other cast. I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that. But right now it’s just: Let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.

After Harrison Ford’s high praise for his 1923 creator Taylor Sheridan, another star from the series explains why Sheridan is a unique creator in all senses. Brandon Sklenar called the Yellowstone spinoff a once-in-a-lifetime experience and shared that no grand-scale film could match up to Sheridan’s series. Sklenar plays Spencer Dutton, the nephew of Ford’s character Jacob Dutton and the son of James Dutton, played by Tim McGraw in 1883.

Yellowstone star Kevin Costner has said he would consider working with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, again despite reports of conflict. The Emmy-winning actor recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his latest film, Horizon: An American Saga, where he shared an update on his relationship with Sheridan. “No, we haven’t [talked],” Costner said, referencing his involvement in Yellowstone‘s final episodes. Costner, who played the lead role of John Dutton on the hit neo-Western drama, previously left the series amid a rumored falling out with Sheridan over salary and scheduling. The two-time Oscar winner’s four-part film series, Horizon: An American Saga, was said to be a major sticking point. Back in March, it was reported that Costner wanted back in for the final season, even if only in a cameo role. However, Puck‘s Matthew Belloni claimed “no discussions” had taken place about the actor’s return, as...

As Yellowstone trots towards its final episodes, there is still a ranch full of unanswered questions. Near the top of that list is, Will Kevin Costner be returning? Well, it turns out that Costner has yet to have even a phone conversation with creator Taylor Sheridan over the future of John Dutton on Yellowstone. But that doesn’t quite rule out a role for him on the western series — or a spot in one of Sheridan’s future projects.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Costner spoke positively of the work ethic of and his standing with Taylor Sheridan, saying, “He’s doing special work in a lot of different ways. He’s very prolific about the things he does, and if he sees me in something that he wants to do, I’ll look at it just the way I did Yellowstone and maybe we will end up doing something together.

Taylor Sheridan is one of those masterminds of masterminds, wracking his brain down to the core to find out the next best storyline for his Yellowstone universe and all the spin-offs attached to it. Not only has he delivered some of the most epic tales through all of his projects, but he has also set multiple records and won many star-studded accolades for the same.

A French collective representing the interests of French film festival workers has called for a general strike of “all employees of the Cannes Film Festival and of its sidebars.”
The Sous les écrans la dèche (Broke Behind the Screens) collective made the call in a public statement Monday.
The group has long been sounding the alarm about the precarious nature of film festival work, which typically involves short-term freelance contracts. But unlike other so-called intermediate workers in the entertainment industry, many festival workers are not covered by France’s unemployment insurance program, meaning they do not qualify for unemployment benefits in between jobs or projects.
The Sous les écrans noted that the latest set of benefit reforms, set to go through July 1, will further tighten the rules for employees.

With the release of The Fall Guy this weekend, the summer movie season is finally upon us. While it’s a thinner summer than usual due to the dual writer and actors strike bringing movies to a standstill for much of 2023, there should still be a lot of stuff worth checking out, even if the summer seems short of anything that can aspire to Barbenheimer levels of success. Yesterday, we teased some of our most anticipated horror movies, so now we’re tackling the rest of the blockbusters in our 2024 summer movie preview!

The Golden Raspberry is one of the most important industry anti-prizes. Every year, the worst movies of the season are nominated for it: from failed blockbusters to dramas that look more like comedies. But often the winners are simply misunderstood masterpieces.
Some of these underrated films were chosen by Reddit users.
1. The Blair Witch Project, 1999
Can you believe it? The movie that changed the horror industry was nominated for the Golden Raspberry Anti-Award in the category Worst Picture. Maybe, from a certain point of view, even this kind of PR benefits the movie, but to be honest, The Blair Witch Project had no chance to "win" that year – it was up against Adam Sandler's Big Daddy, The Haunting, and Will Smith's Wild Wild West.
2. The Bodyguard, 1992

It appears that Harrison Ford built his career upon roles that were passed on by other famous actors. Be it his breakout role as Han Solo or his adventurous hero role in Indiana Jones, Ford was not the first choice for these roles. Interestingly, he was also not the first choice for another action role that the audiences loved him for. Ford’s role as President Marshall in Air Force One was initially offered to Kevin Costner.

Following the resounding success of the Yellowstone prequel 1883, creator Taylor Sheridan delved even deeper into the Dutton family history and launched 1923. In an interview, Sheridan shed light on an intriguing aspect of the prequel. He revealed that during the development of 1883, Paramount expressed interest in a storyline that he personally didn’t feel was appropriate just to milk it even more.

Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone future remains uncertain; however, he recently stated he’s open-minded when it relates to working with the creator of the show, Taylor Sheridan, again.
The buzz of Kevin’s Yellowstone exit first hit in May 2023, which built until the climax of it all hit in November of last year. Following an intense cliffhanger during the show’s Season 5, Part 1, the absence of Costner creates a major challenge for Yellowstone’s creative team.

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone was met with mixed reviews upon its premiere but the show went on to age like fine wine with its subsequent seasons. The neo-western series also got itself two prequel series, 1883 and 1923. Soon, fans will get to see two more spin-offs – 6666 and 1944 – which have already been confirmed by Paramount. Clearly, Taylor Sheridan is not coming in slow.

One of the most popular fictional characters of all time, Robin Hood, has been at the center of numerous adaptations. From the early days when Errol Flynn played the legendary outlaw to modern adaptations starring big names such as Sean Connery or Kevin Costner (there is even an animated adaptation by Disney), Robin Hood has been an inspiration for filmmakers and it seems that a new movie that will tackle the story is going to be released relatively soon. The Death of Robin Hood will start production next year and will tell the story of an older, guilt-ridden Robin Hood, and as we know now, Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer have signed on to star in the movie.
Not much is known about the project, as there is still a long way to go until filming starts, but the film is in the pre-production phase now, and we do have...

Kevin Costner was a big part of what made Yellowstone such a successful show. Following his exit from the hit western, Costner recently opened up about whether or not he would ever consider working with Taylor Sheridan again. So, what did the veteran actor have to say?
Yellowstone: Kevin Costner Played The Role Of John Dutton To Perfection
Kevin Costner in a Western drama has always made sense. Whether it was alongside Robert Duvall in 2003’s Open Range or opposite Bill Paxton in the Hatfields & McCoys miniseries in 2012, many fans agree that Kevin Costner is at his best as an actor when he has a cowboy hat and a gun.
Naturally, when it was first announced that Costner would play family patriarch John Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, it was a match made in cinema heaven. This is the kind of role that Costner was born to play,...

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe has continued to expand with several spin-offs, including 1923, starring Harrison Ford in the lead role. Ford has been a longtime acquaintance of Yellowstone star Kevin Costner. However, Ford did not reach out to him before onboarding the hit Western drama television franchise.
Harrison Ford did not speak with Kevin Costner before taking on his 1923 role.
In an interview, Ford revealed why he chose not to speak with Costner about his involvement in a Yellowstone spin-off. Moreover, Ford’s reasoning had nothing to do with the alleged feud between Costner and Sheridan that has been discussed among fans in the recent past. Here is why Harrison Ford did not seek Kevin Costner’s advice for his Yellowstone spin-off.

It might feel like we just rang in the new year last week, but believe it or not, summer is already here -- at the movies, anyway.
With the release of the Ryan Gosling-Emily Blunt action-romcom The Fall Guy, Hollywood's most lucrative season has officially arrived.
But the calendar is light on sure bets this year, and that's mostly because of recent box office trends that have left studio execs in a very uncertain position.
As you probably recall, Barbie and Oppenheimer were the summer box office success stories of 2023.
In retrospect, it seems like a foregone conclusion that two films that so dominated the zeitgeist would also win big commercially.
After all, prior to last year, you had to go all the way back to 2010 for a year in which the highest-grossing movie was neither a sequel nor a superhero flick.

Kevin Costner is heavily into Western drama when he’s not doing his sports drama films. The actor headlined Taylor Sheridan’s series set in a Montana ranch, Yellowstone. He’s also currently working on his two-part dream Western project, Horizon. With all his love for the cowboy genre, it would be surprising for fans to know that Costner turned down a villain role in Django Unchained.

The Quentin Tarantino film had a stellar star cast, including Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson. Costner would have been an interesting addition to the film if he didn’t have to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

The repercussions of his contentious exit are still being felt across the rolling hills of TV drama, yet the door to collaboration with the show’s mastermind, Taylor Sheridan, hasn’t been firmly shut. Fans may recall Costner’s indelible performance as patriarch John Dutton, creating a character who became synonymous with the gritty Western series.

Created by Taylor Sheridan and starring Kevin Costner, the Western drama Yellowstone has become one of the biggest shows on modern television. The series’ success is evidenced by its colossal viewership figures and expansion into multiple spin-offs such as 1883 and 1923 along with several upcoming shows.
Yellowstone [Credit: Paramount Network]Many have even credited the show for reviving the beloved genre. However, Sheridan does not seem to believe that, as he described the success of the Emmy-nominated TV series as part of a passing trend that has captured the attention of the audience.
Taylor Sheridan’s Candid Reflection on Yellowstone’s Success
The massive success and the remarkable viewership of Yellowstone did not go unnoticed, with many other studios and production companies introducing their own neo-Western shows, including the ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ reboot Walker, and Outer Range.

Star Wars is a franchise that requires quite a lot of physical dedication and commitment from its actors. Since the series has abundant action, fighting sequences and stunts are nothing new. Unfortunately, however, actors can often suffer collateral damage because of this.

Injuries on set are quite common in action films. Actors can accidentally get hurt for the aesthetic and authenticity of the project, and are forced to be bedridden or on the sidelines. Sometimes they bounce back quickly, and the show goes on after a small hiccup. Other times, filming is forced to be postponed until the star is able to come back swinging again.
One incident involving Harrison Ford and a hydraulic door became quite well-known. However, many fans might not know that there was another casualty to this prop.

Take in the dramatic conflicts and rolling pastures of Yellowstone, and you’ll understand why its visionary creator, Taylor Sheridan, is so intolerant of any criticism that he vehemently maintains is unfounded. How often do we stumble upon a show that ricochets between the resonant truths of culture and the rugged beauty of storytelling, only to find its essence misconstrued?
Sheridan, the maestro behind the curtain, was quick to demolish the notion that his beloved series is merely a “conservative” or “Republican show”—a label he challenged in an eye-opening conversation with The Atlantic in 2022.

The narrative landscape of Yellowstone is so firmly anchored in tackling themes like Native American historical displacement that one must ask: Can the interpretation of such a complex production truly be painted with a single color of the political spectrum?
And the Sons of Anarchy actor is here to provide a thorough explanation!

It’s not over ’til it’s over. And Kevin Costner insists that he’s not necessarily done with creator Taylor Sheridan or Yellowstone.
The fifth season of Yellowstone has been set to be the show’s last, with alleged scheduling conflicts that have star Kevin Costner leaving the show. Right now, Yellowstone is planning to air its final episodes in November before launching a new, Costner-free spinoff series, 2024, in December.
But Costner, who plays patriarch John Dutton on the show, claims those final episodes haven’t come together just yet.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his latest film, Horizon: An American Saga, Costner said that he still hasn’t connected with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan on making those final episodes.
“No, we haven’t [talked],” Costner said. However, he added that he’s open to working with Sheridan in the future, whether it’s Yellowstone-related or something new.

Taylor Sheridan’s neo-western drama Yellowstone became a resounding success not only for the sharp and potent writing by the actor-turned-director, but also for its ensemble cast led by Kevin Costner who turned in memorable performances. Wes Bentley who is a recognizable face in many Hollywood blockbusters, was one of them.

Kevin Costner starred in the title role in the 1991 blockbuster film, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Costner was brutally trolled for his performance due to his accent, but the film still made huge bucks for the producers. Interestingly, Costner was in talks with 20th Century Fox to star in another Robin Hood movie directed by Die Hard fame John McTiernan. Morgan Creek Entertainment, who produced the 1991 movie, used a trick to poach Costner from the other Robin Hood movie.

The beloved Tom Hanks flick, Forrest Gump, which narrates the tale of a sweet but simple-minded common man who unintentionally finds himself at the center of significant moments in American history, is commemorating its 30th anniversary this summer.
Robert Zemeckis’ directorial was one of the biggest hits of the 1990s, no doubt. It took home six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director. Kevin Costner was on a roll with his baseball-based movies in the 1980s & ’90s, starting with the 1988 film Bull Durham. The film featured Costner in the role of veteran catcher ‘Crash’ Davis, who is brought in to teach rookie pitcher Nuke, played by Tim Robbins. The film was a critical and commercial success, but it was also a topic of discussion among some online fans for one scene in the film. It is rumored that Costner made a young bat boy cry during the film.

Kevin Costner is ready to return to the director’s chair with the epic Western Horizon. Split into two parts, the saga is reportedly set before and after the events of the American Civil War. After over twenty years, the film sees the Oscar-award-winning filmmaker returning as a director. His last film as a director was Open Range.
Costner’s epic saga has been years in the making and has been the subject of controversy due to the actor’s departure from Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone to work on the film. However, one element of the two-part movie might work against the film’s success. According to a new report, the film’s first chapter has a runtime of three hours.

Despite ancient humans having already overcome several potential doomsday scenarios in real life, post-apocalyptic fiction used to be relatively rare until the invention of the atomic bomb convinced us that the end of the world could be just around the proverbial corner.
Since then, we’ve seen many different stories about the collapse of civilization and the strange societies that might emerge from the rubble, but I’d argue that one of the most interesting of these apocalyptic visions is the post-nuclear America of the iconic Fallout games. A witty satire of American jingoism and cold war shenanigans, it’s honestly baffling that it so long for us to finally see a live-action adaptation of this memorable setting.
Thankfully, Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet’s Fallout TV show isn’t just a great adaptation – it’s also an incredibly fun standalone story that makes the most of its post-apocalyptic worldbuilding.

Despite the iconic amalgamation of Aquatic Western with a science-fiction twist, the movie became famous for its outrageous budget and behind-the-scenes creative battles.

The show has garnered a dedicated fan following and constantly has a massive viewership, despite not impressing critics. Costner’s issues have caused some serious damage to the reputation of the TV series that saw its biggest overnight launch for the fifth-season premiere in November 2022. The second part of the fifth season will start filming soon, probably without Costner to lead the show. Yellowstone co-stars have revealed his gentler side over the years which tells a different story from the current drama.

If you haven’t caught “The Trial of Hunter Biden” on Fox Nation since its 2022 release, it appears you’re out of luck. TVNewser has confirmed that the mock trial miniseries focused on the alleged crimes of the president’s son is no longer available on the streamer, having been pulled after threats of a lawsuit from Biden’s legal team.
Key Details: Biden’s team is reportedly planning a lawsuit against Fox over alleged defamation. Say hello to sequel season.
That might as well be the nickname for this summer’s slate of potential blockbusters. Over the next four months, Hollywood is rolling out what it hopes will be a winning mix of follow-ups, reboots and spinoffs from tested franchises like “Despicable Me” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it looks to reinvigorate the shaky movie theater business.
Last summer flipped the script: New properties, such as “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” ruled, while entries in aging series, like “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” and “Mission Impossible 7,” missed the mark. This time out, the tried-and-true may yet prevail. Original offerings like Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s action-comedy “The Fall Guy” and Kevin Costner’s Western “Horizon: An American Saga” will attempt to lure audiences. But analysts anticipate that overly familiar brands — “Despicable Me 4,” Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2...

Cole Hauser, who plays bad boy ranch foreman Rip Wheeler in the hit neo-Western drama Yellowstone, expected his character was “going to be so hated” by viewers. Having been part of the popular Paramount Network series from the first season, Hauser’s Rip has become a fan favorite. After killing his stepfather to protect his abused mother, a young Rip was taken in by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who treated him like a son and taught him how to be a cowboy. However, while loyal and hardworking, Rip also has a violent streak and has murdered on several occasions in order to protect the ranch. It’s because of this ruthless violence that Hauser never thought people, especially women, would like his character. “It surprised the s*** out of [creator] Taylor Sheridan and I, at first,” Hauser told People regarding the positive fan response to his character. “At first, to see women coming up and saying,...

Kevin Costner’s passion project will be a two-part summer release this year. The actor has returned to the director’s seat for the first time in over twenty years for Horizon: An American Saga, which is set to be told in two chapters. Costner began work on this story in 1988 and he has more movies planned. The main character that he invented for this film in 1988 was so important to him that he even named his son, Hayes, after him. He hopes the movies can be a big franchise and that years from now, people can binge-watch hours of Horizon in theaters.
Costner, who is not known to be a franchise actor, is planning to do what most Hollywood tentpole movies aim for — go for that summer movie release date. Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 will be riding into theaters this June, and in a recent report from Deadline...
