Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects (2005)
underrated hidden gem
The story brings a fresh take and perspective through the anti hero's point of view the game and limited comic series explores those interesting with unique concepts but it fails because of the limitations and repetition from replaying the same stages multiple times in story mode, limited character roster that isn't enough for replay value, annoying flying enemy types, annoying projectile enemies that'll target you offscreen, limited moves & limited locations.
There's alot that brings this game down from all of it's flaws. Even killing off punisher, hulk, and captain America (which is ironic and a obvious plot hole because captain america would later show up for the psp port) at the game opening intro. But the problem that i have with this game story is that u don't get enough time to experience what's going on with this universe to care about the story and it's characters including the marvel characters. It felt rushed and incomplete like were given bits and pieces. There's only 11 chapters that all feel the same. I love the cutscenes that shows the imperfects backstories this could've been it's own animated series but u just don't get enough time to develop any of these characters to really draw u in. The story is very short. The problem that I think alot have with this game is that the story and it's concept wasn't planned out, even it's prequel tie in limited comic series contradicts this game story. Such a letdown to a game that had this much potential that can be explored and improved on. This game earn a that right to have a sequel and to be revisited. It holds up well still to this day even running around in a open world stages that u don't see in fighting games.
Overall it's pretty good even for it's time. I would love to see this cast reprise their roles for a potential sequel and EA partnership to revisit this universe because the potential is there.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life (2003)
much weaker than the original
Slightly above the original i got alot of core design's tomb raider comic book run vibes with this movie. However: the end fight scene is lame, alot of missed opportunities and potential. Again, with zero references and mentioned of any of the game series characters, better locations, plot device allies, lame villain, weak motivations, interesting concepts, unique enemy types, random underdeveloped characters with a slight backstory but give no reason to care about them, weak script, ok fight scenes and beautiful Angelina Jolie as Lara croft that perfectly fit the role and embodies the character, but the weak story give her not much to do and pandora's box serves as a mcguffin.
The Flash (2023)
good actors can't save bad movie
Keaton and Sasha Calle is the only highlight of this movie and they carried this movie in the 2nd half of this film for their characters introduction. Sasha Calle is the perfect Supergirl (no propaganda) just great character development growth and willingness to help. (as soon as i saw her in the trailer i knew she was going to be perfect) however what cause barry to become dark flash and how he's defeated is LAME! It gets worse bcuz they killed keaton's batman twice in the matter of seconds like why bring him back promote him as if he was going to play a key part of the story in the trailers just to kill him off and replaced keaton for clooney at the end. This is the biggest F U to all of burton verse batman fans because we waited for 30-40 years to finally get keaton to become batman again just to him dirty like that. This is a TERRIBLE FAN FILM! Some scenes looks like a ps2 cutscene. So for any hope for a batman beyod most likely won't happened because of the idiotic decisions made by wbd and dcu thank god the synder verse ois ober and speaking of snyderverse when gal godot save barry and reveal her wonder women it immediately starts playing ww theme out of nowhere for no reason and it immediately took me out of the scene. Soooo trash.
Tomb Raider (2018)
terrible fan fiction
No way in hell that this garbage is better then anglina jolie's tomb raider which was based on core design's lara croft tomb raider from sega dreamcast and ps1 eras. So all already i'm going to downvote this by default bcuz it's positive review bombed.
This trash is based on 2013 square enix & crystal dynamics fan fiction reboot trilogy that had nothing to do with the source material of tomb raider and lara croft as a character that was created by core design and toby gard.
Also the plot is predictable bland uninspired generic terrible acting and awful and thank god the sequel was cancelled last year.
Constantine (2005)
Underrated Masterpiece
Overly hated movie by critics and a cult classic by fans solid cast great acting interesting concept noir mystery that explores heaven and hell smacked in the middle of our world "a world behind a world" where angels and demons walks amongst us.
Rachal Weisz's Angela a detective whose also catholic investigates her twin sister Isabel suicide. Keanu's Constantine who's known around the precinct trying to buy his way into heaven but he's doing good deeds for selfish reasons until he met Angela. Keanu nailed the role perfectly that i would've never would ever expect coming from him. Seeing him as a rude arrogant and things in that nature.
I love that they later on in the film bonded with each other. Keanu and Rachal Weisz has great on screen chemistry. Definitely one of Keanu's best movies from his early days and i'm glad that it's finally getting the appreciation that it deserves, even rotten tomatoes issued an apology letter acknowledging that they was too harsh towards the film when it originally released in 2005 and said that it's actually a great film. U know this movie is too good when critics even said that they was wrong putting out apology letter. Man, i hope the sequel gets made i owned the blu ray copy but this movie nver gets old i watched this about 20 times and it's still fascinates me. How visually impressive and the most intriguing plot that it has that still aged so well 20 years later. This movie was soo ahead of its time.
Daredevil (2003)
5.3/10 really??
This movie is definitely being review bombed that's for sure bcuz it's nowhere near as bad as she-hulk, ms. Marvel, captain marvel, iron man 3, eternals, ant man 3, Loki and all of phase 4 & 5 combined and just overall modern superhero movies that has forced humor ever 2 seconds.
Sure it had cheesy moments, and the music that dated this movie: Evanescence - Bring Me To Life, Evanescence - My Immortal
it's very early 2000's and u can feel it.
Rap songs that doesn't fit the movie nor the characters such as neptune's lapdance like who did the soundtrack? It's TERRIBLE!
This movie wouldn't feel dated at all if it would've had danny elfman this movie would've felt timeless if he would've don the soundtrack.
Even in the director's cut the movie still suffers from too many subplots and not enough time to developed and flush out all the characters there's 4 books of all different stories made into one under a 2 hour and 13 mins of run time.
And ppl keep whinnying and complaining about his suit failing to realize that this movie was under literal development hell with fox melding, rushing out the movie and that's not even by the director vision. And in the concept art there's 92 pages of costume designs made for this film. 4 suits was already premade and looked alot better than the official final cut version.
There's 46 pages of daredevil suits, 15 pages of elektra outfits, 27 pages of bullseye suits and 4 pages of kingpin outfits.
Fox wanted none of that according to the director mark steven johnson during 20th anniversary:
"The executives wanted to replicate the success of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man - released a year earlier - but didn't understand the Daredevil character. "They didn't want a costume," he later said. "They didn't want horns. They didn't want anything." "It was ridiculous," he said in 2019. "They were like, 'We're not going to put a man in devil horns! They call him Daredevil because he does daring things, not because he dresses up like a devil'. I was like, 'You have to! Otherwise, he's not Daredevil'." Eventually, Fox executives conceded on the costume, but then fought Johnson on the colour red. The studio wanted black. They eventually compromised on something in the middle, more or less the colour of blood. Johnson added: "And then some people go, 'Bah, he's got a leather costume, that's bulls***, he should be in spandex. You ruined my childhood'. And I'm like, 'Dude, you have no idea - I fought so hard just to get horns'." MSJ via independent
how the hell is this so one sided but Zack Snyder and David Ayer that later had the same thing happened to them there's an uproar?? As if fox never had a reputation on meddling with the director's projects, they have a history going back as far as x-men 2000.
I feel like ppl are latching out their anger to the wrong thing it shouldn't be towards this movie it should've been towards the fox. The theatrical cut was never the director's vision that had almost an hour worth of footage to rerelease want his wanted with unused footage to make the director's cut and made an apology video in the director's cut explaining that fox wanted more of jennifer garner, love scenes and more of a slower, pace. I think it's alot of trolls and mcu/Netflix stans that's down voting this movie without giving it a chance and watch the director's cut for a far superior version and much better experince.
Elektra (2005)
What... A... Letdown !
The opening 2 minute scene is better then the entire film and the ending is weak.
(update); Elektra (Two-Disc Director's Cut Collector's Edition) & the unrated cut, yeah this movie is still is still Irredeemable.
The movie intro was warning signs of what's to come but after that the opening scene J.gard nail the role she really felt like she came out of the pages of Elektra Lives Again comic. How she mimics a ghostly presence lingering within the shadows toying with her prey and how her target was monologuing confessing how she was messing with him and he knew she was coming for him the movie showed huge potential in that aspect but the rest of the movie it was all over the place even cut out ben affleck's daredevil like wtf like the movie doesn't know what it wanted to be a spinoff, or a sequel or a stand alone. And then what really put this movie down is the created characters that's not even from the comics: mark & abby miller and then change alot of the characters that are from the comics. , Roshi, Kinkou, Meizumi in an incredibly flawed incoherent script
and making Stone a villain when stone is a friend of daredevil in the comics, gender swapping Nina McCabe by making her into a male character by only using the character last name McCabe. There wasn't even a main villain for this movie. Lol smfh. This movie should've had Radioactive Man as elektra's main villain since they're enemies in the comics. This movie feels so disconnected, so to sum it up this movie was directionless filter that's so disjointed with Garner and her character being wasted. I hope she gets a second chance, and the blame shouldn't go on her she did the best that she could, however it doesn't matter how good of an actor and actress u are, u can't make a bad script and awful movie good, no matter how good u are. The blame Soley goes to: rob bowman, zak penn, stuart zicherman & raven metzner and 20th century fox. I only giving this 9 bcuz of m-she-u and it's messaging and i also like the opening bcuz it's what u expect her character to do in the rest of the movie unfortunately they drop the ball and sabotage J.gard's career when it was the bad script that felt like a bad fan film. The movie shot itself by trying to build a story around non existing characters instead of maintaining the supernatural mysterious and myth setting that it build up from the opening instead of trying to create artificial connections to the created characters that u don't care about.
Alias (2001)
bad writing, ok show
I have to start off with the negatives the love between Sydney Bristow and Michael Vaughn felt forced and had no build up.
Also how the hell did nobody noticed and figured out that they wasn't working for the CIA for over 5 years except for Sydney that figured it out in less than months.
This was one of the earlier cases of jj abrams and the problems in his writing bcuz it's a mystery box. That nobody else solve that except for the protagonist.
The story gets boring at times it bounces around with love sub plots that u don't care about family dynamics that's underdeveloped and annoying side characters: Will Tippin that's also uses as plot device to further the story.
Eric Weiss is inconsistent in one season he's strictly business a few episodes later he's trying to hook up Sydney Bristow and Michael Vaughn and almost got them killed on a love sub plot that was never hinted at all of a suddenly she's madly in love with Michael with feeling for him that never really existed.
Batman Returns (1992)
THIS MOVIE IS MY CHILDHOOD!
OMG THERE'S NOTHING BAD THAT I CAN SAY ABOUT IT'S SUCH A MASTERPIECE THAT I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START.
Tim burton batman movies are so revolutionary that itself reinvented batman ip and brought the character into prominence introducing the dark gritty serious gothic style that we haven't seen before and this was all during adam west era. This is such an influential film that it should be noted how impactful it is and should be always remembered.
Yeah, there was short coming such as keaton's suit that became a meme from how he wasn't able to move his neck, there wasn't cgi in this time period so u was able to see the stunt double in some scenes but i didn't care about that when i was a kid when i saw these two films growing up Keaton is my batman and he introduced me to batman (the dark knight). No longer was batman that act all cartoony from west's cape crusader era he was finally taken seriously. The cast is amazing, Michelle Pfeiffer embodies catwoman in every way and the naive selina kyle before becoming catwoman, Danny DeVito is epic as penguin, he stole the spotlight in every scene that he was in, just everybody had their time to shine individually. This movie is so iconic. Keaton returning as batman had me returning to watch these two movies again and it's still as legendary as it was back then. We would never had batman mania if it wasn't for Tim burton & keaton's batman the animated series would never exist, if it wasn't for these movies. I will always hold these movies in a high pedestal.
Catwoman (2004)
BAD FAN FICTION
A multimillion-dollar failure. Selina kyle whos that? Its really pathetic that this the first thing pop's up in the search results when searching for catwoman when she's not even selina kyle she's Patience Phillips: a woman who works in the art department for a beauty product agency which produces beauty products such as a skin care cream. Yes no longer selina kyle: a woman who grew up in poverty that resorted to crime with a tragic backstory and being chased by batman as a result of her actions. NOPE U get the most cookie cutter cop as a love interest and the most basic storyline imaginable that replaces batman replaces selina kyle. Daredevil and elektra from 2003 eat ur heart out with even worth fight chorphic and the worst acting at the same location that daredevil 2003 film. What's whith these awful movies filming the most cringest scenes at a park. This movie's crowning achievements is winning these awards in 2005:
Worst Picture/Most Intrusive Musical Score & Least "Special" Special Effects - Warner Bros - Won
Worst Actress - Halle Berry - Won (somehow after this movie killed halle berry's popularity she recently just came back to the spotlight 20+ years later trying to make a comeback under john wick 3)
Worst Supporting Actor - Lambert Wilson - Nominated.
Worst Supporting Actress - Sharon Stone - Nominated.
Worst Screen Couple - Halle Berry and Benjamin Bratt - Nominated.
Worst Director - Jean-Christophe "Pitof" Comar - Won
he was so bad that after this movie he retired with only 3 movies under his belt. Still shocked on how they managed to green light a visual effects supervisor as a director of this movie, this movie deserved to fail not just being of the idiocy of that but also bcuz of ignoring the source materal completely and creating a new character instead.
Worst Screenplay - John Brancato and Michael Ferris, John Rogers - Won
- all via 2005's Golden Raspberry Awards & Stinkers Bad Movie Awards
P. S. Never allow these hacks to ever writer a script for the rest of their lives.
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
the second best in the entire franchise
Back when fast and furious movies were good & about "RACING". NOBODY HAD SUPER CARS AND SUPERPOWERS it was an action drama thriller with street racing, with a story that centers around Paul walker being a undercover cop using dom family to get to him. It was a cool looking cars best soundtrack and the last good fast and furious movie,
before this franchise went downhill by being outrageous by bringing back dead characters and casting anyone to the role like the rock, john cena now brie larson. Smh.
DOA: Dead or Alive (2006)
DOA: Dead on Arrival - cosplay the movie
Poorly cast: alot of the actresses are older than who they're portraying on screen, like Natassia Malthe as Ayane, Devon Aoki as Kasumi who btw looks nothing like the character it's so bad i had to google to see who she's supposed to be and in Promotional poster Natassia Malthe as Ayane has blonde hair? WTF LOL at least try to give a damn to look like the character for once holy crap.
She's just an idiot and the purple wing on this actress makes her hard to take seriously in one second she's wants to fight her sister (which is consistent to what she's like in the games) but then a second later she kneels to her and want her sister to control her wtf so out of character all within 3 mins at the start of the movie the acting is bad at the start. This movie was a career killer.
The acting is so bad looks like Aoki is struggling on remembering her own lines its so cringe. This is paul w.s. Anderson at his worst.
Ppl wanna talk about Jennifer garner career never recovered i feel sorry for Devon Aoki for skipping out on reprising her role for fast and furious tokyo drift for this garbage. The actors and actresses have no chemistry, the dialogue is cringeworthy and the very theme that this movie center on is the action and that's even forgettable, the fight chorography is scorpion king sequels bad. In retrospect this movie is why Devon Aoki in her short career never has been the same and never recovered and was reduced to mediocrity. Honestly i'm giving this review too much of my time then Paul has ever done with the script.
Its like an all female crouching tiger hidden dragon meets mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
Hercules (2014)
a spiritual sequel to the scorpion king
There are even some similarities, but i gotta say that at least this time they got his long hair to look natural this time around compared to Dwayne "the rock" Johnson's younger days as the scorpion king, (2001, 2002) in his solo debut film and featured in the mummy returns, days.
The story is pretty faithful to Hercules: The Knives of Kush (2011) & Hercules: The Thracian Wars (2008) by Steve Moore comic run.
But leans more towards Hercules: The Thracian Wars (2008) graphic novel "Nearly 3,200 years ago, a tormented soul walked the Earth as neither man nor God: Hercules, powerful son of the god-king Zeus, and for this he received nothing but suffering. After 12 arduous labors and the loss of his family, this dark, world-weary soul turned his back on the gods, finding solace only in bloody battle. Over the years, he warmed to the company of six similar souls, bonded by their love of fighting and the presence of death never questioning where they go or who they fight, just how much they will be paid. Now the King of Thrace has hired these mercenaries to turn his men into the greatest army of all time, which means training them to be as bloodthirsty and ruthless as their own reputation. It is time for this band of lost souls to finally have their eyes opened to how far they have fallen and the narrow, perilous path to their own redemption."
this is the rock at his best and i have to disagree with an reviewer that said "he is not a "great" actor, no it's not his acting ability that's the problem it's his choices of movie roles that's the problem with Garbage like: (2010) Tooth Fairy, G. I. Joe: Retaliation, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level & Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Just movies nobody ask for & movies that nobody cares about that has no appeal.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)
has nothing to do with Jumanji
Has zero connection and ties to the original and piggybacks off of the franchise. Its only Jumanji by name only. Unfunny kevin hart and a wannabe comedic actor the rock is a recipe for disaster.
The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior (2008)
prequel, of a prequel, of a prequel, garbage!
Instead of picking up where the first movie lefted off and bringing the rock back to reprise his role. Instead, universal cast the Blue Power Ranger actor for the role that looks nothing like the rock this was the beginning of the end of the series that shouldn't even been a series, and a repeated history of recastings. Filled with inconsistency with characters like Young Layla, that's supposedly his childhood friend but who the hell is layla? Idk, she was never mentioned nor referenced in the first movie. I guess the writers didn't know either. And in the scorpion king video game - Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian, that actually features the rock doing the voice over and hosted the game there were no mention on any of these characters that's in this movie and that game is a prequel to the first movie before those events. The problem gets even worse with this movie plot holes bcuz again in the game it was hinted at that King Urmhet was his father but again the movie never even mentions or reference King Urmhet. The timeline is completely ruined as this movie series continued to be milked i didn't needed to exist and should've been a one off movie. But this is classic universal studios they tried to do the same with mummy 3 by not bring back the original director: Stephen Sommers that written and directed mummy '99 & mummy returns for Rob Cohen that based it on Sommers mummy universe like a fan film. Universal sure does has a history on recasting and changing directors.
The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption (2012)
everything is terrible
Bad fight choreography
bad plot
bad acting
bad casting
bad recasting
awful dialogue
no chemistry
terrible story
bad script bad writing and how to not make a movie 101.
The Scorpion King (2002)
still better then all of it's sequels combined
The story was solid the action and pacing was good and some of the mummy charm sprinkled in. Everybody did a decent job and served as a conclusion of his story arc from the mummy returns on how he became king the rest after this is all garbage!
Ms. Marvel (2022)
CW meets disney's marvel
Is the show fun? Yes. But is there alot of problems? Yess
so lets break it down. Number one Plot Convenience. Her gets her cosmic powers in an attic from a bracelet that she just so happens to be in the same box that she needed for jewelry. Then gets chased after by drones and a car pulls up at the very same spot and knew exactly what just happen that was never broadcasted, or anything And they knew exactly who she was, and they escape seconds later and the ppl they were chasing her with the drones couldn't find her and couldn't detect the getaway car that just lefted a few seconds ago and the scene makes it out like she vanished without a trace. Lol.
Here's when it really hits to CW level the actress Iman Vellani can hardly even run she runs like she's 400 pounds bcuz as soon as she runs she's out of breath 2 seconds later and this is somehow supposed to be our hero that isn't in shape can't fight and one of her "fiends" that she runs to for information is like a discount Jarvis bcuz he's always have the right information at the right time at the right place and always Jarvis and always Convenience this friend is only their as a plot device to keep the story going forward.
Alot of cringe and bad moments but i'm not going to lie i laugh at some of the scenes but the writing for this show is terrible.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
quentin tarantino is a clown
The amount of disrespect towards bruce lee is unbelievable. The man has been dead for over 40 years and to have this clown cast a random Asian actor making a parody out of the legendary and iconic martial artist Jeet Kune Do fighter and actor. Is sad that this is what we gotta deal with.
L.A.'s Finest (2019)
SJW parody of bad boys film series
I'm getting vibes of bad boys movie but gender swap the main characters i feel like the only excuse that they got this show made is bcuz Gabrielle Union was in bad boys 2. Jessica alba is miserable to watch she's an unfunny gender swap mike lowrey/will smith's character: that's smart, uses looks to charm and is a bad ass, that's the entirely of will smith's mike lowrey character traits, acts like nothing from what she was like in bad boys 2 she literally is martin Lawrence's Marcus burnett. I feel like this show is used as a vehicle for female empowerment making all the male characters stupid and braindead that can't think for themselves. And i also feel like its mocking the fans that like the movies. I'm kinda surprise that it made it to 2 seasons before cancelation its so bad that it should've been canceled after the 1st season its just lazy storytelling and writing.
Imagine if they would have done a spinoff to martin tv show with pam and gina except gina acts nothing like what we known of her from martin tv show instead she acts like martin and pam acts like tommy and in this spin off makes abunch of references with only one cameo (john salley from bad boys movies) and little to small mentions of the actual main characters that this show is based off of while copying and mocking what fans like from the show well in this case movies but with bad jokes, puns and Woke SJW CRINGE virtue signaling, identity politics that will make u instantly regret ever watching it after the very first episode that makes the whole spin off just feel like it just wasted ur time that's this show in a nutshell. There's nothing that further the story of what was already established by the films no world building again this show is just used as a vehicle to ride the coattails of the movies to virtue signal. There's literately a line from the 3rd ep where Jessica alba says "lets just indulge your father in his old school misogyny" 5 mins in the episode 3 - con air.
BloodRayne: A Fan Film (2008)
cringy af just as bad as all 3 bloodrayne movies just let it die already these films murder bloodrayne franchise out of existence
Bad acting bad casting, ps1 VFX: Visual Effects, extra bright rayne costume that doesn't look right in alot of scenes its so bad its good but not watchable just like the others
All Eyez on Me (2017)
one word to describe this cash grab
GARBAGE
its really bad its so bad that the writer made stuff up and got called out for it so bad that tupac mother didn't even want this movie out
