What a wonderful watch .....
10 January 2020
I have to say that his year has been very wanting with regards to quality movies, and until seeing this I was convinced that Joker and Joachin, Phoenix would scoop best movie and actor awards across the board. That thought has now been thrown into turmoil as 1917 is a better movie, and the George MacKay portrayal of Schofield is wonderful. How Sam Mendes pulled off the end to end nature of the story in fabulous. I cannot recommend this highly enough, and would suggest the bigger the screen the better......enjoy

Oh Dear

I really wonder how some movies get made, and this is definitely one of them. Frank Grillo is rubbish enough for this, but Naomi Harris is better than this, as is Tyrese Gibson. In fact despite this being a pretty poor year for decent movies, there are not many quite as bad as this ....... give it a miss.

Cockney Jack the Lads ..... 'aving a larff
12 November 2019
I really do not understand why the US series makers believe that English criminals all speak with cockney accents. The actual fact is that cockneys are just big headed idiots, and unfortunately that whole persona takes over this rather poor episode with rather devastating effect ..... the addition of Vinnie Jones just adds to the misery ....... sorry but this episode is nothing short of being pathetic and condescending to the rest of the UK.

Kidman is excellent

I really wonder what type of movies that some people like. Its clear that many can't see beyond the big action, shoot 'em up films that rattle your ears from start to finish. Far be it for me to criticise, but this movie is really much better than many of its low numbered reviews indicate, and IMO is the best acting performance from Nicole Kidman since Bangkpk Hilton all of those years ago. ..... Those who can see beyond the end of their nose please give it a try.. OK its is a little longer than it needed to be, and in parts a little pretentious, but deep down it is a very decent movie,

There is hope for Holmes and Watson yet!!

I'm sorry but as hard as I tried I thought that this was meaningless rubbish. Another example of film makers trying to be overly cerebral, and making a has of it. I painfully sat my way through this thinking that an epiphany would eventually manifest itself, but sadly not....... it really is not an award worthy movie and I suspect that, like La La land, it is really just another wrist kissing exercise, and more of a nod to Netflix than a serious recognition of any real movie substance .......... compare this to City of God and it doesn't come close.

Awful Awful Awful!!

This is the worst movie I have ever seen, and how some people can award it 10 out of 10 I really don't know. Even the producers and director must know how terrible this movie is and if this doesn't win a razzie then something is really not right with the world.

Makes you realise what a loss Freddie was
24 October 2018
This movie was a brilliant portrayal of the mixed up life, and massive talent that was Mercury ... and that is in no way meant to diminish the other fabulous musicians who made up this wonderful band. Whilst Freddie's life and death are quite well documented, his inner turmoil is not - this movie opens this up for all to see, and highlights actions and individuals who had a large influence on his fragile life, both good and horrendously bad. If only he could have been happy with the knowledge that he had one of the best singing voices, if not THE best, that ever fronted a rock band. Rami Malek does a wonderful job of portraying him, and in so many ways has captured his mannerisms to a tee. Loved it, and listening to the music in an IMAX auditorium was brilliant.
