Seriously is that how they wanted the series to look like.
27 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
It's been a while since I've bashing the twilight saga. Yes I'm a girl and I'm proud to say that I don't find anything too romantic about this so called worldwide phenomenon. I didn't go to see this in the theater because my god! The last one BDP 1 was sooooo horrible that I almost vomited in my seat. I got the movie just now so I just decided to give a try. It was after Bella became a vampire. She can now everything in close ups, hear Minor sounds and even smell fresh human blood. Her dad found a new person in his life. Things got better with Jacob and his old pal but now the volturi is coming after them because Edward's cousin witnessed Renesmee (not such a bad name to me though, I've heard worse) their half human- half vampire daughter and presumed that she is an immortal child. Rest of the plot deals with the Cullen trying their best to gather as many witnesses as possible and confront the volturi.

Yes this is the plot point. Most of you may even ask "Is that it?" It is a great improvement from new moon, eclipse and definitely BDP 1 because it contains less cheesy dialogs and better plot. I mean better and not great. I know what guys will look forward to, more fighting scenes and deaths. We will all look forward to a movie with better pacing, acting and effects. That is what making a movie all is about.

Kristen Stewart is a one horrible actress in this franchise as she acted and looked literally the same in the last four movies. She was blinking, mouth breathing, shaking her head, expressionless, and her kept mouth open the whole time (to show off her enormous buck teeth maybe). But she looked and acted different in this movie because by keeping her mouth closed most of the time (seriously) and with lack of abnormal shaking, blinking and mouth breathing. But she got the razzie for this movie and it is not fair (I would of course gladly comply when it comes to her winning for the previous ones) because she improved a lot since her previous performances and she didn't get nominated for new moon (the movie where she gave the worst performance).

Robert Pattinson is the same, same and there is nothing much to talk about. That's how it is.

Taylor Launtner gave a bipolar like performance with either extreme underacting or overacting. And he also had the dumb look that we all remember him for. Ashley Greene was horrible. She was the only person I liked in new moon and she didn't do well in this.

Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Peter Fascinelli and Elizabeth Reaser were all just standing around doing nothing. When it comes to performance the descent ones actually are Kristen of course then there is Billy Burke, Dakota fanning and Aro's high pitched laugh. The effects were okay but I totally despised the vampires shattering like glass idea (and sparkling not to mention). Make up was good though.

Then the one than shattered me and of course millions of other who expected the better outcome of this saga. The ending! (Spoiler)

The fight scene at the end was really cool and it was the best part of the saga. Not because I like action scenes, but because that was where finally something with pace and consequence finally happens. You see Jane die, with Aro, Caius, Carlisle and Jasper. But no it is nothing but Alice's vision and the cowardly leader Aro almost immediately calls off the attack ignoring his friends and colleagues. (I'm sorry I'm pretty sure that they were not his friends). Again, I hate the shattering like glass concept but both Jane and Aro's deaths were done well. And yes it is ruined!!! (spoiler)

The movie therefore is horrible but better compared to its preceding ones. They try to make it look interesting yet boring at the same time. It is definitely not the description the trailer "An epic finale that will live forever". To tell the truth it is dead long after the end credits of the movie. 3/10

If it wasn't for Gerry… then Olympus has fallen, a familiar die hard theme
2 August 2013
Well I'm a big fan of Hollywood films. My father and I are adamant when it comes to selection of movies. We make sure the films we buy are worth collecting so that is how our collection of ten years is still narrowed to 600. Olympus has fallen was suggested by a close friend of my father's, who is a bigger movie critic. Okay then, time to press on. Movie starts with Gerard Butler's character miserably failing to save the first lady in a freak accident on a bridge. He is traumatized and even after 18 months he hasn't recovered from that guilt. Then we have a sudden invasion of terrorists from N. Korea with sophisticated demands. Thus the most protected building in the world has fallen. The American army which supposed to be the best in the world failed. The terrorist managed enter inside the president's emergency bunker and hold all necessary officials as hostages. Now that sounds familiar… like 1995 film air force one. The only difference is that in Air force one the president is the hero. Here we have a John McLane type character Mike Banning played By Gerard Butler who just ends up inside while fighting, gets emotional to see all his friends dead on ground and sneaks inside the white house unnoticed and reached the oval office. I enjoyed the movie. It was a good 'thriller' as we sit at the edge of our seats until the whole thing just wraps up. But here are the logical reasons why this movie is less impressive.

1. Generally the whole movie centers around this 'John McLane' named Mike Banning, and it if wasn't for him then the officials and everyone were helpless before the 40 terrorist as it is said. And he reaches in purely by luck and if he didn't? Generally Morgan freeman's characters and other people outside are not doing anything to save the president all the plans they make simply backfire them. 2. Surely is this movie is trying to show what happens when the 'Olympus' falls? With all the others hatred towards America like the terrorists here or the Middle East people celebrate when they heard about WH attack. 3. Sacrificing a nation for one. Sacrificed by those who all follow vows "We won't go down without a fight" and "America don't negotiate with terrorists". Well this is not negotiating, this is a direct order given by the terrorists so the officials have no other choice. 4. Giving the terrorist what they need will never save what they are holding as hostage, that is reality and above logic every terrorist one way or the shows that at the end. 5. Dumb fight scenes. Other secret service agents cannot fight the way Butler's character can. Well he has dealt with people like before haven't they?

Overall this movie is about a one man army fight against a terrorist group that couldn't be defeated by a nation's fleet. Well the teens will enjoy it due to the action pack.

Could have been better.
8 February 2013
I liked the hunger games book. It was pretty thrilling and edge of the seat. The characters and the emotions were well depicted. But the movie could have been lot better. I felt as if they started it quickly and ended it just as. But some portions were better than the book though. The reaping scene for example, then the district 11 riot. Jennifer Lawrence delivered an effortless performance for the movie. Josh Hutcherson managed to look different from his usual chocolate boy teenage roles. Woody Harrelson was also in his usual standard. Other than the Rue's farewell score, there was nothing much on the film that makes one remember the hunger games. I wished James Newton Howard could have added something more and better in the movie. The song Abraham's daughter was very haunting and vibrant. Overall the movie was quiet enjoyable and re watchable but it just could have been better. The climax was not up to the mark. 7/10

Best among the series!!!!
11 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Don't READ IF YOU Haven't SEEN THE MOVIE

The one word I would use to describe Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows part 2 is "Spectacular". There are many reasons for it. Let me start. I was a strong fan of Harry Potter since I saw the first film. I've read all the books and the movies were also good. The series may not 100% appealing to everyone, as some may still find it difficult to swallow the idea of witches and wizards flying around on brooms etc. Some may find it stupid and childish, some may think it as rubbish when it comes to the whole concept of kids going to a school of witchcraft and wizardry. Some will find it really creative as they notice a whole new world created by J K Rowling (which is where I step in). However it goes, the biggest attraction or the plus point I find in Harry Potter series is the way they have highlighted Friendship, family, true love (and not lust unlike the twilight saga) bravery, courage, sacrifice (and not suicide) the affinity towards academic activities and education.

That is what the books highlight, now the movies have to rule out as well add in a lot of things. The last movie was highly anticipated because it is end of the franchise. The movies Goblet of fire, order of the phoenix and half blood prince weren't up to to the expectations because so many cool sub plots were eliminated and th movies were just action thriller.

Even Deathly hallows part 2 have many sub plots missing.Sub plots like, Harry and Ginny's relationship. I don't their relationship was shown well enough to convince the audience. In spite of that still this movie managed to capture our attentions and enter in my best movies list with help of direction, acting, music and visual effects.

This film had everything, drama, humor, action, suspense and artistic scenes. David Yats improved a lot since the Order of the phoenix. Performances was good from all the actors. This film had Daniel's best performance from all the Harry Potter movie. He managed to remain steadfast and controlled. He's improved on not having a blank face. I want to see him do more good movies and roles. Emma Watson was at her best. She is no longer the geek bushy haired girl we met in philosopher's stone. She's changed and delivered a versatile performance. Hermione is true role model for every little girl and Emaa has to be the actor with the brightest future among the entire teen cast. Because she is beautiful and has a lot of caliber.

Rupert was the only person i found less impressive compared to others because he had nothing much to do or deliver. Tom Felton is the handsomest guy in the series. It's a pity that the Slytherin kids had to be locked in the dungeons and not have them involved in the battle, except two of course Lord voldemort, and Severus Snape. Ralph Fiennes have more and more weird as the series progressed. Alan Rickman was totally brilliant. A lot of characters died in the series. Sirius Black was my favorite character but I didn't feel sad when he died, because I heard too many reviews on how sad his death scene was so the effect was gone. Same was in the case of dumbledore whose death is supposed to be a tear jerker. But when Snape died, I felt sad (I didn't cry though) Because the certain thought came to my mind that is they will really miss the professor who comes bursting into the class without any words and say "Page 394". And the whole back story of Sbnape was very touching. When he died he was no longer the person who simply terrifies Harry.

The one person who didn't from the beginning was Helena Bonham Carter. She was brilliant in the sense anyone will feel like putting a cruciatus curse on Bellatrix Lestrange. Julie Walters, Maggie Smith, and all were good. Bonnie Wright was the only person I found the least worthy because. She just can't do great emotions and her character also didn't look that over whelming. Her reaction when she hears that "Harry Potter is dead" could have presented better. Besides there should have been more depth added to the relation between Harry and Ginny.

The technical part was also handled well. The movie had convincing 3D effects. There many memorable scenes like

1. the bank vault where the vessels multiply when touched. 2. Dragon escape scene. 3. The final Battle where Voldemort is defeated.

Alexandre Desplat music was good. I was totally in love with the Harry Potter since I listened to them on you tube just for fun. Alexandre Desplat added more to increase the depth and creepiness at some situations.

The movie was wonderful and everybody did wonderful jobs and the thing is it could have been better with little more polishing. But no adaptation is perfect and all the movies managed to stand up to the best it can.

The epic scene that is the final one where the trio's children go away to their time in Hogwarts we then see the trio together for the last time on the final chapter and the series is concluded.

Could have been better
10 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I was a big fan of the movie Batman begins. Christopher Nolan entered my all time favorite directors list. He is a gifted man with an excellent vision and completely different style of filmmaking. With movies like Memento, inception and prestige, he indeed succeeded in creating more variety and complex themes look good on screen. By sticking completely with the Batman series he is not having the opportunity to something else. So I am glad that the series ended. The Dark knight rises was a very promising film and much awaited movie. I was excited to see new additions like Anne Hathaway, Marion Cottilard, Tom Hardy and Joseph Levitt Gordon.

But the movie was a great disappointment especially because the plot had too many unnecessary holes and turns. Rachel Dawes's death in Dark knight itself was a the movie's major drawback. She was an excellent character. Major one was Bruce Wayne's hiding. How can a guy lose his complete faith and be in the hiding while the city suffers? Okay he wanted a hero without a mask to rule the Gotham city. Why did he have to hide as Bruce Wayne? That was kind of cowardly act from his part. I also didn't like the part where Alfred Left. The man who nurtured him since the day he was born.

Yet the direction made the movie a lot better than it is. All the actors did very job in presenting their respective characters, especially Anne Hathaway, Joseph Levitt Gordon and Gary Oldman. Movie could have been made a lot better with a little more polishing. The fight scenes were terrible. Visual and sound effects were okay. Hans Zimmer did a good job in the soundtrack. The movie is worth a onetime watch, if you are die-hard fan of the franchise. 7/10

Just like a video game..
6 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I have always enjoyed the Resident evil franchise. The first one had a bad ending but was definitely re watchable. The second and third movie had nothing but lot of action and running. Fourth movie, that is the resident evil Afterlife was very good. It had action, suspense, good direction and better involvement of the co characters. Above all Tomandandy did an excellent job on the background scores. Ever since i saw the afterlife i was desperately waiting for the next chapter.

I saw it just three days after the it released near where i live. The theater had very less people, surprisingly for a 3d movie. When i saw the whole film i realized that it didn't stick up to all the expectations we had. The whole movie was like a video game, it hardly had any plot. It was all about Alice finding herself trapped in a secret experimenting area and her desperate attempt to escape with new subordinates Ada Wong and a young girl named Becky.

The direction was not up to the mark. I found out so many plot holes here and there which made it little less impressive. That includes Rain being shown as an evil character. Rain Ocampo played by Michelle Rodriguez was one my most favorite character introduced in the first Resident evil movie. She died eventually in it and then she was cloned in the fifth film as an evil character. The final scene where she fights the two men and sheds bullets looked really stupid. That is where the direction failed. Sienna Guillory was terrible. She just can't shown any great emotions on her face. I just can't understand why everybody likes her so much. Her face is just like a doll. Oded Fehr was just a waste of time in the whole thing. I totally despised the way Ada Wong (Li Bingbing) was shown. She was introduced as a slick and manipulative action heroine who always had a plan. Then later on it was shown that her life was under the mercy of the villains. That was seriously a drawback.

Milla Jovovich managed to stick to the core presentation of the character Alice but even she escaped most of the time especially at the end solely out of luck.

The fight scenes completely lost the original standard and looked artificial, all the flipping and jumping was just like the characters in the games. The visual effects was good, but they didn't have the punch. The background also didn't have the punch all the other resident movies (afterlife) did.

The whole movie was a waste of time and the characters and the story was ruined in a way. But if Paul WS Anderson is really planning to make a sequel then I hope he does something to make the whole franchise to look a little convincing.

Best message in a movie ever!!! (especially for this generation)
15 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE FILM

I saw phone booth in bits and pieces, whenever it came on star movies. I became curious. My mom always commented about the intensity and Suspense this movie was bringing up. So my dad and I bought the DVD Later. Dad was reluctant to buy it because; it was a onetime watch. Then I finally saw the film a lot later. The movie was fantastic in a way, because of its message, which is completely necessary for the present generation. That is "Don't you dare cheat on your Partners/spouses. Especially if he/she loves you madly"

I felt like applauding at this idea. This film was about a man, a Publicist names Stu Sheppard (Colin Farrell) who makes up a life by Selling out lies. He keeps mentioning that he has world famous actors For friends and keeps lying to colleagues and add more lies to hide the Others. Thus he looks pretty cool, rich and expensive before everyone that even his assistant wanted to step into his shoes. The worst part of his life is that he is an having an affair with another woman and the fact that he is married is unknown to her. Things were going as he wanted until he answered the phone that rang in a booth where he always visited to call his girlfriend Pam(Katie Holmes).

The caller(Kiefer Sutherland) puts him in a position where he has to offer special obligation for Stu to even breath normally.

The movie is unique in every way. I didn't feel like getting up even for a second until the movie was over. It has the suspense that keeps you at the edge of your seat. The movie takes place within a single locality so literally I am not surprised that they have managed to finish the whole thing within just 12 days. I even wondered if Colin Farrell got tired of standing the whole time. It was pretty confusing on whether the caller was really a super villain. He is and he is not. He is because he caused a lot of problem to the people, police and damaged the property. He killed the pizza guy at the end. He is not a super villain because in a way Stu deserves what he got. He was lying to everyone about him, especially his poor wife and girlfriend, so this caller whoever he is cured him of this weakness. And the people this man killed like the pedophile and the business man deserves to die. Then there is Leon, he deserves what he got as he was a pimp.

I was not happy with the fact that there was too much swear words used though. But yeah i am pretty this film will highlight on how terrible it is to be in the big circle of lies.

Joel Schumacher's direction was really nice. He had a nice vision about the whole thing. He managed to show the seriousness of the situation. I can't imagine anyone other than Colin Farrell in the place of Stu Shepard, the guy who initially shows off and then falls on his knees begging. He has a great talent and should actually do better films than substandard ones like Alexander, Swat etc. Forrest Whitaker shines really well as a frustrated police officer who himself went through a divorce. This was the movie where I actually started noticing him followed by panic room. Radha Mitchelle's character was very nice as Stu's wife. She loved him so much that she had absolutely no hesitation in forgiving Stu for cheating on her. She was also worried about him during the whole episode. Katie perhaps became famous after phone booth. The real crown was Kiefer Sutherland's voice. My dad and I were confused on who's voice was the best among Kiefer Sutherlan, Liam Neeson, Sam Worthington, Morgan Freeman and Harrison Ford.He had the creepiness, the humor and evilness in his voice as he talked thought the phone. He performed basically with his voice alone. He hardly appeared for three minutes at the end. That is another attraction of this film.

I hear mixed reviews, Some find this film silly, other stupid, some say that it is epic, then some loves this film. My best suggestion is that it is definitely worth a watch. You will be in the edge of your seat. Afterall it highlights a good message on relationship with your spouse.

Best among the series....
26 May 2012
The men in black series have improved as it goes on. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones returns as the world'd most favorite MIB agents. But now it is more than that. Agent K is not found missing and Agent J finds him dead for over forty years. At the same time he is found to crave chocolate milk and even snatches one from a four year old kid without even saying please. Then with the help acquaintance he goes back to 1969 where agent K is actually supposed to die. How he prevents it and mystery behind forms the rest of the plot.

The movie has the suspense element that keeps the audience hooked to the screen till the very end. Plot is bigger and better. Each and every scene has something or the other going. The final fights scenes are a lot better compared to the other men in black films. Movie is a lot funnier too.

Will Smith is still the old J that we all know. The person who says funny things when he opens his mouth and all. He is very lively and witty. Everyone will love agent J.

Tommy Lee Jones looked very old. He also appeared less impressive compared to superb performance in men in black 1. His character is shown very vulnerable and fragile.

Josh Brolin was dashing as young agent K. He was spectacular. He talked and moved just like Tommy Lee Jones. His way of dialog delivery was really like Tommy Lee Jones's duplicate.

Others were also good.

The 3D effects were lot better in this film compared to many other best (Avengers, Resident evil afterlife, Wrath of the titans) It is indeed very enjoyable and has to be experienced in 3D at least even once.

Iron man all the way....
27 April 2012
It was a spectacular experience watching this movie in 3D. Without the 3D effects it will only be a still those who love epic action movies. Movie starts off with a very slow pace and then it gathers speed since the entry of iron man.

This movie has a large number of academy awards nominees. Robert Downey Jr; Gwyneth Paltrow; Samuel L Jackson; Jeremy Renner; Mark Ruffalo etc.

It is Robert Downey Jr's movie indeed. He delivered a spectacular performance as a guy who can't help but to tell wits in each and every sentence he says. Th audience loved watching Iron man in action. I was happy with entry of Gwyneth Paltrow as well.

Mark Ruffalo managed to stick to his own personal standard as well. He portrays a man who is very caring, soft and tender but later turns out to be someone who is disastrous to the environment, when he gets angry.

Scarlett Johanssen shined well in this film. She was very flexible in action as well as acting. Her addition made this movie much more thrilling. She look very cool with curled red hair. It is definitely one of her best looks since Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth too was good.

Chris Evans looked a lot different from his earlier films. He managed deliver the maturity his character Captain America needed.

The whole film had a lot of visual effects. The 3d effects mad the movie look more attractive. one can definitely go for the film to look for their favorite super hero. Definitely the fans of Iron man will love the film.

Good but could have been better
25 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I am a big fan of Steven Spielberg. I was looking forward to see this movie. Definitely it was worth it. The movie revolves around a disturbed Chief John Anderton(Tom cruise) who is dealing with his son's loss and wife's separation. He is the member of the precrime who stops the crime from taking place with the help of the precogs who sees the future. The twist of fate occurs when the precogs sees Anderton himself kill a man he has never met. The movie has a solid theme and script. But there were situations where I felt that it could have been a lot better. Including the part where the killer of Anne lively was revealed. Overall the movie has the kind of suspense and it keeps you at the edge of your seat till the movie is over. Tom Cruise was superb as the John Anderton where he is a strong and tough cop on one side and a vulnerable and drug addicted man on the other. Samantha Morton too was good. She looks a lot different in this film. Max Von Sydow too did his part great. Colin Farrell too stuck with his standard. Kathryn Morris looked a lot better when compared to her role Mindhunters. All the fans of Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg will love the film. It will definitely keep you at the edge of your seat. But one may have to see this movie more than once in order to fully understand the plot. It is better not to know the plot at all before you see the film. 8/10

Nice movie for a sequel
26 January 2012
I was very thrilled to know that Kate Beckinsale is returning as Selene in the upcoming underworld film. I loved the first two movies and I wondered how the second was going to be all about. Usually such sequel are unnecessary. The stories are just pushed into the series and finally we feel that, hey that was not necessary. It spoiled the thrill of the first film. But not in this case.

Vampires in the underworld are hundred times more thrilling than the vampires in twilight saga. Kata Beckinsale returns as the beautiful, slick and stylish vampire gal Selene. But yes she has changed a lot. She looks older, yet she is still the same girl in action. New characters and addictions are nice of course. There is sequel yet to come to complete the sequel of this film, I hope it comes soon.

I rather not mention the plot much here. It is any day better to watch the film with absolutely no idea about the theme or the plot.

The visual effects are spectacular. One of the best 3D effects in a film. The dark scenes can be a little distraction for such effects. People who does not enjoy movies taken in the dark need not enjoy this. But in general it is worth a look and all the underworld fans will love this film.

thumbs up for Hayden and Emma...
2 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
this is definitely not a great like people say it is. Scream was good. Good thriller. But I was always against the idea of innocent victims dying for no reason. Or I would just prefer that the victims were blamed for one thing or the other.

But this movie is the second best among the scream movie series. Because this movie had a twist, especially in deter ming who the killer is.

Neve Campbell stuck with Sydney Presscott. She is more braver and tougher in this movie. Courteney Cox and David Arquette too were good.

But the real acting credit should really go to the next generation. Emma Roberts, Hayden Panatierre, Rory Culkin etc.

Emma Roberts was just superb. I became a fan of her after seeing this movie. She is beautiful and brilliant. She does reveal the dark side of her in a very stylish way.

Hayden Panatierre is definitely a very promising actress. I loved the way she performed the scene. "Haloween, Texas chainsaw, dawn of the dead..."

Rory Culkin was a better Villain of course.

This film did have the thriller element that kept you at the edge of your seat till the very end.

Sweet, cute, emotional, catchy
31 December 2011
Thanks to Justin Bieber's never say never i have watched this movie.

Dre parker moves to China with his mother where he meets mei ling and a lot of trouble. To help him overcome these troubles stepped in Mr Han who himself is dealing with a past trauma.

Thr presentation was simple. The story is not extraordinary in any manner. It is simple but still the direction style itself was very nice. some parts are emotional too. especially the scene in the car where Mr Han finally confesses about his past to Dre and the scnen where Dre confronts his mom about their stay in china.

Jaden Smith was fantastic. He has proved that he is the next upcoming superstar. His smile is so sweet that it reminds me of sugar. His kung fu moves are soo smooth and realistic and therefore an exceptional performance from a 12 year old. He looked totally different. Especially from his chubby, bubbly look in pursuit of happiness and the day the earth stood still. The way he presented the character may it be seriously or through comedy or through action.

Jackie Chan was great as Mr Han. He is definitely the most versatile among the kung fu action heroes. He lives throughout the film just with his expressions.

Taraji P Henson's character fascinated me as it reminded me a lot of my mom. The way she talks and behaves. "Dre..... PICK up your jacket"

All others were nice in their own roles.

James Horner's score is very haunting as always. This is one movie I will always want to watch over and over again.

The scenery alone can attract a person.

Don 2 (2011)

Not up to the expectations...
31 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I saw Don and felt that it was not as good as the the original just because of the ending. In the remake Don is shown winning and more powerful. I was not at all happy to see that kind of an ending, until I heard that there was going to be a sequel for don. But no it was equally disappointing. The don was taken more like an award film. It was slow and dialogues were also not that good. But don 2 was faster and had more action scenes but still the ending were don was shown winning was really disappointing.

Not a very inspiring ending and still it had many unexplained points. But if it has another sequel then it doesn't matter.

Shah Rukh Khan was excellent. He has proved that He is THE MOST VERSATILE ACTOR in India. He turned into completely different personality in this movie.

Priyanka Chopra too was good. She is the best action heroine in bollywood. Lara dutta was good in spite of small role.

Songs were not as good the songs in don.

action scenes are very nice and re watchable. 3D effects are not exceptional.

Leo-Scorsese team rocks again
31 December 2011
I watched Departed before shutter island and was fascinated by Leonardo Dicaprio's acting. Then I saw the trailer of Shutter Island. My dad and I waited for the release of the blu ray of this film. I had been a great fan of Leo's since I saw the movie blood diamond, where i have felt that he was robbed of the Oscars.

I haven't seen any other Martin Scorsese's films. After seeing this movie I have declared that he is a great director. He is a genius. Each and every scene was taken artistically and one doesn't get bored.

The story has a lot of twists and turns. At the end we'll be like "Oh my god, how come I didn't see that coming". So it is better not to investigate anything about this film before seeing (if you haven't seen it).

Leonardo DiCaprio's performance is definitely the most notable feature in this film. I wondered why he didn't get the Oscar nomination. even the movie was far better than departed or aviator.

Mark Ruffalo also became one of my most favorite actors. Ben Kingsley was in a standard of his own. He was steadfast and flexible. Michelle Williams was good but was overshadowed by Leo. Patricia Clarkson was good even though she was only there for one scene.

Music was stupendous. I loved the track on the nature by daylight. then the cinematography was exemplary and there were certain shots i loved.

If you love thriller see this. If you are a fan Leonardo Dicaprio, then you MUST see this.

It's been quite a while since I saw a film with my friend and I saw Mission Impossible 4 after months of waiting.

I wanted since I saw the trailer. And it was worth it. The visual effects and everything was good. I just wished that this movie was 3D. Then it would have rocked. The sand storm scene was the best. The sound effects were stupendous. It was like we were in middle of the Sand storm. And the Burj khalifa scene was also breath taking.

Tom Cruise was as usual bright and action loaded as Ethan Hunt. He was steadfast and controlled. His action is one of the best attraction of this film.

Paula Patton was also good. Her role as an action heroine and a charming woman was attractive. She was indeed. (I liked her Hindi)

Jeremy Renner seemed a bit timid first but turned to be as smart as the others later on.

But this movie is definitely also in Simon Pegg's palm. He was just fantastic.

Anil kapoor and others also did their part well.

this is definitely the best among the mission impossible series. If you are an action movie fan do not miss this.

Best 3D experience ever!!!!!
16 April 2011
I saw avatar, Gulliver's travels, piranha, Chronicles of narnia 4step up 3 and resident evil 4 so far. I never enjoyed the others the way i enjoyed this movie. It was incredible and definitely it won't be the same in 2D.

Action scenes were amazing. The knifes come directly towards us. The explosions and everything were really effective. It is also an edge of the seat thriller. I did not like the first or second as they seemed a bit poor comparably.

Milla Jovovich was as usual fantastic. Ali Larter and everyone else were good. The music was excellent. It is the kind of movie that you want to watch over and over again. And it should be experienced in 3D.

Inception (2010)
10/10
Overrated.. yet it is an entertainer that shouldn't be missed
13 April 2011
Dark knight and batman begins were the two movies of Christopher Nolan's i watched before inception. Batman begins was great but I wasn't that thrilled about dark Knight in spite of all the positive reviews it has received. Inception I always thought was a little bit overrated because I don't think it deserved all the Oscar nominations. Except the music category. The music was absolutely mesmerizing. Hans Zimmer is a genius. Some will find this theme a bit ridiculous but the direction alone has turned the movie completely around. I couldn't find a single minute boring. If one is watching a film like this, it should generally watched like a thriller. Not even the theme should be disclosed.

The performances were great from everyone. Leonardo Dicaprio is indeed in a standard of his own. I has Ken Watanabe's best performance ever. Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page were perfect for their roles and the fine trivia behind their combination. They were once competent for the Oscar award once (Marion cotillard won the competition). Joseph Levitt Gordon, Tom Hardy, Dileep Rao and Michael Caine were all good. The music was incredible. Technical aspects were all exemplary.

This movie should be experienced either in an extremely good theater or in a high definition home theater system were you won't have concentration removed in any manner. Watching a low quality print takes the very spirit of movie watching. Which is exactly what will happen to those who watched it on television with so many advertisements.

Inception is indeed one of those different movies that shouldn't missed. Especially by those people who wish to see something different.

Awarapan (2007)
8/10
Beautifully directed
11 January 2010
Shivam(Emraan Hashmi) is an atheist and a criminal as well who went to prison twice for the crime he committed. He works for Daulat Malik to whom he is forever indebted. He is very smart, successful and happy for what he do until he meets Aaliyah(Shreya Saran) and falls in love with her. What she wanted what was to convert him from an atheist to god fearing man so that they can meet after they die, in heaven. Then what happens later changes Shivam's life forever. He also meets Reema(Mrinalini Sharma) Through whom things starts to change drastically.

Bhatts have produced many good movies so far. I saw gangster and felt that it was the film ever taken by the Bhatts. Awarapan has the same standard. I heard the song tera mera rishta first and i loved it and bought the CD. Then i saw the song video and i was fascinated by the direction in songs alone. When i saw i loved it. When we hear the theme or the story from someone we may think that it is nothing but an ordinary mobster story. The direction is stupendous. Mohit Suri can be considered as one of the best in India. Songs are great.Tera mera rishta, Toh Phir aao, Mahiya and Maula Maula are of top class. coming Ro the rest, Everone did well their respective roles. I used to hate Emraan Hashmi in movies like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, gangster, murder etc. Before watching this i saw Raaz the mystery continues where i felt that he was good but he was very good in this. Ashutosh Rana and Ashish Vidyarthi very good as the villains. Mrinalini Sharma seems less lively at some parts at the beginning, she did well especially towards the end. Inspite of having less role even Shreya Saran was good in her role.

The direction and the songs the two most impressive aspects of this film. all those who liked gangster will definitely like this. Awarapan is worth watching as well a s collecting. Beautiful film. 8/10

Good movie
25 November 2009
Jasmeet aka Jazz is a spoiled girl who in spite being born to an Indian couple considers herself a British. She doesn't consider her selves as an Indian until she was taken to her father's village by her father, Where she meets a man who changed her life forever.

The is overall quiet entertaining. It is also trying convey messages regarding the Indian cultures and values. It shows that celebration means not just to go out and have drinks with your friends. The background score is excellent. Salim-Suliaman did a good job. Songs are okay but not too impressive.

Akshay Kumar did well in his role as the 'Funjabi' boy. Katrina Kaif surprisingly delivered a good performance. She suited her role well. She had the British-Indian look and it is there in speech as well. She did have her moments. The movie actually belonged to Rishi Kapoor with his excellent performance. Others also did well.

Overall the movie is worth a watch. 8/10

Singh Is King (2008)
7/10
A worth watch comic movie.
11 October 2009
Singh is king didn't seem worthy to be a box office hit when we see the movie from here and there. But if we see it for the second time from the very beginning till the end we may like it. It has nothing special in it but it can be called an entertainer.

Happy Singh(Akshay Kumar) becomes a big headache to his villagers and they wanted him out. He tries to help but he ends up breaking a television or a pile of pots. The villagers along with Happy's friend turned enemy Rangeela(Om Puri) plans to send Happy to Australia to bring back Lucky(Sonu Sood) who may or may not come. That will keep him out of the village for some time. Happy is good at heart and he gets the chance to reveal it when he becomes 'the king of the underworld' through luck. At the same time he meets the love of his life Sonia(Katrina Kaif) by chance. What he does after he becomes the king and the changes he bring forms the rest of the plot.

The movie is good if we see it as an entertainer. It is funny and humorous. Akshay Kumar was good. Katrina Kaif was okay. She had no big flaws in her part. Her dance is very good. Neha Dhupia was very good and suited her role so did Sonu Sood, Kirron Kher and others. Songs are excellent. Pritam's music direction with the punjabi touch is exemplary. Jee karda and teri ore are the best songs.

Definitely worth a look. 7/10

Om Shanti Om (2007)

Entertaining
28 August 2009
Om shanti om is not a great film but it is an excellent entertaining. No one gets bored from beginning till the very end.

Om prakash makhija (Shah Rukh Khan) is a very successful 'junior artist', who inspires to be a hero one day. His best friend Pappu (Shreyas Talpade) supports him by praising his talent and style. Even his mother (Kirron Kher) encouraged him to be a hero by saying 'Tum ek din zaroor hero banega' (You will definitely be a hero one day). Om is madly in love with the super star of that time ShantiPriya (Deepika Padukone) and even meets her one day luckily. But unluckily after learning a secret about hers he lands in trouble.

The photography is excellent. There are many notable and catchy shots. The art direction is incredible. Lot's of effort was taken in creating the settings especially for the song dhoom Tana. Editing and sound are of notable features. Songs are stupendous. Ajab Si, deewangi, dhoom Tana are exemplary. The performances are good from all actors. Shah Rukh Khan as usual shines in his role. Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade and Kirron kher did well in their respective roles. And Arjun Rampal is a wonderful villain. . The new comer Deepika Padukone is very in all aspects and she deserves all the awards she is getting. The most catchy part of this film is the song sequence deewangi deewangi where thirty one stars appear.

Go watch it!!! all those who likes Shah Rukh and entertaining films will definitely like this.

Fashion (2008)
7/10
A realistic film.
25 August 2009
Bollywood movie industry has started making realistic films. This movie explores the world of fashion and all those who wish to be model won't get inspired after watching this film. "In the world of fashion you have to compromise more than just your morals." Models here are alcoholics and drug addicts.

Meghna Mathur (Priyanka Chopra) is a small town middle class girl who wants to be a model, especially after winning a beauty contest. After many procedures she becomes one and many problems starts to occur.

Movie is directed well with lots of effort from the cast and the crew. Costumes are all nice showing the present day fashion. Priyanka Chopra surprisingly delivered a good performance. She has taken a lot of effort for role. Kangna Ranaut's role was more challenging and she pulled it off easily. The newcomer Mugda Godse also did her part well.

The songs are good and the background score is excellent. The title music of fashion is stupendous. Overall it is a good movie especially towards the end. The last one hour is the best in this film.

Jodhaa Akbar (2008)
8/10
Nice story but full of unnecessary dragging
24 August 2009
The movie is based on the time during the mughal dynasty. Jallaludin Mohammed Akbar is one of the most powerful rulers. He was crowned at a very young age. Years later he married a Rajput princess Jodhaa (Aiswarya Rai) who happens to be in a different religion. They try to be good and comfortable with each other that's when more problems arise from the enemies.

Jodhaa Akbar has a good storyline but has unnecessary dragging. The movie lasts for about three and half hours in that manner. And it was completely unnecessary. Like Hrithik Roshan takes about five minutes to go from one room to another. And during the wedding scene Aiswarya Rai is sitting there and the camera pans in taking about five minutes. Only in the second half the film becomes more lively.

Songs are excellent like jashn e bahara, khwaja mere khwaja. They had that touch of the old days including the lyrics. A.R Rahman did well in both song's music direction as well as the background score. The performance were very good from all the actors. Overall Jodhaa Akbar is a good movie. It is not an entertainer. Fans of Hrithik Roshan and Aiswarya Rai will like this film. 8/10

A good entertainer
24 August 2009
Bachna ae haseeno is one of those films i have seen after days of waiting. And it turned out to be a good entertainer. It is better than Siddharth Raj Anand's previous two films Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra rum pum.

Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) meets three different girls in his life and actually falls for only one of them. Radhika (Bipasha Basu), Mahi (Minisha Lamba) and Gayathri (Deepika Padukone) were those either lucky or unlucky girls.

Bollywood films may it be action or horror or thriller will have a love story in them. This film concentrates more in the love story and it is different from the others too. The cinematography is good, script is good and the songs are excellent. Vishal and Shekhar did marvellously in music direction. They are the kind of songs that you would like to hear again and again. Khuda Jane is a haunting melody and songs like Luky boy, aahista and small town girl are exemplary.

Ranbir Kapoor acted well in this film as a 'lucky boy'. I am happy to see Deepika Padukone again after om shanti om. Bipasha Basu was good. Minisha Lamba wasn't as charming as the other two but hers is the best character in the film.

Songs were shot well. Small town girl is quiet funny to watch. Khuda Jane was taken in a beautiful place. Watch it especially for the songs and the places where the movie was shot (Australia, Switzerland etc..)
