I Care a Lot (2020)
Unsatisfying Ending
I hate Marla and her S/O. I was eagerly awaiting their deaths at the hands of Peter Dinklage. That moment did not come. The movie does a wonderful job of setting you up to hate Marla. I mean, wow. You are constantly rooting for the other team, even though the other team is just as bad. But then... It just stops. You're watching things come to a head, waiting for the explosion and instead you get a poof of air and tiny pop. Just... It was so unsatisfying!!
I gave 5 stars for the hook, I had to take 5 stars for the end.
Walker (2021)
Predictable
I was pretty excited to watch this. But... It flamed out pretty quickly. Once they killed my favorite character in season 1, I was finished. I saw the whole thing coming three miles away and I am so pissed about it. There's not much crime work involved, it's a LOT of family dribble drama. The daughter is god awful stupid and the son's not much better. There's just nothing in the show for me. There's not a good balance between work and family time... And really, the whole thing has Gilmore Girls vibes. I wanted to love this show and see Jared P. Kick some ass, but that is not happening.
Downsizing (2017)
Bored
It's boring. I've been bored for an hour and three minutes (and 26 seconds) and I keep waiting for the movie to pick up and it's not.
I'm bored.
Lassie Come Home (1943)
Rough
Lassie was before my time, so I thought I would give this movie a try. This movie was PAINFUL. The dog acting was amazing, Pal did a splendid job, along with pup who played Toots. The movie itself is too violent for dog lovers (or maybe just me). I could have handled it if it was JUST Lassie, I mean, obviously, she's the hero, but Toots dying was horrid and the dog fight terrible, and Pal was shot (perhaps not with a bullet) but those skid marks and the way his hind end moved in one direction while his front went the other... That's an animal getting shot with some force. The movie was just very cringey for me and the animal cruelty was too much, even if some of it was just acting.
Halloween II (2009)
Bad, Bad, Bad
Ok, I LOVE horror and with the exception of Halloween 4 (the one about the masks and not Michael), I love all of the Halloween movies. But this one. What. The. Hell. It was a nonsensical mess. There was absolutely no art to it. Lumbering psycho, cue killing. No story, no suspense, and what the hell was with the ghosts?? I mean, ghost horse was pretty, but had NOTHING to do with anything. Honestly, this movie is just trash. Trash acting, trash actors, all of it. Not even the deaths were good. At one point, I'm pretty sure he just starts punching people to death, rage issues much, Rob Zombie? The true Michael isn't angry, he's a calm, cold psycho, no emotions.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Nice
Ok, let me start off by saying I *HATE* musicals. Hate them. But this is not your typical musical and I actually enjoyed it. The story behind it was great, even if facts were skewered. Hugh Jackman (he has yet to disappoint me, LOVE him) was spectacular, as was Zac Effron (and I don't care about him either way). I am a very hard person to please when it comes musicals and I recorded this and watched it several times since. The Other Side song is stuck in my head constantly and never have I ever wanted a rope playground so much. The thing about this movie is that the songs aren't your typical musical numbers and you have a stellar cast. I enjoyed this new style of songs very much, it definitely helped in keeping my interest.
