NCIS: Los Angeles: Code of Conduct (2020)
One Request after 11 years
I just watched the last episode shown Sunday the 26th. I really enjoy this NCIS show, as I enjoy the other two entries. The characters are all special in their own way. (especially Henrietta over the years!)
But I only have one problem.... and that is Deeks' (sp?) hair!! Have him grow up and get a damn haircut! It always looks dirty and unkempt. He looks like "Who-did-it-and-ran?"
9-1-1: Sink or Swim (2019)
WOW!
Last week's episode ended with a tsunami on the California coast, which led to tonight's show, and it was certainly worth the wait!, It was an intense episode, to be sure, with excellent work by the entire cast. But it was very powerful, with life or death on the line at every turn. I don't know how this was filmed, but the tsunami and it's aftermath seemed so very real. Kudos to the entire cast and crew and the director of this episode. (And I think there might be one more part to this storyline!). If you missed it, I hope you have HULU or On Demand....or wait for next summer's reruns.
Blue Bloods (2010)
Still a favorite after nine seasons!
I really enjoy this show, love the family interactions and the entire cast. The plots seem to be ripped from the headlines and hook you right away. However, I have to say this....maybe it's just me, but I cannot tolerate Danny's attitude about almost everything and everyone! He is especially difficult with his sister, Erin. They come from different perspectives of the law, but he always has to be right! Why the writers have made Danny so arbitrary is a bit upsetting to me. (But Wahlberg is fabulous in this role!)
The family dinners are great, and the topics timely. At the end of the show, problems are discussed calmly (most of the time) with dad and grandpa settling things down nicely. But I can't believe they all have dinner together every Sunday!! Just seems a bit hard to swallow. Don't they ever have something else they need to do?? I don't mean to criticize the show, just had to mention a few points that get to me.
Big Brother (2000)
THIS is what TV has come to??
Now, I never watch reality TV, because I don't believe it's totally unscripted. And I only watched ten minutes of this show while waiting for SWAT to come on. So this review may not count for many of you....but I will never understand what people see in watching young people trash others, plot against them, talk about them behind their backs, even knowing they'll see this on the show! It's utter crap, and it bothers me how popular all these shows have become. (And who was that idiot wearing that pointy hat and romping around the house while using some sort of a loud horn???) THIS IS QUALITY TV??
I can't even believe this show has sponsors!
The Edge of Seventeen (2016)
Awkward?? It's more than that.
The movie is still playing, but I have wanted to turn it off several. times. I'm really trying to like it, as so many of the reviewers do. They say it's a coming of age story about an awkward girl trying to navigate high school, and it's so honest and real, etc. But this girl isn't just awkward. She is seriously in need of help. She has had only one friend in her whole childhood and a great relationship with her dad. But had he lived longer, would he have seen what was happening? Nadine is seriously depressed, anxious, socially awkward, and hates herself. The mother is useless and never realizes that her daughter needs counseling..
I know it's just a movie, but I'm very aware of the warning signs of mental illness. The writers and producers, however, don't seem to. As in all movies, I'm sure there will be a quick and happy ending. Can't wait to see it. But in real life It's not so easy.
On the plus side, Hailee Steinfeld is amazing in a difficult role!
NCIS: Los Angeles: Till Death Do Us Part (2019)
Disappointing
I have only written a review of a show once before, but I simply had to say the following:
For ten seasons the relationship between Deeks and Kensi has been developing slowly. Women who watch this show were anxious for them to finally admit their feelings and get together. The wedding was hyped and we couldn't wait for this day. Actually, I'm watching the show as I write this. I could not wait before stating how disappointing, actually silly, it is. Deeks was incredibly annoying with his "am I doing the right thing" attitude, breathing heavily to calm down, etc. It's the night before the wedding and he's not sure? The rest of the story was incredibly stupid, filled with characters who were not important. (The Russian guy was annoying). The wedding of the season deserved a little more seriousness and attention than the last few minutes of the episode. It was treated more like a joke, with Kensi fighting off paid assassins in her wedding gown two minutes before the ceremony....of course, ripping the bottom of her gown off! Really?! This is the best they could do for a show that has been consistently good for 10 years?
Will You Merry Me? (2008)
Who wrote the Trivia section??
If someone wants to review something, that's fine. But PLEASE try to use proper grammar! The first trivia has every THEIR, THEY'RE, and THERE used incorrectly. THEIR symbolizes possessions....their home, their children, their idea. THEY'RE is simply a contraction of two words...they and are...THEY'RE coming, THEY'RE outside. THERE is a place....look over there, put it down there.
End of lesson. Sorry if you're offended, but this is taught in grammar school!
