Excision (2012)
Disturbing, dark film
Great casting, creepy storyline, and very surreal visuals. John Waters' character was a pleasant surprise. There were a few silly/over the top moments (not referring to the daydream sequences), but overall this is a great movie.
American Mary (2012)
One of my all-time favorites
Very unique and interesting premise. Good special effects and a cool soundtrack. Re-watchable and definitely an all-time favorite.
À l'intérieur (2007)
I LOVED this movie
French horror is my new favorite genre because of this film. It was captivating and entertaining throughout, not a dull moment. The lead villain is beautiful and terrifying. I highly recommend this.
Ginî piggu 2: Chiniku no hana (1985)
Pretty good special effects for its time
Believable gore for an '80s movie. I can see why Charlie Sheen thought it was a real snuff film. One of the better Japanese extreme horror (not silly or even overly-sleazy).
Tetsuo (1989)
I enjoyed this
Trippy cyberpunk movie that is only slightly tedious. Definitely a different type of film. I don't like to give away spoilers or explain too much because I think it's best if you just see it for yourself.
Enter the Void (2009)
Very trippy and cool premise
The story is surreal, exciting, and weird in all the right ways. I've watched it more than twice, that's how much I enjoyed it. Probably not a good idea to watch it on acid though. Lol.
Slaughtered Vomit Dolls (2006)
Interesting and different (to say the least)
Obviously the subject matter is vomit fetish, so you know what you're walking into with this one. I actually found the storyline to be surreal and symbolic, like watching a nightmare. Not something you'd want to watch with your family, but not entirely unwatchable if you're in a weird mood and want to challenge your psyche.
Carcinoma (2014)
Better than Dora's other stuff
Not as drawn-out as The Angel's Melancholy (I apologize for butchering the title). I also didn't find this tedious. The music was effective, the movie is sad, and makes you care about the main character. I agree with the other reviewer saying this is Dora's better work.
Srpski film (2010)
Overly-hyped
I checked this out because I heard how notorious it is. I understand it's supposed to be disturbing/shocking disguised as a "political statement", but it was just too silly and over the top to be taken seriously, thus making it less shocking and defeating the purpose.
Chad (2021)
Falls short
I gave it a try because the pilot was kind of interesting. The sarcasm reminds me of Eastbound & Down, but some of the situations are too absurd to be funny, and the main character is just not likeable. His friend Peter is a better character. The awkwardness is just not believable. This could have potential if it was smarter rather than silly.
