Hush (2016)
Bit silly.
Not scary. About a man trying toying with a woman he has seemingly randomly decided to kill after coming across her cabin in the woods. Oddly the killer seemed unable to break glass. Guy believing killer is cop was hilarious. Whilst lady is spending forever trying to load a crossbow. Would have been good if the killer had more story. Well shot though.
Hellraiser: Hellseeker (2002)
Kirsty is back
But mostly it's about a confused man whom every lady tries to sleep with. Or do they? I really don't know.
Hellraiser: Inferno (2000)
Hellraiser noir
Max Payne played by a budget David Boreanaz in a Christmas carol. Not sure why it's called Inferno. There was no fire. There were a lot of indoor blizzards. Pinhead is barely in it.
Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
Good effects but a bit nonsense
Hellcube makes the naughty cinobites come. Horror ensues. Cube makes them go away. How did the girl know her evil step mother would come back because of the stained mattress?
Unhinged (2020)
Fun fat CARnage
Falling Down meets Hitcher. But not quite as good. Still fun though.
The Foreigner (2017)
Enthralling revenge action thriller
Went in not expecting much but was hooked from the opening. Got to watch Jackie Chan play Rambo. Recommend for fans of Taken and Bourne.
Demolition Man (1993)
Target audience?
Very silly but with lots of violence and swearing. Nothing great in the story.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Vague and drawn out
Nothing is clarified. It looks nice though. Although the outdoor scenes look like they were filmed in a studio. Why couldn't they at least make their breath visible. The film suddenly ends as if they gave up.
Anna (2019)
What's happening.
What year is it set? The technology in the film jumps between 80s and present day.
What's the story? A lady killing people sometimes and also being a model whilst ignoring her girlfriend and sleeping with other men. I think Luc Besson made this movie to film an attractive woman running around in underwear.
Turistas (2006)
Good looking but not much substance
Everything looks nice, the people, the locations, underwater scenes, but it just wasn't a very engrossing.
Late Phases (2014)
Old blind man Vs werewolves
With his sharpened shovel.
Bit slow but decent climax.
Redwood (2017)
Decent Frightfest film
I watched it not reading anything about the plot and enjoyed not knowing what was going to happen, I also didn't pay attention to the first 5 minutes which apparently has a spoiler. Good monster-in-the-woods horror. Nothing special. I wouldn't call it a vampire movie. I liked the photography.
You Should Have Left (2020)
Could have been better
I feel like the script could have done with some trying. The time travely bits didn't make sense. Writing in his own journal from the future when he knows he'll ignore it. Wales not having taxis. The walls not being at right angles. Himself whispering to his daughter at the beginning. Also lots of it felt like he should have been saying "this wouldn't have happened with EE" as I now know him for those adverts.
Pâfekuto burû (1997)
Physiological thriller / slasher
I enjoyed this movie as it reminded me of 90s slasher movies but with a psychological thriller aspect akin to Black Swan. The attention to detail on the cinematography makes it feel more mature than other animes I've seen.
Anthology of Terror: Prelude (2010)
Low budget and quite dull
The stories don't make much sense. It's very low budget. Some bits are laughably bad but not enough for it to be worth watching.
New Chilling Tales: The Anthology (2019)
Amusing first tale
I found the first tale of this anthology of New Chilling Tales: The Anthology, amusing, because it felt very cheap and poorly scripted, and I appreciate that. The second tale felt like a bit more was spent on it so it was no longer so bad it's funny, it just bored me.
Overlord (2018)
Too long
I feel this would have been more enjoyable if it was shorter. The first half felt unnecessary.
