Leave the World Behind (2023)

I thought it would never end

The dumbest least communicative people left on the planet get stuck in a house together. There is some racial tension. The movie loses momentum really quick and then becomes a moronothon of people choosing over and over again to make the worst possible choice. This movie was painful. Such great actors, great camera work. Visually very nice. The story had so much potential. The writing fell off fast. The plot also got lost in getting from beginning to end. It's similar to this review. Drones on and on and wishing it would end seeing to have no more point yet here we are begging for it to be done and over.

Comes out strong first few episodes then becomes a snoozer. Writing gets worse and worse and what should be an easy story to tell as is and be intriguing. It's like they spent all their time money and good efforts in the beginning and then let it go. I can see why Tyson doesn't appreciate the D level effort. Can't wait to see a well done version of this done soon. He's got lots of bad parts of his life but the sloppy way they did some of these come across more as hit piece than unbiased story telling. They made the story of one of the most interesting people in the last 50 years boring. That's almost impressive.

The Offer (2022)

This show was a masterpiece. The writing the way it transports you to being there. Would have been a 10 but Colin hanks can't act and I'm not sure when the world will quit putting him in things. But literally everything else is perfect in this show.

Man of Steel (2013)

This isn't a Superman movie

They basically rebranded war of the worlds/ Independence Day as well as totally used a scene from Thor. Amy Adams and Michael Shannon are great actors but casting misses for this movie in those roles. You take Superman completely out of this movie and you just have literally every other alien invasion movie. The Superman parts are so minimal to the story. Sad this is what they envisioned as a Superman movie. Supergeneric is the only super thing about it.

So animated teenwolf. That's a read animal. Not a terrible thing but pretty obvious you just ripped of the amazing Michael J Fox movie. Meh. There's no one surfing on the top of a van so I guess that makes it different. Definitely not something that makes it better.

If renner wasn't in this show instead of a 7 I'd give it a 4. The plot and story and the pacing aren't very good. It also has many aspects that make it go from gritty to ridiculous. It's cast well. But lots of it seems forced and incongruent.

This episode was lazy writing

Now I get that nothing in these shows is close to believable. But this was just lazy writing with pulling this story together. It didn't even have suspense. It just made me wish it was over.

Just rename it and call it something new. It's not Cinderella. You don't have to remake everything just make a new story (which was what they did) and you'll get better results and accomplish the plan that was intended with all the messaging that was subtle like a sledge hammer.

This is like one of those movies you buy that only are at truck stops. It's not even related or like the other movies. And the fact that it exists is like finding a new variant of COVID. Variant garbage.

If you struggle falling asleep watch this show. It's a plodding beating of a show. Anything's rated higher than a 5 is paid for. This is the worst in a day and age of options.
