Crawl (2019)
Right up there with Lake Placid
Crawl is an amazing horror and thriller movie that will keep you moving. I feel like this movie is a very intense one. There's a lot of layers added to this movie. Not only the special effects. But you have quite a bit of character development and likable characters. This movie is one that a lot of people will like, if you're a big movie buff, and you love the movies, Jaws and Lake Placid, this one will make you terrified of the concept of Alligators coming to get you during the worst hurricane storms imaginable. This movie is well scripted and takes you through a lot of different emotions. It's very dark but at the same time even when there's suspenseful and intense scenes, you feel bad for the characters and hope that they make it out alive. The whole story that has to do with a woman rescuing her dad during a terrible category 5 hurricane which lures out the alligators that live within the Florida Swamps is a very heartfelt one. This is a movie that has a great look and is filled with style. True movie buffs will like this film and will find it to be one of the best movies that feature horrifying large alligators.

The Lords of Salem (2012)
Garbage filmmaking
What we have here folks, is terrible filmmaking. It is clear that Rob Zombie didn't have his heart in the project when he made this movie. As a Rob Zombie fan and horror fan, I'm very disappointed that this is what Rob Zombie gave his fans for a horror movie. After I watched this movie, it is very clear that Rob Zombie doesn't care about movie reviews from either the critics or the audience. If he wants to ignore the professional film critics that's completely fine. But he better be paying attention to the audience member reviews. The movie buffs, the horror fans and his own fans are the ones who make or break his movies. I hope he wises up and listens to what his fans want. There really is no story in this movie, just improv scenes that are all smashed together and make no sense. If I had to pick which one of Rob Zombie's movies is the worst, this is the one. To me there is no story, only movie script pages filled with pointless dialogue and a bunch of weird effects that makes this movie very unusual and unappealing to the viewer. I don't recommend this one, and I suggest that all of the other movie buffs and horror fans find a different horror movie, which has substance and some meaning, that tells a great story that is terrifying. This is the kind of filmmaking and the type of movie that only screams: "I want your time and money, now give it to me!" The scenery is also weird and strange, the cinematography is gritty and nasty looking, not only that but i]the look of the film is filthy. Any Joe blow can make a pointless horror film like this one; I didn't understand the ending at all. I need someone to explain to me what this movie was about, because to me it was nothing but random scenes to fill in the screen time. This movie clearly had no plan and it looked like this movie only took two or three days shoot. This is a hunk of trash that needs to be thrown out in the garbage cans outside of every true movie buffs' and horror fan's houses.
31 (2016)
A Rob Zombie movie that works
After I saw Rob Zombie's other films, Halloween 2 2009 and The Lords of Salem, which were his two worst movies, with The House of a House 1,000 Corpses trilogy being the best, I decided to watch this one. This is one of the few Rob Zombie movies that actually work, and I enjoyed watching this one. Sheri Moon Zombie did a lot better job in her role this time around than she did in the two Halloween films. The special effects were amazing and the wardrobe designer did a a great job with the costuming, and the makeup is terrifying. The only thing that I didn't like in this movie, is the Nazi little person that Rob Zombie had to add for some unknown reason. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. This is scripted well and directed well. It's a trillion times better than The Lords of Salem. I do recommend this movie if you're a Rob Zombie fan. If you're a horror fan, I still recommend it. But just know that not everything that Rob Zombie does is worth seeing. This is one movie out of many that he got right. His worst movies are The Lords Of Salem and Halloween 2 2009. I was a bit skeptical about 31 in the beginning, because Rob Zombie talked about crowdFunding the picture. I have always pictured that movie buffs and horror fans only have two jobs, which are to watch the movies and then write about the movies. Such as reviewing them and writing articles about them. Rob Zombie has done some great work, but that's only about 2% of the movies he has done. I look forward to watching and reviewing Rob Zombie's newest film, The Munsters when it comes out this fall (2022)

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
A Movie that got to much hype
There's not much to say about this movie. It does have a good story, but it's another Tom Cruise movie. The first film is great; but this movie contains some of the old stuff that we've seen before. A bunch of fancy flying and character development that takes up most of the screen time. The scripting and the directing could've been a bit better. The flying scenes are all over the place, some look very realistic and other scenes look a bit cheesy. This kind of was shot in a Mission Impossible style, which I really wasn't crazy about. The acting was good, but the performances alone weren't enough for me to give this movie anything higher than a 5 and 1/2. This could've been a great sequel, if it was more carefully planned out and didn't have as much cheesy scripting. A lot of people love this movie and that's great. Like I said, this movie is good, but it's not something that I'm gonna jump up and down about. I only recommend this movie to viewers who love airplane movies and tv shows.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
The last Jurassic movie is epic!!!
I'm very shocked and surprised that there's a lot of negative reviews about this movie. This movie contains great CGI work, a story that brings the franchise to a close, and combining the old cast with the newer cast. Christ Prat and Bryce Dallas Howard out did there performances from the past two Jurassic World movies and made sure that they gave this movie their all. I saw this movie on June 9th, and I believe that this is a movie that should be loved and cherished. The screenwriters and the director did a great job at ending the franchise, unless another filmmaker will picks up this franchise. This movie is made for everyone, kids, teenagers and adults. Everyone should find this movie amazing. This is just as good as the first two movies. I think viewers now a days love to complain about everything. Jurassic World Dominion has everything that a Jurassic Park movie should have in it. Anyone who says this movie is terrible, needs to rewatch it.
Us (2019)
A Horror movie with some strange twists
I would like to first state that the horror movie Us, is a lot better than the Candyman remake. This movie is focused on telling a scary story. This movie is very entertaining, but there are some problems with it. Firstly, some of the Tethered people who can't talk and only moan sound like dinosaurs and creatures. This makes some of the movie laughable, and some viewers will be scratching their heads. The second one is some of the twists, one twist was scary and shocking, but the other twists didn't make much sense. Jordan Peele did and awesome job with he special effects, makeup and costuming. The cinematography reminded me of the 2008 movie, The Strangers. This movie is well paced, and has a purpose as a horror movie. But this is one of the movies where you like it or don't like it. I was able to get passed some of the movies flaws, and was able to enjoy it for what it is. It's well made, but it can't compete with other horror movies out there. But as horror movie it will entertain the vast majority of viewers. I give this movie a 7 & 1/2. I can't give it a full 8, because even though the directing and scripting is done well, the movie has flaws that some viewers won't be able to get past. Jordan Peele is a great filmmaker, and I do recommend that he does more horror movies. The more horror movies Jordan Peele does the more he will improve on the horror filmmaking craft.
There are a lot of brutal killings and scary scenes that will probably give people who don't like horror movies nightmares for a few weeks or 2 months.

The Green Inferno (2013)
Classic Horror Delivered By Eli Roth
In this movie that is written, directed and produced by Eli Roth, a woman, Justine, played by Lorenza Izzo, joins a group of activists who go into the Amazon jungle to protest and save a native tribe that is about to be destroyed. Once captured, they must try to escape from the cannibal native tribe members. This movie is very graphic and gory, like the Saw movies. I recommend that you watch this only if you are a Horror fan/Eli Roth Fan. I felt a bit scared and disturbed during some parts, this is a movie that is not for everyone; but it worked for me. The photography is good, the acting is top notch and the special effects, makeup and costuming are all done to perfection. The Green Inferno is a lot better than the Cannibal Holocaust movie, which I have no plans to rewatch that film. The Green Inferno contains a very simple story, and is a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the movie. Unfortunately Eli Roth hasn't written or directed his own movies in quite some time. This movie impressed me a lot. I would definitely help Eli Roth out in making another horror movie. He has my utmost support, and I'm a fan of his. For the most part he does a great job. I love the way he scripted this movie. The directing was a little off at times, making some of the scenes over the top. But this movie is a lot better than Knock Knock and I do recommend this movie for anyone who is looking to be scared and entertained. The editing of this movie is great. I'm sure this movie had to be cut down a smidge to get an R rating instead of an NC-17. This is a horror movie that is aimed primarily towards Millennials. Eli Roth did a good job with this one, which is why he's one of my favorite favorIte horror movie directors, writers and producers of all time.
I just want to let everyone know, if you're not a horror fan and you don't like graphic gore, then this movie isn't for you. But it will be very entertaining to most millennials.
Halloween (2018)
The Closest Halloween film to the original 1978 movie
This movie is as close to the original Halloween movie that viewers are going to get. David Gordon Green keeps the cinematography as far as style goes, true to what John Carpenter did in the original movie that was made 44 years ago. The casting for this movie was great, and I love how David and the casting director decided to go with an unknown actress to play the role of Laurie Strode's granddaughter. Judy Greer is awesome as Karen and just like I said in my movie review of Halloween Kills, this movie also has amazing special effects and stunts. I really like how the cast members do their own stunts, instead of having a stunt double do them. This movie contains scenes that are scripted and directed so well, you will feel the intensity of suspense creep up your spine until the very end. The kill scenes are well done, with some more graphic and bloodier than others. This Halloween movie respects the original 1978 film, while bringing new elements for the audience and viewers of the 21st to see. In my opinion it should be a great movie to watch for both older and newer Halloween Fans and Horror Fans alike. This movie ignores all of the Halloween sequels, even Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later, and is a direct sequel to Halloween 2 (1981) Jason Blum and David Gordon Green did amazing job on this movie, and they are very talented filmmakers and producers, who know how to entertain people without disrespecting John Carpenters original Halloween legacy.

Halloween Kills (2021)
THE BEST HALLOWEEN SEQUEL WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME
I know a lot of Halloween fans and Horror fans will disagree with my review. But Halloween Kills is the Halloween sequel that I desperately wanted to see. Perfect kills, and a storyline that holds its' own with incredible special effects. Three dimensional characters that carry the story from start to finish. This groundbreaking Halloween film is perfectly shot and beautifully made. With screenwriters and a director who know perfectly well what they're doing. The openIng hooks you in and you want to keep watching until the very end when the credits roll. This movie sucked me in, and I couldn't help but ask myself at the very end, "what's gonna happen with Halloween Ends?" The scenes are crafted with creativity that only a true horror filmmaker can do. Jason Blum has done amazing so far with the two Halloween films that he has done so far. It's an incredible sequel that true Halloween fans won't want to miss; Lots of original characters return and three of my favorite returning characters are Tommy Doyle, Lonnie Elam and Lindsay Wallace. Kyle Richards did an amazing job reprising her role, and I love how she became a strong woman and took on Michael Myers at one point. I won't giving any scenes or anything major away. The basic story is about how Michael Myers survives the fire that Laurie Strode had set for him in the previous film and continues his bloody rampage, while Tommy Doyle and the entire town come up with a plan and try to kill Michael Myers once and for all. The town mob in this movie brought back memories of Halloween 4, although the mob in this movie is very different. I think the only reason why most Halloween fans don't like this sequel is because it's a lot bloodier and gorier than Halloween 2018, which was also produced by Jason Blum. I love the cinematography and how it still holds true to the original Halloween film while still bringing new scares. For the audience/viewers of the 21st century.
My rating score: 8 & 1/2 stars.
Scream (2022)
A Sequel that Scream Fans definitely needed
Scream 5 (2022) is a sequel that I had been advocating since seeing Scream 4 back in 2011. I wrote to Wes Craven before he passed away, and low and behold a 5th Scream film had been made after talking it through. With the production companies and the cast and crew; This movie brings us full circle, and brand new characters have been created here. I really love the opening scene which to me pays a tribute to the original 1996 film. Scream 5 is well crafted, written and directed. I saw Jenna Ortega in the Disney channel show, Stuck in the middle, and I loved seeing her in this movie as Tara Carpenter. The basic outline for the story of this movie is how a GhostFace copycat serial killer dons the mask and starts killing a group of teenagers whose relatives are tied to the original 1996 Woodsboro murders. One thing that I incredibly love about this movie is the special effects. While staying true to what Wes Craven did with the previous Scream movies, 1- 4, the 5th movie is quite bloodier than the previous 4, but at the same time it is still scary and terrifying enough to leave you speechless, and with wonderment of how they did all of the special effects. Be sure to check out the behind the scenes footage to find that out. As a movie buff and horror fan, I'm very happy that Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette returned for the 5th film. This movie contains a lot o twists and turns and it will keep you guessing who the killers are until the very end. From all of the horror movies I've seen, I knew who the first killer was, but the second killer revealed took me by complete surprise. I highly recommend this movie for horror fans and scream fans alike. It is definitely awesome to see fresh characters and brand new actors and actresses. This writers and the director did an amazing job with Scream 5. I look forward to watching and reviewing Scream 6 next year in 2023. My review is spoiler free, so to find out more about what happens, watch the movie, you surely won't be disappointed.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
A Been There Done That Gore Fest.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw is very predictable, in every way possible. Even if you come across this movie from the library, you need too skip this one. There are no scares, and when the scares are supposed too come in, you see them coming. The story follows Detective Zeke Banks, who is partnered with a rookie detective who is still in training, and trying too live up too be the kind of detective that his dad, Marcus Banks was, when he first began as a police officer. Chris Rock portrays Zeke Banks, and Samual L. Jackson plays the role of Marcus Banks. This one of the films where we've seen what happens before, and it's just a bunch of blood, gore and gruesome violence shoved right in our faces. The part that was super bad was the ending, which I won't give away, cause this review doesn't contain any spoilers. The special effects are gruesome and we've seen the exact same special effects play out from the last Saw pictures. This is an utter mess and I have no clue as too who would enjoy such a movie. There's 1,050 reviews from other movie buffs and amateur online film critics. I hope that most people have some taste and realize just how awful this movie really is. It's not entertaining and it's a movie that I say skip for all intensive purposes. The whole premise and theme of the movie is the exact same at the other Saw films, Spiral doesn't bring anything new too the franchise, and I'm hoping that this will be the last Saw film that there is. There's got too be movie buffs out there who have commonsense and know that this is a movie.that you really need too skip. The cinematography is edgy and it has the same style as the other Saw films. I really think that the Saw movies should've ended after Saw III. This is a great movie too put in a lack of better words a perfect example of how you can have some big named stars, but the stars aren't terrific because the director and the movie script writer didn't do a good job with the story at all. Too me both the acting and the story go hand in hand. You have too have an amazing story too have great acting, and this movie is just a repeat of the same stuff that we've been getting since Saw 4 (2007). Thumbs down on this one.

Shivers (1975)
A BORING ADDICTIVE SEX MOVIE, ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITH A SICK AND TWISTED MIND.
Star rating: 1/2 star
Shivers tells the story of parasites that take over people's bodies and turns them into blood thirsty sex machines. David Cronenberg wrote and directed this awful and gruesome picture. I really am wondering back in the 70s why this horror film got an R rating instead of an
NC-17 rating. I've looked into the making of this film and have watched interviews with David Cronenberg. But after hearing what he had to say, I officially have to tell every moviegoer out there as a film buff and amateur film critic, I didn't like this movie one bit. The start of it is very gory and has a rape scene in the beginning that's very gory. Then farther on there are many bloodbath scenes that should've been cut out. Canadian Film Development Corporation is the studio that made this movie possible. It deserves an NC-17 rating for sure. The blood isn't the only thing that's terrible though, the plot of the film Doesn't contain a real story at all, it's all about people running around turning others into sex zombies who are already infected by the parasites that had gotten into their bodies. The film is shot in an amature film school way, and this is just pure terrible and horrendous piece of junk at its' finest. This is a perfect example of a horror film that moviegoers should not see. This isn't for anyone to see. The ending doesn't make sense and it left me wondering why I started to watch this film in the first place. I actually skipped to the very end because I was dying from boredom. Paul Hampton plays Roger St. Luc, Joe Silver plays the role of Rollo Linsky and Lynn Lowry plays Nurse Forsythe. All of the stars of the movie should be disappointed in themselves for being in such a terrible movie. There is a scene where Lynn Lowry shows her breasts, and it seemed to be a scene that was there for the men in the audience to jump up and high five each other because they wanted to see some nudity in the picture. Lots of parts should've been taken out of the movie because of stupidity with gore content. I don't recommenced that anyone sees this this picture. Roger Ebert would probably tear this movie apart as well. There is nothing within "Shivers" that is worth while or even worth seeing. Don't get it for free and certainly don't buy it. If people think the Saw movies are bad, this one is 100% the worst horror film I have ever seen so far in my life. The costuming doesn't matter and the acting is try hard, truly fake and unrealistic. Only people who have no common sense will watch this. Those moviegoers and movie buffs need to get real taste. Anyone on here who says this is a good or great film needs to get checked out by a doctor. This movie is pure torture for anyone.
How to Be Single (2016)
A DISAPPOINTING FILM WITH HARDLY ANY LAUGHS
After getting this picture from the library, I thought it would be at least decent, it has three amazing actresses, Rebel Wilson, Leslie Mann from This is 40 and George of The Jungle, it also has Dakota Johnson. So I thought this movie was going to be blast and a load of good fun. It didn't have any laughs and Trainwreck is a hundred percent better than this one. I don't understand what made the cast decide to do a mediocre comedy film. I wonder what they were thinking when they first got the movie script. They should've done another movie, because this one starts out okay and ends nowhere. Boring with no laughs. The only reason I'm giving this movie a 4 out of 10 rating, is because the beginning was at least decent, and there's only one funny part in the movie. Skip this one, the filmmakers need to learn their lesson from this garbage.
Trainwreck (2015)
A HILLARIOUS MOVIE WITH MEMORABLE MOMENTS
Trainwreck is an amazing comedy film for lots of movie buffs and movie goers to go see. I love these kinds of movies. Amy Schumer and Bill Harder are really talented. Not only does it have great laughs, but it has an in depth storyline about finding the one you want to be with for the rest of your laugh. This film is one that Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel would've probably given a thumbs down to. But it doesn't matter, because at the end of the day it is us who have the ultimate say, not the newspaper critics that claim to be. All in all this film has really talented actors and is one that will keep you laughing and wanting another movie by Amy Schumer. You won't want to turn it off until the end credits roll. Also John Cena is hallarious as well.
Rating: 8 and 1/2 out of 10
Jurassic Park (1993)
Not Terrible, But Not Amazing
Jurassic Park is a classic and an iconic film since Steven Spielberg did his film Jaws back in 1975. The thing about Jurassic Park is that kids about age ten to thirteen years old will find it boring. The reason being is that in the beginning of the film after Spielberg hooks you in with a scary scene involving a Velociraptor they go into Dino DNA and the making of the dinosaurs and about how John Hammond created the dinosaurs. When we finally get to the dinosaurs it feels like half an hour has gone by. Young kids will find it a bore until the action hits the screen. That is the reason why I was torn between giving this film a thumbs up or thumbs down at first. For me it's a slight thumbs down. I only recommend you see this movie if you have the patience for waiting for the action to happen, which isn't for quite awhile in this film. Again this isn't a terrible movie, but it's not amazing either. It has a great concept, but the execution isn't all the way there. Spielberg did a lot better job with Jaws than this one.
He knew how to set everything up and develop the characters without boring us. Jurassic Park does the opposite of that. It can be very boring at times, even though the character development is there, there's really nothing interesting to develope about the characters. Even Jeff Goldblooms' character, Ian Malcolm didn't have any interesting development facts for his background of character developement. The style is good, but the storyline lacks and it's a very slow paced movie. The story would've been a lot better if the pace was a lot faster. Because of the uninteresting character developement and slow pace I am giving this film 5 and 1/2 stars, only because once it does get going it is quite an exordinary picture.
The Sandlot 2 (2005)
A Repeat Of The First Sandlot Film
I'm a big fan of the first Sandlot film. It's hallariously funny and the storyline is amazing. The story of a neighborhood boy who teaches a newcomer how to play baseball. It's fantastic and everything went right. In this second installment it's a complete mess. There's no funny parts whatsoever. It's a copycat of the first film, with the exception of some girls playing baseball in this film. This comedy is outright awful and gives the first film a bad name. We went from amazingly funny for the whole family, To extremely terrible. I think this film should've never been made, in fact, the only thing that stood out was the fact that this film is so unoriginal that any filmmaker could've made this. It's predictable in every way possible and everything is the same as the first film. The third film is better than this one. The acting is off the chart terrible, the comedy jokes are lame and unfunny. David Mickey Evans, the writer and director of the film could've done a lot better. I'll need to see what other movies he's done so I can see what other garbage and unoriginal ideas he's come up with. Having said everything, don't buy this on DVD or online, watch it on cable for free if you really want to see this terrible sequel. You'll probably doze off and want to sleep once you're into the first fifteen minutes of this horrible comedy.
A definate no brainer, thumbs down.
1/2 star
Unoriginal Terrible.
Hostel (2005)
AN AMAZING IDEA GONE WRONG IN PRODUCTION
Hostel stars: Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, Eythor Gudjonsson and Barbara Nedeljakova, including Jana Kaderakova and Jan Vlasak. It was directed and written by Eli Roth, the director of Inglorious Bastards, Knock Knock, Clown and also the sequel, Hostel Part: II. Hostel is very strong and graphic in all ways possible. The idea of it is amazing, but something must've went wrong during production, because the turnout of the film in the end is completely terrible. It's a flush the DVD down your toilet type of horror film.
I'm shocked that the studios and the production companies decided to go through with making this movie. It's a shame that they produced the wrong horror film when another amazing one could've been made instead of this trashheaped garbage. The horror factor is nothing scary or creepy, only blood and guts. Body parts being torn and the film is mainly pure torture. Nothing to get excited about or want to see again, and again and again. So on and so forth this movie should be banned from all stores that sell DVDs and on the internet. Sites like Amazon should not have this movie in stock. The fact that this movie reminds me of human trafficking is somewhat interesting, because it does happen in real life. Having said that, there's nothing else in this movie that makes it worth a second viewing or even to watch it on Halloween. It's a load of crap with terrible dialogue and way to graphically over the top extreme violence with gore. Featuring tones of cuss words, which horror films can do without or very little of. If you own this movie, throw it out. Just know that this film is the kind that is banned in certain countries. I wish that it was never made. Eli Roth should be ashamed of himself. We want new horror that's good and creative, not the same old junk that has been coming out what seems like every year or so. Since he went to film school, I wonder at times if he really paid attention on how to make great films, or if he was just in a rush to get into the industry. If I knew what I know now, I would've never watched this film in the first place. I'm glade that I saw this piece of junk for free. It's in my Grandma's movie collection. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even paid a penny to see this. We need better horror films than this, we need scary and creepy, not gore, swearing and all of this graphic nudity and sex scenes they put in now a days. That distracts the viewers and they can't really concentrate on the storyline with nudity and sex every ten to fifteen minutes within the film. It's not worth anything. Save your money for a great film that will wow you. This film will just make horror fans feel dumb that they got tricked out of their money and want to smack themselves in the face.
Overall it's a thumbs down.
2 and 1/2 stars.
Hostel: Part II (2007)
A TERRIBLE MESS ALL AROUND!
Hostel (2005) was as terrible as watching paint dry. However, this sequel to the first film takes a new all time low. I wouldn't rewatch this movie even if you paid me. This is far more worse than the first film. It's practically the same movie again, this time with the opposite sex. Having women being the victims and tortured is way more disgusting and sick than watching the men in the first film go through it. If anyone has any brains at all, they will certainly want to do a petition to ban all Hostel films from the US. The one after this awful sequel is the only one that's okay. Hostel Part II features more
body parts ripping to shreds and more full frontal nudity. Swearing is here in this film again and it doesn't let up. There's really not much else to say except, the acting is terrible, the special effects are way to gruesome, no imaginary creativitay was done while this movie was in the shooting process and it's just garbage all around. It's a film that I only keep around to remind me of my Grandma. Other than that, I would've thrown it away in the trash can outside of my house a long time ago. The storyline's boring as anything possible. I'd rather look up in the sky and see different shapes of clouds than watch this terrible garbage that was made to rip horror fans off once again. Awful directions and very poorly written was the script when Eli Roth wrote it. Cabin Fever was better than this. I'm waiting to see if Eli Roth can come up with something truly terrifying, not the same rehashed garbage that other filmmakers having been putting out for years on end. From me, this is a huge thumbs down.
For an overall rating, I give Hostel Part II
0 Stars.
(Why the heck did I watch this terrible piece of garbage?)

Save your money for a great film that will wow you. This film will just make horror fans feel dumb that they got tricked out of their money and want to smack themselves in the face.
Overall it's a thumbs down.
2 and 1/2 stars.
Trick 'r Treat (2007)
A TREAT THIS IS
If you love horror films, this is the one to watch. This one is off the chart scary and terrifying. This horror picture is somewhat wacky, but in a good way. It's a trillion times better than Rob Zombie's two original horror films, House Of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. Both of those films are pathetic in their own ways. This film however, is dark and creepy. There is blood, but the filmmakers knew when to use the blood and when to leave certain horrors to the audiences' imaginations. This is very important for horror films. As in doing so, I don't understand why this film got mixed reviews. I know everyone has their own opinion, but to me, if you're a die hard horror fan, you'll love this one. Amazing storyline and good acting by everyone. It also stars Dylan Baker who played Dr. Connors in Spider-Man 2 and 3. He does a great job. I give my compliments to Michael Dougherty for creating this great horror film for us horror fans. Everyone who loves horror pictures should enjoy this film.
I highly recommend you watch Trick 'r Treat in either late September or anytime in October, it'll give you scares, thrills, and even goosebumps.
Halloween II (2009)
TOTAL CRAP!!!!!!!!!!
Worse than the first one for sure. Rob Zombie completely destroys Michael Myers and the Halloween storyline in his 2009 sequel to his remake of Halloween back in 2007. Total garbage and if I had known what this movie was going to be, I would've never bought it on DVD. I was fourteen at the time of its' release, I feel pretty stupid the fact that I gave Rob Zombie money. Stay clear of this one at all costs, you'll end up wasting time, when you could've seen a film worth your time. I hate everything about this movie, there's one scene that's more suited for a heavy metal music video than a motion picture. I didn't like the fact that Zombie dressed him up in a hood. He makes Michael Myers have more of a human personality in this one. The film is terrible from beginning to the end. The shooting style is to gritty, a graphic blood bath. Once again Rob Zombie goes over the top with blood and guts, much worse than his 2007 remake, to try to scare his audience. I'm a huge fan of his music, After I saw the trailer for his newer film, 31, I can definitely say, Zombie, you're not the filmmaking type, it's either two options, 1. Take filmmaking classes or 2. Stop making movies and leave it to the filmmakers who know what they're doing. Sorry everybody, it's just sad to see everyone waste their money on this piece of trash he calls an amazing horror film. Also note that Rob Zombie's visions of creative art form, arent's working for him in his movies.
For an overall rating I give Halloween II (2009)
A 1/2 star.
Halloween (2007)
A REMAKE THAT DIDN"T LIVE UP TO IT'S EXPECTATIONS!
Everyone who read my movie review of Halloween (1978), they know that I'm a big fan of the Halloween films. However, Rob Zombie has a very poor ability to create scares and frights, unlike the original, Rob Zombie relied on Shock value with lots of gore to try to strike the fear into horror fans. Sadly, that's not how it always works. Sometimes what we don't see, is scarier than what we do see. He didn't know what to show and what not to show. I remember on the trivia on IMDB, that one of the facts was that Rob Zombie didn't want his remake to go up against Saw IV. In my opinion, if he's afraid to face another filmmaker who makes horror films, then he shouldn't be in the filmmaking industry at all. We need creative filmmakers for us, the audience, in all genres. Not only that, but they need to be brave. The fact that it wasn't released because they were afraid of what might've happened if it had gone up against Saw IV, that means that Zombie isn't as good of a filmmaker that he says he is. If he wants to stay in the film industry, he might want to consider taking some filmmaking classes at a film school. Someone needs to show him how to make a really horrifying film. Carpenter gave Zombie his complete support on remaking the film. After he encouraged him to make it his own, probably not just for him, but for his fans as well, Rob Zombie said the opposite. He said that
Carpenter wasn't very supportive, I'm glade that Carpenter shot back an assertive response during an interview. Zombie definitely deserved it. As for the 2007 remake of Halloween, focusing on the film itself, I felt that Zombie could've taken more time to come up with more creative plot points. It could've also used more professional sounding dialogue, all of the swearing seemed to be never ending, all of the adult content could've been taken down a notch or two. My best advice for people who want to see the remake of Halloween, get it on Netflix or amazon streaming. If this film ever comes back to the theaters in the future, don't go to see it, you're only putting money in Zombie's pocket. There's no real thrill ride here. After fifteen to twenty minutes into the movie, you'll begin to realize that Zombie copies pretty much everything that Carpenter had created in the original film. In which shows that Zombie couldn't rely on his own creativity. All in all, 3 & 1/2 stars out of 10.
Halloween (1978)
A FANTASTIC MASTERPIECE FOR HORROR!
I first saw this classic when I was thirteen years old at my Grandma and Papa's house. It didn't scare me, because I know that all of the storylines are make believe. Today however, I get worried that there's someone like Michael Myers who isn't in a normal mindset and might go on a killing spree. This picture is amazing, it has scares and a simple story that even a ten year old could follow. Everyone should own this film on DVD or Blu-Ray. This is one film that you shouldn't miss. This is just as good as Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 horror film, Psycho, and having Jamie Lee Curtis in the film was an excellent choice by John Carpenter himself, who at first wanted someone else for the roll of Laurie Strode. I also think that the mask that Michael Myers wears is terrifying and that Irwin Yablans was indeed completely wrong about it not be scary, as he shared on the
Halloween (1978) documentary, which is now available to watch on YouTube. The film has a great supporting cast and a great teamwork ethic by bringing in Debra Hill to colloberate with him on the film. I think that Moustapha Akkad should've been more supportive about the film. $300,000.00 today is extremely expensive. I don't see why even back then you couldn't have made a simple horror film like this one. It's a fantastic film, the style and the look of the film, even when the opening titles play on the screen in the beginning, sets the tone for an amazing horror film. Sadly after Halloween II in 1981 it all went down hill and everything was just to make money. I am hoping that horror fans will help end this franchise this Halloween with the new Halloween film coming out (October of 2018)
For and from overall rating I give Halloween (1978)
A BOMBING 10 STARS
WHAT AN AMAZING FILM!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
A GOOD FILM, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST ONE
In 2015 everyone loved the first Jurassic World film, I enjoyed it as well, I give it 10 out of 10, amazing and well done. Now comes Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom the fifth installment in The Jurassic Park franchise. In my opinion the movie isn't bad or a let down. To back up my opinion I have to include some small spoilers, but don't worry, I won't give away everything. To start with, I think the name of the new carnivorous dinosaur (That's a Hybrid) which is named The Indoraptor, is a very clever and creative name. It's a combination of an Allosaurus and a Velociraptor. Since the Allosaurus wasn't presented in the other films, and the fact that it's a real dinosaur was a great choice to add in a new species of a carnivor dinosaur. It's not a terrible film and there is a major twist once they arrive on Isla Nubler, in which I won't give away. But the film is full of suspense and the new
dinosaur is scary and menacing. The film is darker than the previous film and when you watch it, you'll know why. At this point I do think they need to find away to wrap up the Jurassic Park franchise storyline for good, before the movies start to go down hill. Overall it's not a terrible film. For and overall rating I give
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
8 & 1/2 stars out of 10.

Shocker (1989)
A FAILED ATTEMPT TO CREATE ANOTHER ICONIC CHARACTER
I have no idea what Wes was thinking when he decided he wanted to make this movie. He can do so much better than this. The whole concept of the storyline is bland and there's no real twists or turns. There's no scares whatsoever. Like he said on one of his interviews, he tried to create another iconic horror character, like Freddy Krueger. It's a huge failed attempt. I love Wes as a filmmaker and that's why I see his movies. If you're not a movie reviewer, avoid this movie at all cost. The power that he which is going through TV sets is a terrible concept and I feel that if this was labeled as a Sci-Fi and crime film it might've worked a lot better. Sadly, they tried to make this a horror film, for horror, this doesn't work at all. Sorry, it just doesn't work. The special Effects are realistic and that's great, but the wacky acting in this film doesn't help the story at all within the motion picture. All in all, a terrible film and to me, a failure.
