Evil Dead (2013)
IMDb Hijacked by Fanboys Once Again
Going through and reading the top reviews for this movie on IMDb is an absolute joke. It is ridiculous how people are acting and just completely smearing this movie. It is like they want the movie to be identical to the original and that's not what a remake should be. They are ragging the actors as if the acting was so great in the original. The story is a little bit different here, but it works still. What is up with the crazy hate. For once, we get a decent remake and people are coming in here and acting like absolute mindless trolls.
This is a fun, well shot, creepy and over the top gore fest that is entertaining. Give it a chance. I think it is really well done and just as fun as the original in its own way. Nothing in the original made me wince and there were some serious moments in this movie that had me cringing.
Bottom line: See this movie and give it fair chance!
The Warrior's Way (2010)
Cheesy, DUMB. Clunky. bad acting. crap fight sequences
It blows my mind how you can go through IMDb and see movies that are actually good that have lower ratings compared to something like this, which is just a freaking joke! Who is rating this and giving it these good reviews? This movie is complete and utter garbage. They spent over 40 Million on this and it is has only grossed a little over 11 million. This is not a case of some movie being before its time; the numbers are far more of an accurate estimation of this film than what is obviously people manipulating the ratings on this site. It's almost as though the studio and makers think that audiences are so dumb that you can just write that it is good and that everybody will automatically like it just because . . .
People be real please! Even the fight sequences in this are bad and the wire rigging looking like a bad stage adaptation of "Peter Pan." The supposed "gorgeous" cinematography just looks like bad CGI backgrounds.
I don't even want to get into the acting in this, nor the script because I'll wind up vomiting recalling the scenes. It's almost like chunky puke coming up in your mouth, while your mouth is duct-taped and you are forced to let it go down a second time. This could also be good metaphor for the makers and friends trying to silence the actual critical responses to this turd by writing their own "shiny" reviews and trying to push the real ones to the back of the pile.
Halloween II (2009)
Rob Zombie's "Halloweens" by themselves.
Going through these reviews, I am appalled by the ridiculous rants and mindless attacks from people who just want more of the same. These are REMAKES not SEQUELS coming in from the same series. People are saying Rob Zombie's "H2" is the worst in series, which is absolute garbage! Look how much bouncing around and ignoring of past movies the original series did where they really are goofs and inconsistencies!!! Doing a remake of source material opens you up to making new and fresh takes on the material. If you look at the 2 new movies done by Zombie, they have far more character development and psychological studies of characters than the original series ever did! There were so many different takes on relationships and people that I never even thought of because there was no room for that with how the original movies. Appreciate this as a psychological study of Laurie Strode, the Myers family and other characters of Haddonfield, Illinois mixed with a dark and sleazy horror film with a 70's feel . . . This movie is good and sad in ways that none of the original movies were. It's different, that does not make it awful. Yes, I love the original series and how they were made and are, but that would not say much for Rob as a writer or director to have just created more of the same . . .
I suggest people that have just bashed this crazy notions like "This is the worst horror movie ever" re-watch the director's cut of this film and put aside your cookie cutter notion of how this movie "Has to be" based on what the old ones were . . . They are great by themselves; look at this one and the '07 remake by themselves and see where they really are interesting and more-psychologically-in-depth new takes on this series!
(500) Days of Summer (2009)
Brilliantly bad, horrible acting, cheesy wannabe thought provoking
People please . . . I heard about how great and marvelous this piece of garbage was supposed to be. Knowing not to trust jerky, critic believing morons, I went against my better judgment and actually watched this - wasting a discounted ticket and worse, my time!!! This movie was putting on the arty vibe of intelligence for the easily swayed, but falls flat once its lackluster story and dorky attempts at humor bring its unimaginative script to mind. All the dorky flipping back and forth through the 500 days of stupidity with a boring and unattractive girl named Summer gets not only repetitive, but downright irritating. This type of film and worse, the people who hype them, is exactly what's wrong with critics. There is absolutely nothing more intelligent, insightful or anything else with this movie than freaking "Transformers 2." Give me a break!!! What just because we have these two people sitting around and talking about nothing, that means it's a better movie? Whatever. Not only that, but this is just a boy meets girl story . . . How often has that been done and redone? Complete joke on the audience.
Day of the Woman (1978)
Problem, this films makes out that Rape is worse than Murder . . .
The biggest problem with this junkie movie is that it tries to make the statement that a rape is worse than a murder. I do not care what little, feminist group out there wants to irrationally scream that it is - No, it is not! It absolutely is not and never will be. It may be because statistics show that more men are murdered than women or die violent deaths, so, of course, women of this mentality completely don't care or understand. Sexism much??? The vast majority of this movie is so freaking boring!!! It almost seems as though they separated the rape scenes out and kept the camera rolling, while she did nothing but walk, just to give this weak story a feature length. Bad acting, horrible lighting, unbelievable portrayal of men . . . This movie just plain stinks all over the place. The only reason it made money was because of the controversy and bad mouthing of this, which the director proudly admits. I somehow really question how this piece of crap is some kind of empowerment for women . . . Yes, rape is bad, but call the police! It is also severely unrealistic how after the rapes, she goes back around to them and they don't wonder what's up.
Bride Wars (2009)
What is up with the audience for this kind of garbage???
This is the absolute worst bunch of bad acting, insipid directing, lackluster story and soundtrack to die hearing. The fact that slop like this is successful is really scary. We are talking jokes so bad and set-ups so obvious that a five year old must have envisioned this estrogen fest that displays how perfectly shallow women can be. Through a haze of one dimensional characters and plot devices straight out of the chic flick manual comes . . . NOTHING! I wish an earthquake could have hit and burned the negative before I was stuck watching such mindless fodder. You can just hear the people into this saying afterwards, "Oh me Gawd, Crystal . . . it was SO great and HOT! Like Yea! You should go see it." Ugh! Anybody with half a brain will be wanting to throw popcorn at the screen.
The Evil Woods (2007)
Why do they make stuff like this?
You know the horror genre has some really great films. It is just a shame that so many idiots out there think they can just throw something together and make a good one and fail, giving the genre a bad name. You have got to be kidding me that anybody even reading the script(If there was one)thought this was going to be good. I'm sure they suckered some young people to be apart of their crew by promising meals and credit instead of any pay for their time. Wow, you gave them a garbage flick to put on their resume. That will really impress Robert Zemeckis or Michael Bay to hire them to do something better. We have 5 young people that all hate each other camping out for no real reason. I spent most of the time watching this trying to figure out why I was watching it until I skipped to the end. Really bad movie.
Anybody saying this movie is good is somebody who knows these people and feels sorry for them.
