The Faculty (1998)
Great Movie
11 March 2002
This is a good film to watching even though it doesnt have the best plot. I'm not a big fan of the whole alien taking over the world thing but this movie managed to entertain me. The biggest attraction and the only reason I picked it up was because of Elijah Wood as Casey. He was the stand out actor of this movie. But even the other characters were good and the movie was cute. My favorite line was of course, 'Guaranteed to jack you up.'

Casey- 'God, you can be such a f..'

Delilah- 'what did you say?'

Casey- 'I said you could be a pretty cool human being when your not being a first class grade A bitch'

Delilah- 'Are you hitting on me?'

October Sky (1999)
Wonderful Movie
24 February 2002
October Sky was a wonderful and moving story about a boy who lives in a mining town. I won't give away what happens but go see it! I cried my eyes out during a few scenes and loved every moment of it. Jake Gyllenhaal did a great job of playing Homer. 8/10

Jurassic Park (1993)
Great Movie
24 February 2002
Jurassic Park is one of Speilburg's classics. Its wonderfully filmed and acted out. The dinosaurs are pretty believable but the actors made it great. I loved Tim (Joseph Mazzello) following Dr. Grant (Sam Neill) and Alexis (Ariana Richards) who prefers to be called a hacker. It had good directing too. Its not too scary, of course I think everything is scary but its a great movie. 7/10

Deep Impact (1998)
Great Movie
19 February 2002
Deep Impact was a great movie and very entertaining. I found myself crying my eyes out as the president gave his speech. Elijah Wood is a great (and good looking) actor. And since I'm not too into the whole space/comet theme this movie did a great job of keeping me into it. For a great film, I give it a 8/10.

A Great Holiday Film
2 February 2002
The Santa Clause is a great holiday film. My favorite character was Bernard, the head elf. Scott/Santa could not get his name right. Tim Allen was the perfect choice for the roll of Santa. The little kid who played Charlie was cute and I loved the elves with, "attitude". Overall its a great family movie. 8/10

The Simpsons (1989– )
Great Show
26 January 2002
The Simpsons is one of the most clever, funniest shows out there. Its about the life of a family consisting of a lazy, alcoholic father; a hard work, blue-haired mother; a devilish little boy; and a smart young girl. I find it funny how the same people can do so many different voices at once. For such a funny show I give it a 9/10.

Smart Guy (1997–1999)
Funny Show!
15 January 2002
Smart guy is a very funny guy about a ten years old genius T.J. (Tahj Mowry). It is a very funny show and my favorite character is Mo. He is hilarious. I love when Kyla Pratt guest stars as Brandy, T.J.s gangster friend. I give this show a 6.5/10

Center Stage (2000)
Wonderful Movie
12 January 2002
This is my favorite ballet movie of all time. The story line is good although I don't like how they made it look like every dancer is beautiful and perfect. The best parts were the great dancing, especially the workshop at the end. The scenes were shot well so that you felt like you were on the stage.

Young Hearts Unlimited (1998 TV Movie)
Alright, but confusing and rushed
12 January 2002
Young Hearts Unlimited was an alright movie but hard to follow and if you leave the room for two seconds you can't get back into it. First of all it had way to many things happening, that you couldn't grasp them all. First you have two best friends, whose parents dated in high school, but now hate each other. Then the dad of the girl finds out he is going to lose his service station. Then it cuts to something completely different, a dumb blonde, a crook and a old guy. That part I didn't quite understand what was happening. Eventually I figured out that the blonde and the crook (played by Robert Carradine and Lisa Robin Kelly, who were perfect and hilarious in their roles)ran way with the old guys money. Plus the blonde and the old guy are supposed to get married. Then it cuts back to the kids Zach and Mindy who set up a dating service to raise fifty thousand dollars in a month for her dad. Then the blonde and the crook meet up with them and help them out. Then the parents start dating. It all got confusing and after that I can't tell you what happens cause its too confusing. Anyway, in the end the parents are together, the blonde and the old guy are together, and they save the station. Also in the end, Zach grabs Mindy and starts kissing her. I don't know how old the girl was but the kid who played Zach (Andrew Lawrence) was only 9 or 10. He seemed a little young to be doing that. Other than not knowing what was happening, the blonde and crook were hilarious and the kids had some funny moments. I give it a 4/10

My New Favorite Movie
6 January 2002
The Lord of the Rings was the greatest movie of the year 2001. I just started reading the books so I don't know how close in comparison they are. I've only seen it twice so far but I know I'll be back at the theaters to see it again. The scenery in New Zealand was incredible and the filming was great. Elijah Woods who plays Frodo Baggins is a great actor and it doesn't hurt that Orlando Bloom who plays an elf is totally cute. 10/10

Good Movie filled with Football and Racial Issues
30 December 2001
Remember the Titans was an excellent movie that made me both laugh and cry. I loved the coaches daughter who was so into football. The football scenes were shot greatly. The moral story was very touching, about blacks and whites coming together and playing together. 9/10

Twister (I) (1996)
Good Movie
29 December 2001
Twister used to be my favorite movie of all time, but maybe thats because I was completely fasinated with tornados. Now I think that the only reason a person would watch it is because of the twister since the plot sucked. Helen Hunt is one of my favorite actresses and she was good in the movie but there wasn't much to act out. 5/10 because of the cool tornados.

The Other Me (2000 TV Movie)
Good Movie
26 December 2001
The Other Me was good made for T.V. movie and much better than the Parent Trap (which might be due to the fact that Andrew Lawrence is a better actor than Linsey Lohan). The characters were good except maybe for the bad guys, they were kind of cheesy. Otherwise, it was cute, romantic, dramatic and of course funny!(especially the cafeteria dance scene). One of Disney Channels best, 7/10.

Family Tree (1999)
10/10
Good Movie
23 December 2001
Family Tree is a good movie, although not award winning, it has a good lesson. I liked the feeling of an entire town coming together for a cause. The movie is about a kid named Mitch (Andy Lawrence) who isn't the most coordinated or popular kid in town. His best friend is a tree. It doesn't help him to have an overshadowing older brother Mark (Matt Lawrence), who also is the narrator. His dad (Robert Forester) is desperate to get a business going in their town and the have to build a town where Old Oak (the kids tree is). You get the picture. Overall is was a good movie so I give it 6/10

The Sandlot (1993)
Good for kids
23 December 2001
I remember a while back when I was a kid and this movie came out and I have to say I would watch it once a week and I loved it. A couple weeks ago, I saw it on t.v. and thought it was incredibly boring. Parts were cute, like when the dorky kid pretended to drown so he could kiss the girl, but other than that I was disappointed. I guess some movies are just for kids.

Rating when I was 5- 10/10 Rating now- 2/10

Salute Your Shorts (1991–1992)
Back in the day...
23 December 2001
Ahh... Back in the day of great Nickelodeon classics such as Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains it All and Alex Mack. What happened to those days? Now, Nick has brought in all these new crap show like "Sponge Bob" and "Cat-dog". Tsk, Tsk Nick... now I've switched to the Disney Channel. And I'm not even a kid, so it has nothing to do with my age.

The Kids from Room 402 (2000–2001)
Good Show
21 December 2001
The Kids in Room 402 is one of the only good shows on "ABC" Family (I know it sounds so weird!). It is clever, funny and cute. The characters are pretty good although its a little stereo-typical (i.e. class clown, class brain, class trouble-maker).

The story lines are appealing to kids but some of the jokes seem to be for adults. In one episode, Jesse (Spencer Klein) and Vinny (Andy Lawrence) "discover" cursing. They swore through the entire show and even though it was beeped you could tell perfectly well what they were saying. I laughed through out it but parts were kind of inappropriate. Here is a part from it

Principal- "When you guys swear you don't even know what your really saying!" Vinny- "Sure I do, F*cking is when two people-"

It was funny but not for kids. Other that its a great show. 7/10

Good Movie
17 December 2001
Back to the Future part II was a good movie and the best out of the three. Michael J. Fox, one of my favorite actors, was great. I loved the creators views of the future(i.e. the pockets inside out and the funky sneakers). Christopher Lloyd was ingenious as usual as the eccentric doc. Brown. I give it a 8/10.

So Little Time (2001–2002)
The Worst Show starring the Worst Actresses
16 December 2001
I never exactly thought of the Olsen twins as bad actresses, I just thought of them as young. I loved their last show Two of a Kind so this one should be just as good. Boy, was I wrong...

Anyone could put two decent looking girls put loads of make-up on them and call them actresses right? Well even if you can PLEASE DON'T! You'd think by now these girls could have learned how to act but they can't for their lives. Please, if they want to be famous couldn't they just be models or something? That doesn't take any talent, which they don't have at all.

And that isn't the only bad part of the show. If their parents are separated why are they always together? Plus, the nanny is just plain annoying. So you see, it took a lot of things to make this show as bad as it is.

But the worst part is knowing that they are supposed to be representing "American Teens". Yeah right... I am a teenager myself and let me tell you that isn't what we are like at all. I mean I know you can't put every girl into the same category because there are so many different types of people but the group they represent doesn't exist. They act like they are playing house in their own pretend world.

For such a lousy show I give it a 1/10, just because I'm feeling generous today.

Lizzie McGuire (2001–2004)
A bad show but theres still time left...
16 December 2001
When Lizzie McGuire first aired I thought it was an O.K. show with time to improve. Well time certainly didn't improve it, it just made it worse. I mean meeting Aaron Carter? being a Model? being filmed at your school? I think thats a little to much. And in every episode the same thing happens. They get in a fight but in the end they are best friends. My friends and i NEVER fight. Maybe thats just us but I know that true friends do not fight that much. Hilary Duff is an O.K. actress but Lalaine just can't act for her life. Maybe she just needs lessons... Lizzie's little brother Matt just gets under my skin until I want to throw something at the screen. When you cast an annoying little brother you pick someone who is annoying to the sister but cute and funny to the audience. This kid is just annoying to everyone. I hate how Lizzie and Miranda turn into pudding in front of that ugly kid who looks like he is 20. I mean girls mostly never have trouble talking to guys. There is one good part of the show- Lizzie's dad. He has know idea what he has to do to be a good father and he is hilarious.

But I think this show still has time. If the writers do a better job and they give Lalaine acting lessons it could survive. But they better get to it soon. I give it a 3/10.

Sadly, incredibly boring
14 December 2001
O.K. so we all know and love Dr. Suess's classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas. But this was just a major disappointment. I love Jim Carrey, I really do but this movie, well to put it simply stunk. In the theaters I could barely keep my eyes open from falling asleep. tsk tsk.. I expected more from this movie. 3/10

A holiday classic!
14 December 2001
Every holiday season as I search for my favorite classics my first pull has always been The Muppet Christmas Carol. Its a wonderful and funny film about Charles Dickens classic novel. I love gonzos impression of Dickens and his little rat friend is hilarious. Kermit the frog is wonderful as usual as Bob Crachit and miss piggy was the perfect Mrs. Crachit. The singing is always fun to sing along to. For such a wonderful holiday classic I give it a 10/10!

Boy Meets World (1993–2000)
The Perfect Show
13 December 2001
I don't even know where to begin writing about Boy Meets World. I know I've probably seen every episode way too many times but whats not to love? Cory and Topanga's perfect romance, Shawns struggle to find a place in the world and the lovable carefree Eric. I have to say that I bawl every time Cory and Topanga break up and I laugh at all of Erics stupidity but you'd have to be insane not to. Many people think its too directed to kids or teens but everyone in my family enjoys it from me (teen) to my dad (mid 40s). And I definatly don't think the show went downhill in the last few seasons. The plot gets better as Jack joins and later, Angela and Rachel. And I know its a bit odd that Mr. Feeni follows them to college but how could they get rid of Feeni? Its a perfect show filled with comedy and drama which doesn't always work. But this show had great directing, great writing and most of all great acting. For the perfect show I have to give it a 10/10.
