Confused and Still Undecided
14 December 2004
After watching this movie in the theaters, I was angry and disappointed at how I thought I wasted more than two hours of my time watching this drama; However I cannot find much fault with it other than it left me wishing I had never watched this movie in the first place. All of the actor's are excellent in their roles (especially Meryl Strep, who has the ability to show a convincing shrew and make everyone hate her). My main complaint was that the movie was far too drawn out and long in many places; like the beginning. There were many scenes in this movie that will stay with me for a very long time -I still cannot decide if that is a good thing or not. Watch the original Macnhrian Candidate and don't judge these two movies together- they are a completely different animal, so to speak.

Unnoticed by Crictics, Still wonderful
14 December 2004
Empire Of The Sun is one of my favorite movies of all times for many different reasons; the soundtrack and score of the movie is composed by John Williams, who will always remain one of the best composers/writers in history. This movie has many wonderful actors in it, including Christian Bale, John Malokvich, and Josheph Pantolini. Every actor involved is wonderful- and the scenery is more striking than beautiful. I only wish that I had seen this movie in the theaters instead of having to wait for it on VHS or DVD (And I think a Special Version of this movie should be re-released on DVD.) Christian Bale plays a British boy caught in a world that is in the middle of World War II (I don't want to give away too many details; You really should watch this movie and judge for yourself.)

Please Read
12 December 2004
This is one of the most addictive television shows that has been aired in many years; It is finally on DVD, and I cannot wait until the premiere of the second season on January 9, 2005. The casting of this series is excellent- I especially love Linda Hunt as the voice of Management to Clancy Brown as Brother Justin to Michael Anderson as Samson- the whole cast is wonderful- along with the scenery and pace of the show; it does not have the "rollar Coaster" mentality, but rather sets up all of the characters so you begin either begin to care for them or despise them accordingly. THe First Season set up the cast of Characters, and from what I can tell, the second season will put everything in motion and have more action involved. I am going to go buy the season one on DVD as soon as possible (as soon as I finish writing this review). There have only been twelve episodes so far, and I hope there will be at least 30 more (or however many more it takes til the story is told.) I also enjoy the Carnie Lingo, and to see the contrast of how people lived in different areas.

Samson: Before the beginning, after the great war between Heaven and Hell, God created the Earth and gave dominion over it to the crafty ape he called man. And to each generation was born a creature of light and a creature of darkness. And great armies clashed by night in the ancient war between good and evil. There was magic then, nobility, and unimaginable cruelty. And so it was until the day that a false sun exploded over Trinity, and man forever traded away wonder for reason.

Drawn Together (2004–2007)
Although offensive, Please read
28 November 2004
This is the true story of eight characters, picked to live in a house to find out what happens when people stop being real and start getting animated. Presented as if it were a real Primetime reality series, "Drawn Together" answers the question of what happens when eight completely different cartoon characters from various genres and styles live together and have their lives filmed for the entire world to see.

Okay- I'm not going to be saying anything too original. Even though most of the episodes are predictable and offensive to almost everyone in the world, I still find this television show funny. The spoofs aren't original- and the jokes are old (especially about Foxy's Anatomy); In fact there are more negative things to be said about this show than positive.

But thats why a sense of humor is just that- a sense. Not everyone is going to find the same thing funny at the same time.

"Xandir: I'm on a never-ending quest to save my girlfriend!" still makes me laugh about Zelda and makes me want to play the games all over again.

WOW- When is the movie going to be here?
2 September 2004
I missed this series when it was first aired on Fox since I work at a restaurant, but I finally rented it from Netflix. I LOVE this series, and I am now addicted to the show and I want more. I enjoyed everyone and every episode, though some more than others. The random chinese phrases are very funny. It is truely an ensemble cast, and I hope that all of the characters stay the same for the possible movie. The guest stars are very interesting, from Richard Brooks to Melinda Clarke. Buy the Dvd for special features and interviews with cast members. Malcolm Reynolds holds the duty as Captain - he is a defeated soldier who opposed the unification of the planets by the Alliance to no avail. Striving to be normal, he must keep all his crew members on task and have Serenity flying safely. Zoe (aka The Soldier) is extremely loyal to Reynolds as she served with him during the war and owes her life to him. Zoe has the strength and experience to take command of the ship, if necessary. Her husband, Wash is the pilot of the ship and is unassuming, self-deprecating and calm with a sense of humour. The mechanic of the ship is the experienced engineer, Kaylee while the Ambassador is Inara and the Mercenary is the tough, ultimately loyal, and unpleasant Jayne. Simon is the doctor on Serenity and comes from a wealthy family and has a privileged upbringing. His sister, River (aka The Fugitive) is an experienced psychic who can read most minds. And lastly, Book or "The Shepherd", an old and wise priest.

Not perfect, but interesting
18 December 2003
I waited until this movie was out on DVD before watching it, and although it was very predictible (especially if you knew your literature, like the story of Dorian Gray) but that is what made me enjoy this movie the most. I give it a 6 and half out of 10- it had a lot of potential that it did not live up to, but overall a somewhat decent film.

Yawn
21 May 2003
I really dislike this movie. The Plot is predictible and the acting is so-so. I don't understand Sharon's family at all- and I would have had another way to have the film. Maybe its my stance on violence towards women and children- but how in ANY world is that acceptable? I just finished watching this movie and I'm sorry that I wasted my time with it. I wish I could get back the time and money I spent at Blockbuster. I see why people have slammed this movie over and over again, and I agree with them. The title song is awful too. Anyway Please avoid this movie- I know I wish that I had. But If you're like me and you have to make up your own opinion, good luck.

Ignore
27 April 2003
I have read many good reviews of this movie, both before and after I went to see it. However, since I went to see this movie with family members, I did not pay for it so I only feel cheated for my time instead of both my time and money. The character's could have been better developed, and I left the theater wondering why this movie was made in the first place. I believe I expected too much from this movie- such as the ending having some kind of conclusion other than it was. I should have waited to see this movie on HBO or give it as a Christmas present to someone in my family. But overall, I rate this movie as a 2 out f 5 because it could have been so much more considering the actors starring in it.

Second Chance
26 April 2003
I decided that I would watch this show that aired @ten pm on Mondays because I had some free time. After that, I became addicted. I love all of the actors on the show, and I have seen them various other roles (Angus was Robert the Bruce in Braveheart, and the girl in the series (sorry, I don't know her name) was Gia in General Hospital, and Skeet has been in a lot of movies. I never missed an episode, and I hope they continue to air this television show. I believe it had a lot to offer, from acting to plot line. I really want to know what Skeet's character is going to do next or what town he is going to go to. In My opinion, it is one of the best telvision shows out right now (Other than BTVS)

A nice way to waste time
18 April 2003
This film was a nice way to waste time, and I will probably buy it on Dvd when it is released. Its sweet and harmless, and funny. It is not too original, but I really do not care and I enjoyed the actors on the screen and just a release from the daily grind and being able to watch a movie without too much vulgarity and vioence. Plus Ian wasn't too bad to look at either. This film is not going to win any Oscars, but I don't think it ever wanted to. Its just a nice chick flick to watch on a rainy day. As cliched as it sounds, who can ask for more?

Take With A Grain Of Salt
26 March 2003
I had been told to see this movie by many of my friends, and I dragged my feet about it. But I am happy that I did watch it, because I think its one of the best movies that I have seen for a while. I have read other people's comments about it, and I understand that not everyone thinks it is a decent movie. Some people have insulted each other about it, which is rather immature. Not everyone is going to like this movie, which is fine with me. That just means there are more copies of the Special Edition DVD for me to buy when/if it is going to be released. I love this movie because of the soundtrack, the irony of the casting choices, the plot, the acting, and Evil Dead. I have not seen a movie similar to this, so I have nothing to compare it to. The soundtrack was awesome. I give this film a 9.5 out of 10. But feel free to ignore this review and instead if you have some free time watch the movie for yourself. And form your own opinion.

Read this and save time
18 February 2003
I have read the other comment about this movie, and usually I try not to be harsh in my criticisms because I try to be a nice person. However, this movie is one of the worst movies that I have EVER seen (And thats topping a lot of bad USA Network plus Cinemax nights.) Whoever thought of this movie needs to be prevented from EVER making another one. This film disgusted me in a way that no other film ever. I REALLY think these people are insane. Just save your time and do not watch this fllm. Please - I wish that I had. The acting is horrible, the plot (what plot) is STUPID and degrading and insane. I really do not think this should have been made into a movie. But that is my opinion, and I am trying to save you from wasting your time.

Seen Worse, but still stupid
11 December 2002
This plot line is totally unbelievable- who would actually fall for this guy? I am sorry that I wasted ANY time on this made for tv movie. The only movie that I have seen that is worse stars Susan Lucci, and she can't act her way out of a paperbag, so that isn't saying much (French Silk). Anyway, DON"T see this.

Avoid at all cost: Don't even read my comments
3 November 2002
Avoid this movie at all cost If you are still reading my review of this movie you are spending too much time, So STOP IT. You should be paid to watch this movie, even if you watch it on television and didn't pay anything for it. A stupid plot with mediocre acting (although the actors have proven in the past that they are quite capable of acting, they don't prove that they have ANY talent here.) Just avoid this movie and watch almost anything other than this. I know it would be time well spent. Enjoy your night.

An Hour
27 October 2002
Warning: Spoilers
An interesting way to spend an hour. Most of the time the show is worth watching, and its nice to have a strong female lead spy who doesn't look like one of the Charlie's Angels. The supporting cast is just as good as the lead, which is unusual. Sydney Bristow was recruited as an undergrad to work for SD-6, which she thought was a government agency. However, when her fiancé is killed by SD-6 agents, she finds out that SD-6 is actually a counter-government agency. There is a lot of intrigue and cliffhangers throughout the series. Pure escapism is the order of the day as Sydney prances around in barely-there outfits and basically, confronting everything evil in the world of covert spy missions. Garner is fabulous and the supporting cast -- especially puppy-dog lovable Michael Vartan and intense Voctor Garber -- are up to the challenge.

Love the book, love this version
27 October 2002
This version of the book is very accurate and interesting. This mini-series is a lot better than the other movie version, especially the actress who plays Wendy. A must see. Other made for tv movies by King are Storm of the Century, The Stand, and Rose Red. When King has some input on the movies, the movies turn out to be wonderful.

Boring
26 October 2002
I snuck into this film after my film ended because my mom was watching it. I did not pay for the movie ticket, but I feel that I should be paid for watching it. A cheap-romance novel would be more interesting than this movie. Its not the actor's faults, but just a horrible script and terrible idea for a movie. Give this one a pass

Gotta Watch
7 October 2002
This show is awesome..I love the way it is acted out, and how out of the ordinary Monk is. I don't know if I could put up with him (the detective) irl, but its one of the most interesting shows that has been aired recently. This show has its own quirks, and is worth watching if you enjoy reading Robert Parker books. Please, watch this show so it can stay on the air.

Worth reading + Worth Watching
5 October 2002
I love Eddie Izzard. I think this is awesome, and the other television specials should be looked at as well. He has a good book "Dress To Kill" out to buy as well, which I think people should read. I loved that this program won an Emmy, and anyone who likes history will probably get a laugh from Eddie. Enjoy :)

Ignore At ALL Cost
5 October 2002
This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.....Just ignore and take a nap instead of wasting the time to watch it. Your time will be better spent asleep than watching this movie......Cindy Crawford does not know how to act at all, but maybe it was this role that was horrible, who knows? All I know is this movie is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! It should never have been made.

This mini-series did not disapoint me AT all. It was well thought out, and quite interesting. (And yes, I am a major King fan, so I might be biased- I think almost everything he does is gold...if it isn't, it usually isn't his fault). For other mini-series to watch, The Stand, The Perfect Storm, and The Shining. All awesome mini-series. A definite must buy.

Nothing Groundbreaking, But interesting
15 July 2002
This movie didn't show anything new to the world. Most everyone knew what happened on this horrible day in history that will live in infamy. But that wasn't the point of this movie- it was just to show a love story. The story wasn't one of the best love stories ever, but it was interesting. I wouldn't buy it unless it was on sale.

Warning: Spoilers
I saw the original the day the movie opened 5 years ago, and I saw it again the night it opened. The movie wasn't too long or too short: The jokes were funnier because it was updated, so I will probably buy the DVD set whenever it comes out. I thought this movie was pretty funny, who really cares about the acting, although Jones and Lee do a pretty good job. This movie wasn't ever meant to be serious. <spoilers> I LOVED THE LAST SCENE IN THE MOVIE.

Something Worth Reading
6 July 2002
This show is not as good as his books, also "A Cook's Tour" Or "Kitchen Confidential" because he can't show what really happens on television. This isn't his fault, its the censors of morality. He is one of the most interesting writers that I have read in a while, and some of that does transfer into his show. He travels all around the world, looking for "The Perfect Meal", knowing that this term is not objective. I dislike most of the shows that say they are looking for food in the wild, or adventure and food. This show is not like that AT all. Like I have said before, the books are better, and a good idea is that they should release an uncensored version of this show on DVD. I will be in line to buy it.
