The start of the episode was a bit far fetched and after 15 mins I was ready to throw in the towel. Then it got better with a good twist at the end. Considering the positive ratings of the episodes to come, I will keep going.

Try hard

This show tries too hard to convince viewers that Katherine Heigl is more attractive than Sarah Chalke. Not going to happen. Divorce or no, her kid needs a serious attitude adjustment. The episode was interesting enough, Heigl wasn't overbearingly annoying, so it's worth checking out another episode.
Some bizarre choices

Some camera choices are flat out odd. The angles tend to be a psychedelic standard but are unnecessary. The timeline back-and-forth is always not interesting. I like a linear story. The first episode is watchable. This is what happens when you give some actors leads (and some crew Too much freedom, and directors Too much money) when they haven't really worked up to it. I'm giving it a chance but so far I'm on the fence.
Why make someone do a review Longer than they need to? There is no need to have to do this many characters unless you want me to talk about every single thing in this show which is not necessary in any way shape or form.

No One to Root For

Just slogged through the first episode. Almost every character is a loser. Make that, EVERY character is a loser. Not a fun show at all. The scenes jump back and forth through about four decades and there is no reason for it. It's needlessly confusing disguised as being arty. I may try just one more but god knows why. The successful characters are bored and lonely, and the others just mope and cry a lot. No one needs this programme in their lives.
