The Who's MTV debut
Rodrigo_Amaro1 March 2021
The Who enters MTV with a fine performance captured with a great Black and White cinematography. Daltrey, Townshend and Entwsitle make a great effort together in this powerful song - one of their greatest hits in the 1980's, a poor decade for The Who, and they disbanded for a time later on.

It was one of the very first videos to debut the channel at the time right in its inception along with "Video Killed the Radio Star", so it's important for that fact besides being the group's return without Keith Moon, who died in 1978.

It's a fine act, the song is full of energy and highly memorable but the clip is just a performance act. What upsets me is that the entire song isn't presented, MTV cut some bits - the introduction and some instrumental bits. Still, it's worthy of view and to be listened at full volume. There are some good production values better developed here than on the videos they made prior to this - several which appear on the documentary "The Kids Are Alright". 8/10
