Mrs Maguire becomes the unlikely hero in the concluding episode of this fantastic series. Why on Earth could this not have been an eight part series, just as the new Vicar is in place and settled, it's over.
Tom Brittney has been quite outstanding, if I'm honest I never thought any character would replace Sydney, but this guy has just got it, he somehow settled in immediately, he's so natural with Robson Green, he's added some new life back into the show.
This episode was not exactly cheerful, or light hearted, it was very gritty, and harsh to some extent, but superbly written, with the acting on point from all quarters, once again though, it's All Weaver that impressed me the most as Leonard, something of a clot in earlier episodes he has been so good throughout this series, it's been quite something.
Superb send off, to arguably the best series to date. 9/10
