Testing of Viper prototypes spanned from 2006 to 2008 and the series was formally in-service at the beginning of 2009 - ready to partake in American-led actions in Iraq. Nine total squadrons of the USMC now field the Venom. These are actively replacing the fleet of UH-1N Twin Hueys in still service.
What was that?

I admit to not seeing episodes prior to S1-Ep6. However, when Ep6 started I was totally confused. What was going on? Was this something left over from previous episode? Action for current episode didn't start until approximately 13 minutes into it. And then we have the little scene with the school children and Magnum ending up feeding them pancakes. Totally throw away filming.
Once the actual plot of show started, with the 2 subplots, things started flowing a bit better. Ben Vereen did a great job getting into character and really being the man, not just "acting" as such. Personally, I feel "Higgins" is the foundation of this episode at least, rather than off-the-cuff "Magnum."

It just blew my mind that they were talking about UH1's in Iraq. It sounds like whoever wrote this was stealing from the original Magnum and had no idea that 40 years had past and things were different. It is just such a badly done show.
